“My daughter and I enjoyed a Mothers Day lunch here together. The food was fresh and tasty. We shared a strawberry salad and hamburger. Kitchen kindly split the entrees for us in back. Nice wine offerings and mimosas. Popovers came out fresh from the oven served with their strawberry butter- yummy!“

I ordered the fajita salad and it was delicious! They also said they have soft serve margaritas so I'll be trying that next time! Even got to speak with one of the owners and he said they recently purchased it and reopened just last week so I'm excited to see what they do with the place

“Went here for a little get together with friends and it was super cute. It’s a small little pace right on Main Street but super warm inviting atmosphere. It’s intimate and inviting. My go to drink is gin and tonic and here I their lavender gin & tonic. They distill their own spirits and have a large selection of freshly made syrup and mixers. I didn’t have the opportunity to stay long, but I would love to come back again and try some of their other concoctions.“

“Came here for my Wife’s Birthday and it was an amazing experience. Waitress and staff were extremely nice and friendly. They made my wife’s birthday feel extra special for her. The food was absolutely spectacular. We had gotten the Brisket Quesadilla and Turkey Sando as our main dishes. We had then gotten the Honk Kong French Toast as a dessert and it was all easily 5/5’s. Everything was delicious and made and cooked perfectly. Plenty of food for the price and amazing value and absolutely delicious. We’d easily recommend this place to anyone!“

“Great service and the food was delicious had a slim jim and a grilled hamberger with French fries. Our car broke down in there parking lot and the employees were so very helpful trying to help get it started before the tow truck came. We will definitely go back.“
“Mackenzie's Tavern is a wonderful local drinking and dining experience with something for everyone. The owner and staff are very friendly and efficient in their service. The tavern has a very extensive seafood menu towards the end of the week like Thursday and Friday and sometimes Wednesdays. The rest of the time the tavern has a very good bar food type menu featuring Burger or some such. The only day that the kitchen is not open is Sundays when you can bring in your own food or have it delivered. The tavern has a breakfast service that goes from opening till around lunch time and the omelettes are huge and fill you up. You can watch most local sports there and the tavern features an 85-in TV that is surprisingly large for the size of the tavern.“

“I planned ahead and made a reservation in advance on 12/3 for Thursday 12/18 at 745pm for 3 people at The Viridian Room. We specifically made this reservation through their Instagram/Resy. My two friends and I show up, and not only is the Viridian Room closed, but so is French Toast, despite their hours stating the close at 9pm. I tried calling to no avail, and ended up going to another Clawson bar, Local, instead. We were so excited to try this place and extremely disappointed we were not able to attend. Attached below is the confirmation of my reservation.
Edit 1/16/26: The manager had reached out to me via text and was kind and apologetic. She offered to reschedule the reservation and provide a free appetizer. My friends and I went back last night and had wonderful drinks and a snack! The bartenders were very kind and prompt. We will definitely go back. Thank you for making things right!“

“If you are contemplating where to dine…go here…you won’t be disappointed. Gabi and Gabriel are such gracious and hospitable owners of this diamond in the rough in hazel park. Service is 10/10. Their food…100/10. Their drinks are plentiful and their food is all authentic and homemade. Their Langos with garlic sauce is AMAZING…Honestly my wife and I have tried almost all of their staples (they also have rotating chef specials) and we have not found one thing that we don’t like. Their “from the woods” polenta is fantastic for vegetarians. There is something for everyone and once you go…you will keep going back for more.“

They have a wide range of flavors & options, and there is something for everyone. They have more than just wine...they also meads, beers, ciders & a small menu of flatbreads, snacks, and salads.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. They were knowledgeable and personable.

“We were instantly greeted and seated. Our server Robby was awesome. The entire staff was friendly. Chef Johnny is very talented and friendly. I love that he greets all guest and will even bring your food out himself. For starters we had the shrimp and crab cakes. They were crispy on the outside and melted in your mouth. The surprise with these was that there was whole shrimp inside. We loved it. The sauce on top was just the right amount. The salmon with saffron rice, coconut curry sauce and green apple slaw was the best salmon I've had in a while. The pairing was new for me but it worked. The salmon was juicy and perfectly cooked. When paired with everything on my plate it was like fireworks. Everything popped and was amazing. My husband had the beef strudel. Now he was thinking it was gonna be like a beef wellington but no. When he put his fork into the perfectly crispy flaky crust and into the most tender beef either of us have ever had, OMG. With the first bite all he could do was say "WOW"(sorry about how loud he was). The flavors of that plate were incredible. The blueberry cheesecake was the icing on the cake. It was perfect. Sweet but not too sweet and the smear of lemon sauce on the side elevated the flavors. The drinks. I had the rainforest and my husband had the Johnny Manhattan. When we saw how small the glasses were we were definitely worried. That feeling quickly faded with the first sip. The drinks may be small but they are strong and delicious. We had to pace ourselves with those. Overall, I give this place a 10/10 and will definitely be back again soon. Thank you to everyone there for a great time and for great service.“

