“I've hosted several events at Bar Pigalle, and the staff always goes above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly. Whether it's a birthday party or a corporate gathering, they're accommodating and easy to work with. I love the staffs being hospitable to everyone and treated them with respect.“
“I stopped in to try the Woodward and the Farnsworth Funghi. I was able to split the pizza and do just that! The cashier was great! This pizza is delicious!!! I stopped in at lunchtime, so it was a 45 minute wait- and totally worth it!! It's a casual spot with many options & many customers. There's a small lot and street parking.“
“Oh.M.Gee....this place is amazing!! Really loved my dinner last night!! What did we have? BREAD & BUTTER 8 house sourdough, seasonal butter We started with the bread and butter. Their homemade sourdough bread was filled with all kinds of yummy grains and rivaled anything I had in Europe. It was served with cherry-jam butter, which was ok in my mind--I would have been perfectly happy with salted butter. TWICE COOKED EGG* 14 werp farms' greens, brussels sprout, salty cheese, warm shallot vinaigrette The egg atop this salad was really interesting...they took a poached egg and dipped it and fried it. The Brussels sprouts in this salad were super flavorful. I really enjoyed it. The rest of what we had was not on the website for me to grab descriptions and cost. We also had mushroom spring rolls, which were so flavorful! The tiny mushrooms in the spring rolls (not fried, my favorite kind!) were accompanied by many other fresh vegetables and had a delicious dipping sauce. We also had some broccolini and the pork chop. That pork chop was also super flavorful accompanied by collard greens, grits and cornbread. All of this food was so filling I had to take most of the pork chop dish home for today. The service was outstanding. My water glass never went below the halfway mark, and we never had need to pour wine from the bottle because Megan, our waitress, was ON IT!! While the interior of this place is loud, I didn't find myself shouting to be heard. The whole place is painted chartreuse, just like the name. We wrapped all of this up with 2 tastes of chartreuse...the green one was more herbaceous, leaning toward savory, and the yellow chartreuse was sweet. I liked the yellow best and my boyfriend preferred the green. I will highly recommend and plan to come back sometime. Yum-o!! Overall, I'd highly recommend“
“I can count on one hand the amount of places I've been and experienced this level of umami. the quality checklist of atmosphere, food, cocktails, music and service are outstanding to say the least. just.. come here and see for yourself.“
“Popped into this cute little spot and was amazed. There is something for everyone on this menu from an extensive list of Belgian beers to an excellent list of classic and inventive cocktails and even an interesting wine list so grab your buds and come check it out. Also, I have to go back and check out their sourdough pizza which I have heard is fabulous. It doesn't happen until after six.“
“I just have to GUSH about my experience with Time Will Tell! I recently held a Birthday Party there, and it was everything I had hoped for and more! From the jump, Jake, who I worked with to plan, was flexible, helpful, and communicative. They allowed me to bring in approved catering, my own sound, and even a drag queen! Everyone loved the cocktails and mocktails, as well as the picture perfect aesthetics. I also cannot give enough kudos to the staff! They were super attentive to everyone and helpful to mostly first-time visitors. Cannot recommend enough for a drink or special event!“
“I haven't been out in a while so my daughter recommended this place I I went in a I paid 100dollars for a couple of tables! I was later approached bye a young lady and was told we had to spend at least 200 dollars for drinks and we were only at 80 dollars! Then I was told! She thought we booked online! I felt really uncomfortable! But I loved the loved the Live band !“
“Omg this place is life customer service was impeccable. The atmosphere is lovely, comfortable and inviting with a laid-back feel. Most definitely go and visit. The only thing I would say is parking is awful because of its location. Definitely is a hidden gem in the Detroit area. Go and visit coffee was delicious and also was the Old fashioned ?“
“Exceptional, one of my favorite places in the world.Already on the outside there is a 'wow effect'...but what about the inside? This place not only immerses us in a sumptuous era but also brings a special atmosphere. The service is exceptional. The prices are absolutely fair, and it's great.“
