I went in the United States Air Force and have spent a lot of my time serving overseas.

I recently moved back in the area and love Josefs European Pastry shop.

The cherry custard cofee cake is a delicious fresh taste of home.

I stopped by while visiting Gross Pointe Woods and was not disappointed.

I took a variety of tastes home to share with my family.

I highy recommend Josefs for a warm drink and fresh pastry to sit and visit with a friend inside or outside.“

It was totally last minute, and I had little hope of finding a bakery that could accommodate the order on short notice and with its specificity. Fannie was happy to help! She baked us a beautiful and positively delicious vegan carrot cake with buttercream frosting. My father is 78 and has enjoyed vegan desserts for many, many years. “Love this place when needing something extra special. They have made 2 cakes for family birthdays. Each cake inspired excitement and gave the wow factor and the taste…. Delicious! One of the cakes was a custom flavour not on their list of options, I let them know what my request was and they provided options on how they could make it work. If you are ordering try to give at least a few days notice ( I gave a week). These cakes are not something thrown together- they are custom made just for you and I imagine they take some time to plan and prepare.“

Cinnamon roll croissant also warmed up, delicious

I docked 1 star for the unkind behavior of the brunette ponytailed barista. We bought an unhoused gentleman a coffee. He was with a walker and could hardly move. When the barista brought out his coffee, he asked her for cold water. She looked at him in disgust and walked away. I gave her a few mins to bring the water. When I realized she wasn’t going to, I walked over and demanded she give him the water. It was a hot, humid day. We already paid for his drink, it really didn’t need to go like that.

Besides that, all the cashiers were friendly and knowledgeable.“

“The best bakery baked goods I've EVER had! Stopped in last week for the first time, bought the multi-grain sourdough bread, blueberry muffins and the croissant cinnamon honey muffins. Oh my heavens, delicious doesn't aptly describe the baked goods I ate. The muffins and bread are made with clean, natural ingredients - no fillers or junk. Every item has a distinct flavor profile. The blueberry muffins were bursting with blueberries. The honey drizzle on the cinnamon croissant muffin was divine, tasted like it came straight from the beehive. Le Rouge has a new fan!“

“10/10 would recommend this bakery!! I needed a smash cake for my daughter’s first birthday. I wanted to find one that used natural dyes. I called a few bakery’s and this is the only one that was willing to use a natural dye. They had me bring in a box of the dye I wanted! The cake turned out perfect, looked great, tasted great and they were really really decently priced too!! I also had a dozen cupcakes made with my dye and it was great too! My only complaint was it was supposed to be a bright pink but it turned out more of a really really light pink. Totally okay, especially since they were using my dye! But I just wish I would have been called when they were making it before I picked it up so I would have known. But I would 100% use this bakery again!“
