“Food is delicious, takeout orders frequently wrong. This is the best food in Kalamazoo, but they’ve gotten my takeout order wrong five times in just 2025. This is nothing new for this place as I’ve been coming since 2013 and I’ve had so many mix ups. The workers are polite and friendly, and everything is always delicious. Would recommend you eat in person.“

“We stopped in for brunch on a busy Sunday morning, and Darby was our server—hands down the highlight of the visit.
The place was packed, but she handled our table (party of 4) like a pro: greeted us right away with a genuine smile, took our drink orders quickly, and brought refills without us even asking. She knew the menu inside out—when I was torn between the eggs Benedict and the avocado toast, she gave honest recommendations based on what she’d seen people love that day, and she nailed it. My Benedict came out perfectly poached, hollandaise spot-on, and the avocado toast had just the right amount of everything.
She checked in at good intervals—never hovering, but always there when we needed something (extra hot sauce, a to-go box, splitting the check smoothly). Super attentive to details too: one of us mentioned being gluten-sensitive, and she double-checked with the kitchen to make sure everything was safe. The whole experience felt effortless and welcoming, like she actually cared that we had a great time.
Food was solid all around—generous portions,But honestly, Darby’s service elevated the whole meal. We’ve been to a lot of brunch spots, and it’s rare to get that level of friendly, efficient care without it feeling rushed or fake.
If you’re heading there, ask for Darby if you can—she’s great. We’ll definitely be back because of her. Highly recommend“

“We stopped at the Summer Thyme Cafe for lunch on our way to Lake Michigan. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting with little booths and tables for dining in. The menu has a great variety of salads and sandwiches, so it was hard to decide what to order! I chose the Chicken Pecan salad, and it was delicious. Everything was so fresh; the serving size was generous but not overwhelming. My husband had the Cobb salad, and it was very good too. Our server was pleasant and attentive. The cafe is conveniently located about 0.5 miles from the highway-easy on/easy off. I would definitely recommend this cute little cafe for lunch and look forward to stopping there again when I'm passing through Kalamazoo. PS-the desserts looked amazing! Fresh pies,cake, bars etc. [We're trying to avoid sweets so we didn't partake-but it was tempting].

“First time customer and was very surprised that Bert's Bakery - Comstock had so many non food items. There is a big assortment of candles, puzzles, cards, figurines and more! I was expecting a bakery only so the additional items were a bonus. The woman running the business was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return!As for the bakery, I ordered a vanilla cake slice with coconut cream. Delicious! There was a nice selection of cake slices and I think three different types of cookies to choose from. That was all I saw. Don't know if they serve drinks or anything else.“

“The pizza here is AMAZING!!! My absolute favorite is the BBQ chicken pizza. Best in town, hands down!!! The people working here are so nice and friendly. They will get your order done right and fast!!!! Not only that, but the delivery drivers are really good too! They deliver quickly to your house and follow instructions!!!