“Absolutely one of my favorite bars in Metro Detroit. The basement is very comfortable and usually each night there is a different DJ spinning vinyl. Market rate cocktails, wine and beer. What makes this place remarkable is that besides paying for a drink, it comes close to being over a friends house or your own.“
“Castalia is an intimate tour-de-force in the incredible heights of artistry that you can take the sensory experience of a cocktail. You can taste the care and intent in every glass and the transformative nature of the accompanying scents. You owe it to yourself to go - even if you don't drink, their full menu is offered in non-alcoholic formats that taste nearly the same.“
“OMG Dave and Amelia are the best mixologist duo. Hubby and I came across Two Birds on google and were impressed with the reviews and photos. Our first visit was nothing short of amazing filled with luxurious and herbaceous cocktails. The atmosphere and vibes in Two Birds was very refreshing. Mature crowd, great music, tasty drinks. We will definitely be coming back as regulars to this establishment. Cheers and Happy Holidays!Tasha & Chad“
“This is a great spot for a quick drink and bite before dinner. They have NA drink options for those trying to stay clear from booze, but that still want to sip on a nicely crafted cocktail. The staff is very friendly and will definitely make sure you get exactly what you want.“
“They had two N/A cocktails, one N/A beer, and several sparkling water options! I would recommend the High Vibrations N/A cocktail, very gingery and great for sipping while still being delicious. The Phone Negroni is a bottle N/A cocktail that I've seen at other places, it is tasty, but you're missing out a bit on the cocktail-being-made-in-front-of-you experience. Thanks for having great N/A options!“
“Let me start by saying Thank You Mizz Cat it was a Birthday Brunch I NEVER forget . I didn’t even bring up that it was my birthday but the customer service was ELITE! My man & I always enjoy the food and drinks. Lizzie cat was running the bar & orders by herself and stood tall through the rush & stayed attentive to the customers! I enjoy it & we left a nice tip because of that (:“
“One year later, I came back to Black Salt. They have made so many changes for the better! The ambiance is still so cozy, I noticed more art. The drinks were delicious and not too sweet this time around, and the SPELLS! Last year, when I got a drink with ritual, the bartender basically did it for me. This time around, they give you supplies to do your own spell! Candles, crystals, ribbon, herbs, you name it. It felt way more authentic and unique. Excited to return when the weather is warm because they have a back patio area too!“
“Yes, everything about this place is a yes. The food, service, and atmosphere do not disappoint. I’ve been here 4 or 5 times already. The cocktails and food are creative, beautiful, and delicious. I’m obsessed with the decor, even down to the dinnerware. This is my happy place. I’m honestly hesitant to share, because I want it all to myself.“
“Love this place! The service is a 4 because the past two times I have been here it took forever to get drinks (both the first and second round) - folks were friendly so they may just be short staffed. Drinks are always on point and the snacks are just the right size!“
“I have gotten takeout from Amici's before, but this was my first time dining in! Really nice ambiance, we came around 7:30pm on a Saturday. Dim lighting, high seating, outdoor heated patio, and a super cool bar. Service was great too. I really like their pizza, more of a thicker crust, and the toppings are fantastic. They have great speciality pizza options, it was hard to choose which ones to try! We settled on the 'Pep In Your Step' and 'Shrooms and Grass', both in the smallest size avail. The banana peppers on the Pep In Your Step were such a good acidic addition to the meaty pizza. Also pepperoni cups! Best pepperoni shape (in my opinion). The Shrooms and Grass sauce was delicious, you can really taste the truffle. Definitely recommend! Great place to bring a group to share. We were only a party of 2 so luckily we had a bunch of leftovers for the next day ;)“
“This was my 5th time at Mackenzie's and finally able to sit at the bar. Adam, the bartender, was friendly, engaging, and provided great food recommendation. The perch - lightly blackened and I wasn't disappointed. Great local bar - clean, friendly and good jukebox. Would definitely recommend.“
“We had our sober social and karaoke night at The Congregation. They were amazing. They had everything we needed and helped to make sure we were all set for our event. The mocktails were a huge hit and the coffee is the greatest. We’ll definitely be back.“
