“Coming back from Belle Isle we stopped at the Taqueria El Rey food truck. Their smoked chicken had been our favorite before their fire. We ordered the whole chicken. The price is still reasonable and the chicken is still the best! We ate it in our car in the parking lot across from their food truck. The smoky, juicy delicousness of the chicken is just as good as their previous brick and mortar spot. We highly recommend them!“
“Our first visit to Take Five Bistro and it was AWESOME!! My husband and I loved everything about it. We had a reservation, waited 10 minutes and were seated in the most perfect spot by the window. Though every table was occupied, we were waited on rather quickly by our AMAZING waiter who definitely knew his stuff. He gave us recommendations, made jokes, was very attentive and brought our food at perfect intervals. The bread with the garlic spread was fresh and yummy. I had a chocolate martini and Caribbean martini. Every dish has its own flavour and perfectly presented. The greatest thing is that the owner and all staff are so wonderful. The restaurant is frequented by many Chinese people which I think is a great sign. We love to look at the dishes that they order and then the wonderful waitstaff make suggestions based there off. Drinks are great, the first food i had here was 50/50 though. The Margherita Pizza was just shy of excellent, very fresh ingredients, a New York Style pie crust . Having been a Sr VP in the NYC food industry for 20 years, i can usually spot a decent pizza. The salad for 2 was excellent, perfect size and nice ingredients. The house burger however, was a disappointment. There were more toppings than meat, the patty itself was very thin and overcooked (i ordered it medium, it came out well done, so very little flavor and very dried out). Beer and cocktails here are always spot on. Prices charged don't always exactly match the menu, was charged $21 for a $20 pizza. This might be a Detroit thing lol. Overall though, if you stick to the pizzas and bar fare here, the place is more like a 4.5. You won't be disappointed.“
