“We eat at Shortys once a week. We love the specials (great smoked wings, smoke ribeye hoagie and lasagna just to name a few), excellent pizza and sandwiches. Service is speedy and friendly every time. It can be loud sometimes if it’s a full house but then other times is a quiet atmosphere.“

“We discovered one of Jackson's gems today. It's not a huge place but it's fantastic so if you have to wait- know that it's worth it. They have a variety of selections so I think it's safe to say something for everyone. My quiche Lorraine (a regularly offered choice) was delicious and the cranberry orange walnut muffin was outstanding. Our server was very friendly and the food came out quickly“

“This is a clean and fun atmosphere. The food is prepared right every time. The servers here are friendly and do a good job following up with your satisfaction and drink refills. The fish is one of my favorites, but you really can't go wrong on the food here. Price is reasonable for what you would expect for the atmosphere. “One of the best meals I've had in quite a long time. The place is clean and taken care of well. The TouchTunes machine is amazing and has a great selection of music. But the highlight was definitely our waitress Mary. She deserves the whole world and more for her kindness and the conversation. Very easy person to talk to. Definitely recommend“

We were here today for the first time and Jenny A was our server.She was so kind, sweet, helpful and had a good sense of humor and was just overall an amazing person to have (wish I could have had dinner with her as well lol)The food was delicious! “Small coney island with a rooster theme. The place was packed the whole time we were there. It's not a place for large parties but definitely a place of local flare. Amy was our server and did a great job. She helped me make a coney dog omlet that was huge. Great time “

It wasn't remarkable or memorable, it was a burger.I didn't do a 5 star on the food because it is basic food. It's good. It severed its purpose. But I wasn't wowed by flavor or anything of the sort. Typical bar food and a fun environment to enjoy it in.Staff are super friendly and happy to help. Everything was spotless and clean.Certainly better than a fast food joint. Maybe some of the other items are staples. I wasn't overly impressed with anything I saw to move me to want to try it.“

“Where to start with this little place. The hometown diner atmosphere, the smiling face when you walk in the door, the friendly service and absolutely great home cooked style meals? This little place is simply overall amazing. A very hard working Family owned diner. Once again the food is like I'd prepare for my own family (I've been a Chef for 40 yrs) and just like my table you better come with an appetite! You get all that you pay for and then some and in today's economy that's really saying something. I highly recommend stopping in this place and giving them the support they deserve if you're in their neck of the woods.BTW my wife had Southwest Hash with Cinnamon Raisin Toast and I had a full order of biscuits and gravy with a couple of over medium eggs on top. “Almost gave a 3 star but felt it didn't really warrant that since I merely had just 1 complaint. I ordered what the menu called "pretzels" and was given boat shaped bread with excessive amounts of garlic. To the point of only eating 1/2 of 1. I then finished my drink leaving entire basket/plate of the rest at table. The waitress was wonderful wish could remember her name. She was just a short little thing but very friendly, courteous, and pretty fast considering the bar was full shortly after we arrived. I would recommend this place but I would not recommend their "pretzels".“

“So we stopped in for a bit to eat and found ourselves having one of the best experiences here at the Texas Road House in Jackson, MI. not to often can a review be more about the server than the food but here I am writing this review. The food was outstanding but actually sat in the shadows of our server. Brevan is absolutely amazing. Spot on attitude, point of service, attentiveness, friendly, and the overall care that we recieved was the best experience, and perfect. “Our waitress Allison was there for us all the time. We never had to wait for anything. She was kind and courteous. We had all you can eat shrimp dinner and it was wonderful. I am certainly going to come back and eat there again. I just loved it ❤️“

“Oh my gosh I just love this place! The food here is literally always quality and the staff is amazing. The only issue I’ve ever had here was I placed an online order once and when I arrived the internet was down so they had no physical record of my order, but they accepted my email receipt as proof and were able to get me my food either way and within 10 minutes tops. I will recommend this place to any and everyone for any meal time every time.“

Drinks are good! I like blue moon so they had my favorite beer. Charlie and harmony are really awesome bartenders!!! The chili here is amazing! People need to come here and support your local bar. “Very disappointed after liking it so well. My spouse, nephew and myself, came for a quick drink meal n appetizer. Waitress came to table fairly quick and we gave her our drink order and tried ordering 3 pretzels and 3 nacho salads. She said she couldn't take our food order because she had to do drink order 1st and give him a "ticket for the order" she finally comes back to take the order we already gave her. About 10 min later she brings 1 pretzel with cheese, goes back to kitchen about 5min later brings next pretzel and did the same thing with our meal so basically we couldn't eat together. Some days of the week they also have a Bloody Mary bar that is great. The only thing that could make this site better is the ability to hear the communication from the tower. For non-pilots, that would be awesome.“