“Great experience! All the staff was top notch! We had smoked old fashions for a cocktail, which were perfectly presented. Aranchini and Gruyère spread were great as well as the pasta entrees. Wish we had time for dessert and to enjoy the live music duo, who were awesome. We had tickets to Royal Oak Music Theater...which was within walking distance.“
“This is the second time I've been to this bar, both times for live music being played there. The only issue I see for it as a venue is that the stage is just as dark as the rest of the bar. They do have a nice selection of whiskey and tequila, the bathrooms are unisex and clean, and they have cute outdoor area out back, through the pea gravel isn't the best for standing.“
“The experience was amazing, the food was everything I needed it to be and the server went well over and beyond. All of the different setups are very beautiful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves different types of social places.“
“It had been 5 years since my last belly up at Bumbos, but I'm glad it's still kicking. A proper bar with a proper pour. Nice staff, laid back atmosphere, good tunes and pet friendly patio. They also have a wide foot rest at the bar which amazingly some bars omit altogether. If I lived in Hamtramck, I would live in “
“My wife and I had our anniversary dinner at the Whitney. Everyone was friendly from beginning to end. Roy was very thoughtful and attentive. The food was brought out with perfect timing. The beef wellington was bussin. The filet was delicious. A beautiful dessert was brought out for us at the end. I'm pretty sure the gentleman on piano was playing the song about N.Y. from Gremlins 2. I could listen to that guy all day. One visit was not enough. Would.Parking: Lightning Fast Valet for $10. Totally worth it. Devon flies across the lot on 2 feet and then safely returns your vehicle.“
“I stopped in here last week and had one of the best times that I have had in quite some time ! The drinks were strong and the Motor City Birger was very good. The bar was not crowded and our waitress was very attentive and got our order correct. She was amazing if you ask me so of course we tipped her well !“
“Cocktail menu is absolutely outstanding, and you can buy everything you need to make them here. Great small grocer selection and awesome local beer selection, great curated selection of liquors and staff Is SUPER helpful and attentive. Great place to start or end a night, and even catch a game.“
“We came for dinner and every single thing we ate was excellent. We had corned beef croquets (holiday special), the roasted garlic ricotta dip, vegan risotto and short rib sandwich. Every aspect was well-prepared & perfectly balanced, service was excellent, atmosphere was just a standard milquetoast restaurant/bar but the food was magnificent.“
“I live in West Village & needed to get out today. I went to the Café & Kitchen for a glass of wine & fries with a good friend. The server was very kind & considerate of our needs. The atmosphere was so comfortable! My friend says she loves our neighborhood!“
“Spent the most wonderful evening at Host recently. Highly recommend the old fashioned. Atmosphere was great. The staff was lovely and the owner came by our table to check in. We utilized the Parents Night Out feature and were blown away with the experience. Danika was amazing with the kids and they didn’t want to leave. Made for a very easy date night!Kid-friendliness: The Parents Night Out option made the meal very child friendly. Our toddlers were able to play upstairs in the coworking space with a sitter. They were close by in case anything happened and it was safe and secure. The hostess had an ear piece that connected to the sitter upstairs so we were being updated throughout the night. Highly recommend!“
“Fantastic dinner experience. Lively, yet cozy atmosphere. Cocktails were incredible, especially if you enjoy trying new combinations of flavors (one drink even came with complimentary artwork). The brussels sprouts were worth crying over they were so good. The service was also fantastic.“
“It's a hotel bar, but it's a nice hotel barYou have your cozy, more quiet area and then you have your more lively bar area. $15 for their signature cocktails, which is on par for the surrounding area. Parking in back, if you don't valet.“
“Our dining experience was fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxing and fun. Our waitress, Kelly was amazing. She was kind, energetic, attentive without hovering. The food was outstanding. All the entrées and appetizers were out of this world. We cannot wait to go back! I cannot say enough nice things about this restaurant and its staff, the owner and the chef.“
