“Oh MAN Rocco's is the place I have searched for in vain until last year when I tried them for the first time. Since that first meatball sub I have had almost every sandwich on the menu and so far not one has disappointed! Today I had the Corner Deli and was transported to Italian paradiso! In case you non-Italians did not know, ciabatta is the Italian baguette and Rocco's bakes many fresh loaves several times per day! Usually it is still warm from the oven even if you get a cold sandwich! There is no better sandwich bread in my progenic-Italian opinion! They are in Midtown on Cass just East of Mack. Try them if you have yet to do so. You will thank the gods!“

The bread basket and olive oil is a wonderful extra touch. The wine selection is extensive and reasonably priced. The kitchen is very receptive to special request, like pasta with a “dry bowl” without sauce “swimming” in the bottom of the bowl. Great vegetarian offerings as well.  Server Jackie was professional, crisp and attentive without being intrusive. The room is exceptionally comfortable with elegance and sophistication but without pretense. Living in the city for a decade, for rounds, Supinos was always my default option. They make an excellent pie. Some come close, but lack that quality and attention to detail. I moved out of the city to F-Dale... drove by this spot and gave it shot... Yall, this pizza absolutely slaps. Ive showed every friend in the city this spot including restaurant owners, food critics, and industry people and they all unanimously agree, Roccos is a juggernaut of a pizza. We're lucky to have access to round pizza of this calibre. Im going to come clean and go as far as saying, Roccos is the best round in both Detroit and the burbs. Im really not exaggerating. You guys have to try this out. Get a Large round pepperoni or large cheese, youll be pleasantly surprised to have found your new favorite pizza.“