“White Wolf Japanese Patisserie is an absolute gem. Their pastries boast unique flavors that are a delightful departure from the ordinary. The Yuzu Cheesecake and Azuki Red Bean Paste Swiss Roll Cake are must-tries, bursting with authentic and refreshing tastes. The Matcha Latte and Raspberry Rose Yuzu are equally exceptional and perfect for a refreshing treat. The staff at White Wolf are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The female chef went above and beyond by offering us a sample of their delicious banana bread, which was a nice touch. It’s evident that everyone who works there is genuinely happy, and this joy is reflected in the quality of their products. If you’re looking for a place that combines unique Japanese flavors with top-notch service, White Wolf Japanese Patisserie is the place to go. Highly recommended!“

We dined at Beppe last Saturday and it's obvious that For the Wise is a sister restaurant yet it has its own personality. This restaurant is sure to become a favorite in Royal Oak.“

“Came with a group of 5 of us on a weekday evening. We were immediately greeted by a few people telling us that they were short staffed so that threw us off at first. But we decided to give it a chance anyway and be patient.
Food was okay. Nothing spectacular but also still good. The shawarma nachos were the best thing we had. Delicious. We got the taster platter and personally, I only liked the red pepper dip all the others were a little bland.
We then got the mixed platter which was $65 and felt like there wasn’t much meat on the platter. The food that we did get was good, but again, nothing to brag about.
The service, although they warned us about being short staffed was not bad and our server was great!“

“Came to town to celebrate my cousin's upcoming wedding and I stopped here with her for some cocktails. The atmosphere was perfect, we used the outdoor seating area and enjoyed hanging out for a few hours. “Went there yesterday with my husband for our anniversary dinner. The decor and atmosphere is lovely. We had a drink at the bar before getting a table for dinner. All staff were super friendly and courteous. I had the Perch Piccata which was amazing. It was a very large portion so I had plenty to take home for another meal. My husband enjoyed his Bolognese which was also a very large portion. Highly recommend this place and will definitely go back soon.“

“Stopped in at Rocking Brews after catching a show at the Royal Oak Music Theatre, and I have to say, I was absolutely blown away by this place!
The first thing that hits you is the sheer amount of rock memorabilia everywhere. Whether it's authentic pieces or reproductions, it doesn't really matter because the entire place is just incredible to look at. There's so much going on visually that you could probably spend hours just checking everything out.
Everyone working there was super friendly. We hung out on the main floor for a little while before making our way upstairs to the second floor, where a live cover band was playing. And WOW, these guys were absolutely amazing! The crowd was completely into it, too. People weren't just hanging out with music playing in the background. They were actually watching and enjoying the band like they were at a full-blown rock concert. The energy was fantastic!
After the band wrapped up, things eventually quieted down a bit, and they switched over to a DJ to close out the night. It was a great transition because we were able to grab some drinks, hang out, and actually have conversations with friends without having to yell over the music.
The beers were solid, and the entire atmosphere was just a great experience from beginning to end.
Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try the food this time around, and we never made it up to the third-floor balcony area. But to be fair, we were having such a great time where we were that we didn't feel like we were missing anything!
If I had to point out one negative, it would be the flooring. For such a brand-new establishment, I was surprised to see what looked like some pretty significant damage to portions of the floor, almost like water damage. Kind of strange for a place this new, but I'm sure it's something they'll eventually get sorted out.
Overall, what an awesome addition to Royal Oak! Great atmosphere, friendly people, solid beers, incredible memorabilia, and some seriously good live entertainment. I honestly can't wait to come back, explore the rest of the place, and finally give the food a try.

“I had a pleasant experience with this place. All of the food seemed fresh, the service is attentive and the atmosphere is very vibrant.
The 2 times in which I went, our group sat outside, being that it was summer. They had trivia, which I assume is every Wednesday.
As for food, I got the caprese sandwich on the first occasion and the then the Tomato basil soup on the second. Both were good but the caprese sandwich was very good. While the menu is not huge, it does offer the basics and has a few healthier options, such as vegan dishes.
Overall, the atmosphere and food qualiy make this place worth checking out.“