“I've came here twice (Birmingham location) in less than a week lol. Each time was great. On my first visit my waiter's name was Chris and he was outstanding. He explained every item on the menu, he checked up on me in a timely fashion, just overall great service from him. The Bartender Nate made the best cocktails (I had a Lemon Drop and a Strawberry Lemon Drop) He even came to the table to introduce himself and made sure the drink was to my liking.Food was good, I really liked the garlic aoli with the fries. Fried lobster tacos were delicious. Filet Sliders were good. I'm not a big fan of pretzel buns so I would have preferred a different type of bread but overall they were goodMy second visit I sat at the Bar. Mike was the Bartender and he made me a Cosmopolitan. I ordered Sweet & Spicy Shrimp, Scallops, Pei Mussels and Grilled Wings. Everything was tasty but the wings. If you're a fan of char-grilled taste, than you'll like the wings.“
“The MOCAD Café is a relaxing and very chill café located directly inside the Museum of Contemporary Art. As expected, the space is designed thoughtfully and exudes relaxation. It has an urban-industrial feel with a touch of modernism. The big garage windows allow for plenty of natural light - when it's warm, they're open to allow a nice breeze. There are many tables with chairs, creating a perfect atmosphere for small group gatherings or a quiet work sesh'.Not only do they sell coffee, tea, and baked goods sourced locally, but there's also a fully stocked bar with a rotating seasonal menu. Many of the cocktails are bright and refreshing, having been curated by the bartenders. Pricing is fair, as well. The staff are always friendly and kind, and the service has been nothing short of splendid. You don't need to visit the museum to visit the café, as it's located directly to the right of you as you enter the museum. Stop in for a drink or treat, and enjoy the museum if you have time.“
“Ok, so this isn't really a food place unless there is a popup but the bartender doesn't seem to care if you grab something at the Checkers next door. It's a nice little queer friendly dive bar with cheap drinks, trivia on Tuesdays, pool, and pinball. Sometimes they have shows. The vibe is kinda like a treehouse for adult boys.“
“Excellent spot. Popped in for a quick lunch and had an incredible arugula salad and a slice of pizza. The team was fast, food was delicious, and Kyle was super hospitable. Definitely stop by and give it a try! Best NY style pizza in Detroit.“
“Went here while i was out of town working. The Reuben was beyond amazing. The bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable and was on top of your every needs without be over bearing. She was also from Poland which being a person of the same background it was nice. Go in there and check out there food and drinks and play a game of pool. Your body will be happy you did.“
“It was a nice quiet Friday evening. If I lived nearby it may have become my regular spot just because of how quiet it is but the service was slow and lacking. One of the sushi rolls had an ingredient I requested without, disappointing but fine tolerable. The shrimp on the sushi boat was amazing. There are no instructions or direction so unless you’re a regular this next bit may help you not fumble like I did.Reservations are probably not necessary. Walk around front to Woodward and just go grab a seat. They’ll come around with water soon enough.Parking: Parking lot for the Plaza behind Woodward“
“Just picked up a bottle of straight bourbon whiskey. I’m traveling /working . Picked up the bottle from Sam’s club lol. But lemme tell ya !! It’s great !!! Smooth tasty and quality stuff . Nice finish !!! Thanks everyone at traverse City whiskey Company?don’t hate I’m drinking out of plastic at a hotel ?“
“This spot is a fun addition to the Metro Detroit speakeasy expansion. Located in the basement of Oak & Reel, you check in at the front desk and they direct you to the back elevator, which you take downstairs and wander the hallways to get to the speakeasy. Pretty standard speakeasy vibe and very solid drink list. Service was friendly and prompt and checked in regularly to make sure we made other plans. Altogether a fun spot and well worth checking out!“
“I was there tonight and it was turnt! Whoever the dj was i hope he there every Saturday it was a young cat he did his thing on the 1’s & 2’s. The drinks were fire too shout out to the ladies behind the bar!! Keep it up encore ill be back next week.“
