“We live nearby but had never visited MacKenzie Tavern until recently. Glad we did! The food is quite good, especially when Yamin is in the kitchen. Pasta dishes are always on point. Good gyro, too. Domestic beer prices are among the best I can find. I've seen some reviews that describe the place as "a bit of a dive." And your point is? It's nothing fancy but neither am I. Try it. You'll like it.“

“We have been coming to this venue for decades; this used to be a health food restaurant called Friar Tucks, where it was conveniently located next to a Weight Watcher meeting place. With all the competition in the area who can blame the owner for flipping this place to have a new modern décor and added incentive of offering alcohol. The wine and cocktail prices are excellent choices with fair prices.

The inside is inviting with an option to sit at either a table or a booth. The new paint and decorations are easy on the eye and offer a relaxing vibe.

There are a lot of choices on the menu, much of the menu remains from it's previous offerings (before renovations). The soups are rock-star delicious. Mom had the Chicken Pot Pie which was dry but she did have a side of gravy to perk it up. I had Fish and chips; the fish was soggy and so/so, the fries were crispy and hot. The silverware was nice and sturdy...not as common as one might think so I appreciated it. The prices are a bit high but not unreasonable given the inflation we have all had to endure the past few years.

“Love The Oakland - just a great, dark cozy cocktail lounge with good music. I had the Green Badu this time, and it was just perfect. They also have a nice list of n/a drinks - the B Nektar SOber cider was so delicious and sugar free! Rare in a mocktail. Service is excellent, and it's a great stop before or after dinner, or as a break while holiday shopping.“

“Went to FrameBar yesterday for the BirriaBar pop-up with chef Eddie Vargas. Food was excellent and a great value for the amount of food at the price point. I loved that the chef was making the rounds in the dining room to ensure every customer was satisfied. The birria platter and quesabirria were both great, as well as the salsas, queso, and aguacates. Lastly, the bar had good Mexican-inspired drink options, with the smoked Oaxacan old fashioned being my favorite for both taste and presentation. Great work all around.“

“We held our private event in the enclosed patio at Firebird in Troy. The patio was heated and decorated to look like a lodge. All of our guests felt like they were in a homey environment. The food and the service was impeccable. Our guests were so pleased at the attention to detail and the promptness of the serving staff. The event manager, Jenna, made the entire planning process easy and stress free. She helped us set up our buffet menu and was there day of assisting in decorating and making sure everything was in order. I would highly recommend hosting a private event here and plan to do so myself for future events!“

“Where do I even start! This is hands down, the premier cigar bar! I’ve gone to a few others and they don’t compare to DCs. Chris and Donny (owner) has done an incredible job. First off, the ventilation. On a packed night, the place isn’t even overly cloudy or smokey, great ventilation. Their humidor also offers a great selection of cigars at affordable prices. Next the food. Everything in the menu is top notch and other very affordable. The steak bites, deviled eggs, burgers, fries, everything, 5 out of 5. Now, the atmosphere, unlike any other cigar bar. It’s classy, looks good, clean, and always has a great mix in music and tv selection. They also have a hell of a drink selection, very impressive. Lastly, the staff. I’ve become a regular over the last six months and have had the pleasure to work with some of the best in the business. Sarah and Rheanna are amazing, they don’t get any better than these two! They’re friendly, treat you like they’ve known you for years, professional and know their business. Most would say they do this for the tips, they don’t. They do it because that’s just who they are, just friendly and sweet. Joe is also one hell of a guy! Everybody on the staff makes time for you. The moment you walk in, they greet you by name. They have an incredible staff, that’s what keeps you coming back. “Had a wonderful Sweetest Day dinner at Alchemi. Our server was great. Checked in and topped off water when needed but gave us some space, which I appreciate. Drinks were good and priced fairly. We shared the Alchemi salad and the rib appetizer. The salad was fresh and full of different flavors. The ribs were cooked perfectly. We both loved our entrees. Chu Chee Salmon had all my wife's favorite flavor profiles. My Waygu Beef Strudel melted in my mouth but had the satisfying crush of a puff pastry. We will certainly be back to try more of the menu.“

“Great place to relax and have a cigar and listen to great live music! The drinks are good and the food is very good as well. The only downside is the hours. I am retired and like to smoke during the day, and even when I worked, I would have a cigar at a lounge on my days off. All other cigar lounges are open by 11am. I would be here a lot if they opened earlier. However, I am at other places now instead of giving them the business. I don't understand the hours at all. Makes no sense!“

The atmosphere was perfect, we used the outdoor seating area and enjoyed hanging out for a few hours. “Great place for date night! Walking in, the ambience reminded me of South Beach Miami - contemporary, pop latino music, low lighting... and love the individual tabletop lamps.

Chips are homemade daily and passed our initial criteria of good start! My husband thoroughly enjoyed the steak fajitas and had more than plenty to enjoy for lunch the next day. I tried what was recommended by the owner Chris - the beef Quesabirria. A new twist of a "taco" for me. Tender corn tortillas stuffed generously with juicy short rib beef. I like the extra spice, so a generous side of fresh jalapeno was also supplied at my request. For me, this was an easier dish to eat with a fork & take advantage of a quick dip into the side beef consomme. Excellent suggestion - would order this again.

We wanted to watch college football and there were plenty of large TVs within the bar area... as well as scattered about the dining room.

“My server informed me at the very end of my meal that the restaurant has lied to customers for over a year about having gluten free carrot cake and they have just been feeding people with intolerances gluten containing cake. So disrespectful. I got glutened after I spent $200 on my meal and was assured I had chosen gluten free dishes and precautions were being taken. Like look, I get it. Food allergies are a pain in the *ss but if you can't accommodate people with them don't lie to your customers. There are lots of other places in the metro area who do take allergies and medical conditions seriously. Way to ruin my birthday. Im going to be sick for a whole week because I have Celiac Disease.
