“I like many of you, like using the review score when making purchase decisions. I never just look at the score. I look for the number of reviews and I try to find helpful reviews to give me more incite into what I may be getting into. My wife works in a business where the reviews really matter for bringing in new customers. She often talks about the long-time customers who keep returning but have never left a review. Those are really the voices that should matter more to people who want an honest review of the company they are looking into. Unfortunately, even though I like looking at reviews, I seldom leave one unless I'm very satisfied with the company or really disappointed. In both cases, I leave my emotions aside and tell things as I experience them. This means that if everything wasn't perfect, I don't ding them for minor stuff. I give people the benefit of the doubt because we all have those days when we aren't at our best. When I read bad reviews about restaurants that I frequent often, I wonder about the person leaving the review. I feel that they are either competitors with malicious intent, someone who didn't try to listen to resolve whatever issues they perceived to be happening, or simply someone who's looking for a reason and is too hard to please in the first place. So with all that out of the way, let me get to the Lim's Star review. I love Chinese food and it's one of the first things I looked for locally when I bought my house 10 years ago. There are several in what I would consider my drivable area. Lim's Star is in my top 5 or higher depending on what dish I'm looking for. 10 years means I've been coming there since before the current owner. Do I miss the dinner rolls? Not really, since I get better quality food and personalization of meals on request. The new owner knows us on sight and remembers what we like to order. He even allows us to modify the ingredients to our liking. He is very friendly and will engage in small talk to get to know his customers better. We eat at or buy takeout from Lim's Star at least once a month, sometimes more. Has everything always been perfect? No, but I really can't recall the last time I was dissatisfied with my order or service. Based on my long review, I'm hoping you can tell I have had many enjoyable meals from and experiences with Lim's Star. Seriously! If you are on the fence or willing to try something new in your area, start with a dish you know to compare. I doubt you will be disappointed in your comparison. Mark J.”

I was thrilled to find marinated pork belly as the pork in my noodles (pork and vegetable option). This was a "need a towel, not a napkin" kind of meal - messy and great! “I took my wife here for her birthday dinner. We are still sitting at the table but I felt it necessary to leave a review right now. We go out to eat about 28 days per month. We hardly ever cook. We know where all the good restaurants are as far as food goes, but when it comes to service that's always hit or miss. This is by far the best service we've had anywhere in such a long time we can't even remember. They give you plenty of time to eat and enjoy your company but they stop in regularly to see if you need anything. They answer all your questions, make suggestions and even went above and beyond a couple of times when it was unnecessary. They forgot my wife's lobster tail with her steak and brought it 5 minutes later and comped it. That's fantastic service. We will 100% be back , if for nothing else but the fantastic service.”

Everything was great, fresh and evidently made with skill and love. My fave veg was the pickled cabbage. The grape leaves stuffing wasn't my the best ever, but the leaves themselves certainly were. The texture and size were amazing. My husband really liked the sauce they put on the grape leaves, for him, these were the best tasting he's had. Plenty of pita bread to scoop up the hommus. Right temperatures for all the food. A family owns, cooks and staffs the place and they made us feel welcomed and treated us royally. Delicious date filled cookies to go was a winning touch for a superb meal. Wish I lived closer!”

“Absolutely crazy place in the best way! Such a unique Mexican-Mediterranean fusion menu, and everything we tried was delicious. Really creative combinations, bold flavors, and very generous portions.
I honestly didn’t personally enjoy the Mediterranean stuff as much (except the Shawarma taco which was amazing) and prefer the items that had Mac n cheese, nacho cheese, and hot Cheetos in them. But that’s just personal preference.

I brought two of my lady friends with me and they also had the Maurice and felt the same way I did. We will spread the news and also be back! “I come there often. My food is generally good, but never hot, especially the soup. Most of the waitresses are very nice and good at their jobs, but some are not good at follow up. Asking if everything is ok, do you need anything, more beverage, etc. And you are about the only restaurant in Livonia that doesn't offer any of the 0 pops. Even the smaller restaurants that can't afford the cost from the companies to add it, have cans of 0 Pepsi, or 0 Coke or 0 A&W root beer. They are so much better than diet pops. Please consider it. “Just came to say I enjoy the time I spend at the Wintergarden. The Wednesday wings are great and I get them almost EVERY Wednesday, the Sunday half off pizza is also a great deal and quite tasty. The service is usually good, but it depends on who is working. I am usually there during happy hour so my review is based on that. I have three bartenders I particulary like to see, Brei, who unfortunately for me, has branched out to better herself and is not there so often anymore, Alison, who knows my wing order by heart, and Sam who kicks butt and takes great care of me.”

He was quick and efficient with the portion sizes not only that but he also had a great attitude consistent smile and didn’t make me feel rushed .

I asked his name if i remember right it was Jeremiah. After he cleared the line he got right back to grilling i felt bad for him but 10/10 service. The main problem i have noticed with this location is management i notice that managers where collared shirts and its too bad that Jeremiah didn’t have one i worked in a kitchen so i know its stressful but this worker handled everything really well!!”

The food is always amazing, no matter what we choose but the cherry on top is the service. While we have never had bad service while eating here, no matter how busy…what we have had is EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. Today we dined with Kamani M. and he was both polite and personable. He interacted with my boys without being prompted and checked in often during the duration of our meal. It’s the little things like this that keep me and my family coming back.”

“My household has had covid for 3 weeks. Yesterday I was finally able to go out and run a couple errands, and Culver's sounded so good. I ordered my usual burger, and was in a hurry to get back home before it got cold, so it's my fault for not checking it, but when I got home I found out they gave me someone else's burger. I wasn't going to go back out in the snow, so I just didn't have lunch. So disappointed!!”

They offered recommendations on wine and food pairings. The service provided was impressive due to the busyness of the bar area. I ordered the grilled chicken salad and my friend ordered the braised short ribs. The food was delicious. I also love the sleek and swanky decor throughout the restaurant which brings a warm and inviting presence. The wine is wonderful.