“Entering the The High Dive is like being transported to the Victorian Era. The cocktail parlor is filled with stained glass, Victorian fixtures and hand crafted wall paper. The owner/bar tender is a world renowned artist who has poured his heart into this establishment and it shows. The cocktails are delicious and they use fresh ingredients. The drinks are also reasonably priced. Most nights The High Dive is supporting local artist and DJ's and has some of the best techno nights. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I definitely recommend stopping in for a drink or checking out one of their events.“
“We tucked into the bar on a Saturday night for an early evening cocktail. They have a Saturday happy hour menu! So...the lovely barkeep took our drink order quickly so we could partake. A shared Caesar salad and zoodle/pasta dish later and we are sufficiently suffonsified. House made sauces are delicious (we tried the marinara but I'd like to try palomino next time) and there is no pressure to drink like fish or overindulge in food. DJ was setting up as we were leaving, so I'm sure the hospitable atmosphere only improves. We'll return.“
“Listen guys! I’m speaking to my Detroit natives and my tourists.. this place is the place to BE! Yesterday I visited this establishment and I had ‘what I thought’ was the best experience but after returning for seconds the VERY NEXT DAY… I’d have to say that each time I visit the experience gets better and better. I absolutely love this place. Not only because it’s black owned but because they stand on straight business. The food was exceptional And you can tell that they take pride in providing quality service. I order the pasta 10/10, the sweet & spicy shrimp 10/10 & the chicken sandwich 10/10.. no exaggeration.. yeah so check them out“
“We tried Ronin Sushi the other day and it was decent. The vibe was cool, be aware that the lounge upstairs some of the seats don't have backs! I would recommend the lounge for a drink but not for a full meal - worth the wait for a table downstairs. The shrimp with yuzu app was tasty, the sashimi was fresh, sushi was okay (not bad but not super memorable). My boyfriend and I both got the whiskey sours and they were very tart. I would come back for the ambiance and the apps/sake. Random critique but organize the menus! It was kind of challenging to shuffle through the three menus front and back as some had similar food items/cocktails and others had different. Streamlining the menu would do wonders.“
“This is honestly my favorite coffee spot. Wonderful pastries, lovely coffee and atmosphere. However, this morning I had a strange experience— got my usual order (honey lavender latte), but it tasted burnt and like there was no syrup in it at all (totally not a typical experience there, btw). With anxiety coursing through my veins, I gathered the courage to ask for my latte to be remade, which I have never done, and hate doing. The woman at the register gave me a suspicious look, almost like I was trying to pull a fast one, or steal something even though I was handing her the full cup of coffee to be replaced. Just very hesitant to adhere to such a request. It made me feel ridiculous for even asking... Instead, a barista, who was absolutely lovely, approached me and kindly offered to remake it for me. It was delicious. I was thankful for her willingness to interject into that conversation and help out (even though she was already incredibly busy and working her tail off.) All-in-all though, my experience with the woman at the register made me feel yucky and unvalued, as someone who very regularly spends $7.50 on a coffee there.“
“Super impressed with The Oakland always. Their staff is always super knowledgeable and ready to tell you about their cocktails or make a recommendation. Recently went during their Happy Hour (every day but Saturday, open-6:31, I believe!), and had such a delightful time at the bar. The drinks were as strong and smooth as ever and super unique without being pretentious. So glad Ferndale has an adorable speakeasy like this!“
“Just returned from a trip to Japan where we experienced several Karaoke rooms and this was the first Karaoke room we have been to in Michigan. The room was great and we were able to get right into a small room and it was perfect for our small group of four. (The small room is good for up to 8).The sound system was really good along with the microphone quality. Their TV is set to a YouTube premium account so there are no ads and it worked perfectly to pick any music.I was not a fan of any of the food; lots of fried options. The drinks were okay, but we were not really there for the food and drinks. For a small group of four the cost of an evening three hour room was expensive because it is the same price no matter the amount of people ($148 total with tax and service fees or amount $50 an hour)We were in the room for three hours and it went by in a flash! Really had a great time“
