“We first went to imperial in 2024 on our first visit to Detroit. As soon As we landed, we drove straight here for a meal that we knew would satisfy. The service is always fast and friendly ( ask your server for recommendations for food, drinks, activities they won’t steer you wrong). We opted for the taco of the week ( vegan chorizo and creamy), imperial Sonoran and tostada, as well as the nachos. We were all stuffed and happy. Shout out to Pricilla“

“The best cookies and cinnamon roll in Metro Detroit. The cinnamon rolls are huge, made fresh and served warm on the weekends. They are always a big hit at my Open Houses! Highly recommend both, and I look forward to trying the ice cream cookie sandwich. it looks amazing, you can customize your sandwich by choosing your choice of cookies and ice cream flavors.“

What made my order more appealing was the fact that I ordered the Butter Cake which included a Carmel sauce and Vanilla Bean ice cream and someone in the kitchen made sure to put the ice cream in a container which they placed in a bag of ice. “We love iFreeze! We took our daughter who has Celiac Disease. They have items marked as gluten free on the menu. She had the S’mores ice cream and loved it. They were very knowledgeable about Celiac and cleaned the machines before use. They keep all GF items separated as well. It’s so important to us to have safe places for our daughter to eat and have dessert. Would recommend iFreeze to anyone!“

I stopped by today and got the mezza plate, pumpkin cheesecake, and sumac salmon (with rice and beets). They were all incredibly delicious. “Yes, but - the order and pay by phone ruins the overall experience of Mudgies. Can’t ask an app about the menu. Spent 10 minutes looking on the interface to order an ice tea. Figured it was my lack of finding the menu. Had to flag someone down to learn they were out of ice tea. All those things a server would tell you. But alas you don’t get. So good food, crappy experience! Lower your expectations, taking on the McDonald’s approach, sad really. Oh and if you want an item on the side they charge extra for that?! And with this order system no one asked me how my lunch was- or if I needed anything. So my sandwich was cold and sat awhile before it was quickly dropped at my table. I am so bummed - loved this place. The good news is there are now a ton of amazing options for lunch in Corktown. I recommend tipping much less because you are really on your own.“

“I haven't had a single bad experience here since the new owners took over. The food has been awesome, the employees are great, and it's not dingy and gross like some other places around.

Thin crust BBQ chicken is great, and my kid loves the cinnamon stix. My coworker said they have pretty good boneless wings, but I haven't tried those yet! 😉

When I was in last week, there was an Uber Eats driver picking food up, but being really rude. He tried to take stuff out of their cooler and walk out without paying for it. Dude was causing a big scene like he was allowed to steal, and the owner was not losing their crap on 'em. Good on them, it has to be hard keeping your cool in that situation.“

“Unbelievably good. Obviously the pie is the star of the show. The flavors rotate, but the crust is always deliciously flaky with a perfectly seasoned, not-too-sweet filling. Don't miss out on the savory hand pie either!

Aside from the pies, everything else is also just really good. The other standouts for me are the savory bread pudding, the rosemary cookie, and the lemon poppyseed cookie, but everything behind the glass is phenomenal.

These sisters sure know how to bake. They're closing up their regular operation soon, but I'm optimistic that they'll find a new, more sustainable way to share their delicious baking with the community.“
