“Found this restaurant on google yesterday. I wanted to try something different and noticed that it was close to where I live and had better reviews than the other Chinese food place I’d been accustomed to going to. That in itself was a plus for me!
I placed my order online:
Sweet and sour chicken, my girls favorite dish…
Broccoli chicken, my husband’s favorite…
And
Pepper chicken for myself. I had never heard of it but was genuinely curious because I love pepper steak.
Everything was delicious! The fried chicken rice was fluffy and seasoned well. The sweet and sour sauce was tasty and had a good, thick consistency. The pepper chicken could’ve had more of the bean sauce on it for me so next time I’ll ask for extra. The peppers and broccoli were tender and the chicken in all of the plates was really good. My 11 year old daughter said to tell you “we’d give 100 stars if we could” and she’s my picky eater lol

“Absolutely loved our experience at Shiangmi! We came in as a big group and were blown away by how quickly everything came out; even with such a big party. The food was incredibly authentic and flavorful, from the savory stir-fried dishes to the sauces and textures. You can tell they don’t compromise on traditional flavors, and every dish had that real home-style taste that’s hard to find in this area.
We didn’t have a specific server at this restaurant but there was a younger male server who was super friendly, attentive, and somehow kept track of all our requests without missing a beat. He really made the dinner feel smooth and welcoming.
The only downside was that the AC seemed to be broken and I hope that they fix it soon. But if you’re looking for delicious, authentic Chinese food with fast service and great hospitality, this is definitely the spot. Can’t wait to come back!“

“My husband, daughter and I stopped in for the first time tonight and the food, staff, and atmosphere was amazing. Even my picky 8 year old loved it and tried everything! We will be back very soon! This is our new favorite spot👍“

“Top notch Food, very authentic Chinese food. The staff is the best, food service is fast and delicious. 3 dining rooms and can host larger gatherings. The bar service is well stocked Chinese and American beverages. Atmosphere is relaxing and not loud when busy. This restaurant design is relaxing.

“One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the area. Quick for pick up meals and friendly staff. Usually the chicken and rice are perfectly cooked, moist, and delicious. I've tried a few other dishes that have all been good too. Would definitely recommend.“

“I’ve been here a few times as it’s consistently tasty each time. While the menu focuses on noodle variations it offers other tasty treats. Watching the noodles crafted by hand is quite entertaining. It’s made in a similar way that pizza is made, instead of spinning dough into a saucer, here they perform fancy jump rope techniques into thin tasty noodles cooked in seconds. Adorned with various proteins, veggies, & spice levels there’s bound to be something you like. I find these flavors to border the authentic side vs. Panda express. Aside from the great eats I like the fact that there’s a ev charger in the parking lot (not free though).“

“Moved to Pontiac and this is just down the street from me. Ordered General Tso chicken and for $11 I got like 2 lbs. in a big white Styrofoam box (packed) They do NOT skimp on the portions and the Pork fried rice was amazing and the Egg drop soup was also good. I have their menu on my refrigerator and plan on ordering almost everything on the menu before the year is out.“

“The food was average, but the egg roll was delicious! One thing I really liked about this place is that you can see the kitchen while they’re cooking — everything looks clean and organized. The bathroom was also very clean. Overall, not the best food, but the place itself is nice and well-kept.“

“First time here and it was very good. Being a native metro Detroiter I recall the days of fabulous almond boneless chicken (ABC) from one particular restaurant. 30+ years later, I’m still searching for that taste. This place is pretty darn close. The lunch combo portion was huge, more than enough for two very generous servings. In fact when I picked up the order the bag was so heavy I checked inside to be sure I had gotten the right order. The chicken was tender and breading crisp despite my not eating it for 45 minutes after picking it up. The gravy is the a bit salty neon yellow I recall. The fried rice with a few bean sprouts mixed in was equally good. I did not care for the eggroll, but its importance was marginal. “I can’t speak to in-house service or atmosphere. But we’ve been getting the same exact takeout (chicken subgum chop suey) here for years, so it’s easy to compare. It was good for awhile, then really went way down in quality. But now for the last 2 orders in 3 months, it has noticeably improved and is excellent! Fresh green crisp vegetables and tender chicken- $14/quart which is plenty for two. Not sure if the change is in ownership or chef, but whatever it is, it’s great again!“

“Absolutely best and highest quality Chinese food that I know of. This isn’t your typical “Chinese Restaraunt”. You’ll find no buffet or anything of that sort here. Impeccable interior, with the added plus of the Jia Bar Connected and owned by the same owners. Stop and have a craft cocktail at Jia then 10 steps into the China Cafe through the door and be prepared for a fantastic experience! Owners are absolute gems as well.“

“I used to go here as a 8-10 y/o, I'm 42 now. My dad worked at the Marathon on the corner. I was friends with the owners son (I believe it has changed hands since I was a kid). The food was really good I have nothing but fond memories of this place.“

“Some of the best kosher Chinese food I've ever had. The general tsao chicken is amazing. Just the right won't of spicy with some crunch. The Szechuan chicken is also a great option of you like spicy and I don't think it has any added sugar (another huge plus for me)
I'd put this place up against the best Chinese kosher places in NY and day.“

“I had to post a review for two young gentlemen, who are normally on the Saturday schedule Connor & Marco. They Make a great tag team! Marco Always remembers our order, and Connor is consistent with the upbeat Energy, moving the line along and making sure the portions are supportive to muscle growth for protein needs. Advice: For Panda Corp, keep the tofu dish, ready all day.“

“I went here when my daughter had a volleyball tournament nearby. I didn’t have very high expectations based on the exterior but The food was much better than I expected and the Service was kind. The atmosphere was a little rundown and not that many customers were there. It seemed like they had more carryout business than in house dining. It was enjoyable.“

“This place was excellent. We drove 45 minutes looking for authentic 东北 region food, and not only was it exactly what we were looking for, it is among the best Chinese restaurants in the metro Detroit area. The service/staff was also wonderfully friendly. We enjoyed every minute there.“

“Rating food is somewhat subjective, but I love & at times Crave Chineese food, especially Egg Foo Yung, a friend treated me that dinner & now I'm hooked on this tiny carry out restaurant. Super delicious, very generous potions & Best Priced menu, not to mention pleasant service too. This little place on M-59 is very busy, a needle in a haystack. My opinion, the go to place for egg foo yung, yummy!!“

“This is our favorite takeout Chinese restaurant in Clarkston. They do a great job at cooking the food as requested (veggies cooked through) and have some gluten-free options. They work with you and will substitute chicken without the breading when requested. We will be ordering from them on Christmas - our tradition.“

“I felt the thai fried rice price was very fair for the portion and our waiter was very nice and I wasn't sure what kind of spice I would have so she gave me some pepper so that if it is not spicy enough I can add that and the restaurant was very very nice and food came in like 5-6 minutes and had take out and the food was so hot that even after an hour or 2 and and it had a soup which was very nice and the food just was sooo yummy in my opinion and this place is a MUST TRY!!!“

“Best Chinese food in metro-Detroit, hands down! Nothing frozen, all fresh..they hand bread the chicken and it is fried to absolute golden brown perfection! The general Tao’s sauce is the best I’ve ever had. Egg rolls are light and crisp. Happy you is amazing consistent, I’ve been a customer for 10+ years and I’ve never been disappointed. They are also extremely friendly, portions are big and the prices are very reasonable! A+++“
