“I like many of you, like using the review score when making purchase decisions. I never just look at the score. I look for the number of reviews and I try to find helpful reviews to give me more incite into what I may be getting into. My wife works in a business where the reviews really matter for bringing in new customers. She often talks about the long-time customers who keep returning but have never left a review. Those are really the voices that should matter more to people who want an honest review of the company they are looking into. Unfortunately, even though I like looking at reviews, I seldom leave one unless I'm very satisfied with the company or really disappointed. In both cases, I leave my emotions aside and tell things as I experience them. This means that if everything wasn't perfect, I don't ding them for minor stuff. I give people the benefit of the doubt because we all have those days when we aren't at our best. When I read bad reviews about restaurants that I frequent often, I wonder about the person leaving the review. I feel that they are either competitors with malicious intent, someone who didn't try to listen to resolve whatever issues they perceived to be happening, or simply someone who's looking for a reason and is too hard to please in the first place. So with all that out of the way, let me get to the Lim's Star review. I love Chinese food and it's one of the first things I looked for locally when I bought my house 10 years ago. There are several in what I would consider my drivable area. Lim's Star is in my top 5 or higher depending on what dish I'm looking for. 10 years means I've been coming there since before the current owner. Do I miss the dinner rolls? Not really, since I get better quality food and personalization of meals on request. The new owner knows us on sight and remembers what we like to order. He even allows us to modify the ingredients to our liking. He is very friendly and will engage in small talk to get to know his customers better. We eat at or buy takeout from Lim's Star at least once a month, sometimes more. Has everything always been perfect? No, but I really can't recall the last time I was dissatisfied with my order or service. Based on my long review, I'm hoping you can tell I have had many enjoyable meals from and experiences with Lim's Star. Seriously! If you are on the fence or willing to try something new in your area, start with a dish you know to compare. I doubt you will be disappointed in your comparison. Mark J.”

“I took my wife here for her birthday dinner. We are still sitting at the table but I felt it necessary to leave a review right now. We go out to eat about 28 days per month. We hardly ever cook. We know where all the good restaurants are as far as food goes, but when it comes to service that's always hit or miss. This is by far the best service we've had anywhere in such a long time we can't even remember. They give you plenty of time to eat and enjoy your company but they stop in regularly to see if you need anything. They answer all your questions, make suggestions and even went above and beyond a couple of times when it was unnecessary. They forgot my wife's lobster tail with her steak and brought it 5 minutes later and comped it. That's fantastic service. We will 100% be back , if for nothing else but the fantastic service.”

I went in and within 5 minutes I was out with my order even asking Aiden for a free cup of water!

Their staff is so friendly and helpful, and everything they make tastes so wonderful. They baked our engagement cake and I knew from there that we wanted them to handle the dessert for our wedding. Everything was great, fresh and evidently made with skill and love. My fave veg was the pickled cabbage. The grape leaves stuffing wasn't my the best ever, but the leaves themselves certainly were. The texture and size were amazing. My husband really liked the sauce they put on the grape leaves, for him, these were the best tasting he's had. Plenty of pita bread to scoop up the hommus. Right temperatures for all the food. A family owns, cooks and staffs the place and they made us feel welcomed and treated us royally. Delicious date filled cookies to go was a winning touch for a superb meal. Wish I lived closer!”

“Absolutely fantastic Italian food! I had the veal piccata with pasta, and everything was delicious. I also tried their homemade marinara sauce, and it was seriously to die for. It was so good that I bought a pint to take home! You could put this marinara sauce on cardboard, and I’d probably still eat it. 😂

The manager was extremely nice, knowledgeable, and helpful, which made the experience even better. And definitely save room for dessert—the espresso gelato is amazing!

“I have wonderful memories of the Maurice Salad at Hudson's and yours was one of the best I have ever had! I also loved the warm pita bread that came with it. Delicious! I brought two of my lady friends with me and they also had the Maurice and felt the same way I did. We will spread the news and also be back! The salad had a nice amount of meat and cheeses and of course pickles. The dressing was outstanding and there was enough to bring almost half of it home for my lunch the next day! “I come there often. My food is generally good, but never hot, especially the soup. Most of the waitresses are very nice and good at their jobs, but some are not good at follow up. Asking if everything is ok, do you need anything, more beverage, etc. And you are about the only restaurant in Livonia that doesn't offer any of the 0 pops. Even the smaller restaurants that can't afford the cost from the companies to add it, have cans of 0 Pepsi, or 0 Coke or 0 A&W root beer. They are so much better than diet pops. Please consider it. “Just came to say I enjoy the time I spend at the Wintergarden. The Wednesday wings are great and I get them almost EVERY Wednesday, the Sunday half off pizza is also a great deal and quite tasty. The service is usually good, but it depends on who is working. I am usually there during happy hour so my review is based on that. I have three bartenders I particulary like to see, Brei, who unfortunately for me, has branched out to better herself and is not there so often anymore, Alison, who knows my wing order by heart, and Sam who kicks butt and takes great care of me.”

I asked his name if i remember right it was Jeremiah. After he cleared the line he got right back to grilling i felt bad for him but 10/10 service. The main problem i have noticed with this location is management i notice that managers where collared shirts and its too bad that Jeremiah didn’t have one i worked in a kitchen so i know its stressful but this worker handled everything really well!!”

Thier behavior showed a complete lack of respectful for service workers. It made me feel that they may not have been taught enough about basic manners, respect, and how to treat other people properly.
No employee should have to tolerate being spoke to or treated that way while simply trying to provide service to customers.”

“Fantastic pho place, probably my favorite one within 30+ miles. The banh mi are all great and the pho is out of this world. Flavors are consistent and delicious. Bun Bo hue is tasty too when available. The owner is also very nice.”

“I absolutely love this restaurant and winery. During my most recent visit I sat at the bar. Sherrel and Eric were my bartenders. Both of them provided wonderful service. They offered recommendations on wine and food pairings. The service provided was impressive due to the busyness of the bar area. I ordered the grilled chicken salad and my friend ordered the braised short ribs. The food was delicious. I also love the sleek and swanky decor throughout the restaurant which brings a warm and inviting presence. The wine is wonderful. I'm also wine club member which is worth every penny if you love wine. Ask for Sherrel and Eric for details on the various memberships they offer. I will be returning soon.”

“The wings are definitely the highlight on this menu, but they have surprise menu items every now and then that are just fire. Fresh brewed beer always hits different then store bought. This place is a hidden gem of amazing food and brew. I just wish the prices were a bit lower, but it's definitely worth the money.”
