“I eat at this place about once or twice a month and I only ever get the Steak Kow Combo. It's very flavorful and I hardly feel like im eating the vegetables that they put in there. They just taste like the broth with their respective textures. The ladies that work here are always nice. Can't really say much for atmosphere because it's carry-out only and has been this way for years“

“We have dined for breakfast on various occasions. The tastes of the foods was amazing. The presentation of the plates was breath taking, absolutely beautiful. The only shortfall we found in the restaurant was the BLINDING sun on the East side windows. A good set of adjustable blinds would be a welcomed addition on those East side windows. All in all, the food was so good and so hot, the presentation was beautifully displayed and the staff were friendly and well experienced. We will come back and recommend restaurant to others.“

“I used to come here over 25 years ago with a friend who lived in the area. Just had them again last week for the first time in 25 years and it's just as good as I remembered! The man who runs this place is so friendly and kind, a pleasure to speak to! The almond Chicken was fantastic! Eggrolls and rice are amazing too! They give you the largest portions I've ever gotten from any Chinese restaurant! It's enough to feed 3 people easily. Prices are fair as well, I will definitely start coming here again when I'm in the area. Delicious!!“

“I met some friends on Saturday morning for breakfast at the Imperial Diner in LaSalle. This was my first visit and I was impressed by the atmosphere and cleanliness of this spacious old time style diner. Our waitress, Valentina, was very friendly and attentive to our needs. I could tell that she clearly enjoys her job, which was evident by her welcoming smile and conversation. I ordered a veggie omelette which included toast and and home fries! It was very good! I would recommend The Imperial Diner if you are looking for a place to meet with a group for breakfast, lunch or dinner!“

“This place has excellent Chinese food you can tell because their phone never stops ringing there’s always people coming and going and I usually have to wait 25 to 30 minutes to get my food which is unusual for Chinese restaurants seeing how it seems like they’re always five minutes long and you can get whatever you want, but if they have good food, you’ll have to wait, which is normally not a problem it’s worth“

“I have eaten here several times over the last few years, the food is always fresh, hot, and the portions are HUGE. The place is a "mom and pop". it's ran by the owners, a husband-and-wife team. Because it's just the two of them when it gets busy it takes them awhile to answer the phone and there could be as much as a 30–45-minute wait for your food. It's also carry out only. If you don't mind the no dine in option or the wait, this will probably be one of the best Chinese food places you have eaten at in the downriver area.“

“Really nice folks and beautiful interesting interior. Been on my list opening 4 months ago. Ordered Pupu Platter, Chinese Scallion Pancakes, Large Chinese Veggies Soup and Chicken Egg Foo Young. Surprised when eating inside no plates or silverware. Everything brought out in to go containers that's okay. Absolutely fantastic Delicious Scallion Pancakes not found in many places. The quart of Spot packed full was good except broth zero flavor like water. Chicken Egg Foo Young nothing like ever had weird crunchy patties with very small amount of gravy. The very good Rice and a mega amount. Egg Roll spot on Wonderful. The bad absolutely worse ever Pupu Platter Chicken Wings dry, Crab Rangoon Yuk, Shrimp heavy batter couldn't taste Shrimp. Ribs just ok, Spring Rolls a winner and what they call Teriyaki Beef I know as Balamaki was great. I'm willing to give them another chance to change my 3 star rating. Great effort by cook just not up to par with dozen other Chinese restaurants in the area.“

The General Tao chicken is excellent now!
The beef & broccoli is very good!
The Curry chicken is excellent!!
Szechuan chicken is poor!
The Pepper steak is excellent!

Shrimp egg rolls wife likes, I don't!

Again, this place is improving as they go.
I haven't had a Pepper steak this good in 40 years since original Wongs in Lincoln Park.

“This is my first visit to Mandarin Kitchen. I ordered #4 almond chicken combination with wonton soup and egg roll and hot tea. The almond chicken was pretty good topped with brown gravy. Wonton soup and egg roll was nice and hot and (egg roll was) crispy. 4 and 1/2 stars.“

“I did a carry out. General Tso chicken...was terrible no white meat all dark (my fault I should of asked)The meat that was there was very tiny pieces with alot of thick hard batter over cooked some pieces was just all batter 1st and last time I will go.“

I ordered me and my boyfriend sweet and sour chicken with shrimp fried rice (upcharge) for lunch one with an egg roll the other with the egg drop soup. It is so hard to find a Chinese restaurant that actually has stuff in their rice that gives it flavor a lot of places have absolutely plain fried rice which I am not a fan of not a onion or sprout in sight but theirs does and I’ll be back to try other dishes. “My go to Chinese food spot, any day of the week! Their S&S chicken is absolutely delicious! They spice up the s&s sauce with bell peppers and the flavor profile is simply mouth watering! General Tso? Delicious! Want the lo mein? Go for it, it is also delicious! Pepper steak is tender and fresh! Fried rice is perfect! Egg rolls? Delectable! You can't go wrong when choosing Hong Kong Inn!!!“

“It's not a sit down place, it's get great food and take it home place. Been going here for years have tried others but always just once and then come back. You can watch them cook there's no instant rice, lol, or anything that I have ever had that wasn't cooked properly, not sure what some of these comments are about but seriously literally have ate here over 10 years and never had a bad meal.“

“NEW REVIEW from February 2026: RECOMMEND!!: this location has improved enormously over time. I took a couple years of not visiting this location but have returned the last year and a half to two years ordering from here monthly, sometimes weekly. I grew up with Panda Express never going more than a month without it the last 12 years of my life.
This location has got it going on now! The service is fast and friendly, shout out to Crystal, we’ve noticed she’s always there when we go and everything is perfect every time!
I am so happy for this location as it’s the perfect spot to stop by when out and about.

Old Review from 4 years ago: DO NOT RECOMMEND! Panda Fanatic here, visiting every month in cities on our drive from Michigan to the south to visit family to wherever there is one on our travels through the US. THIS IS THE WORST of the WORST Panda Express I've ever been to. Dining room is closed so only drive thru available, but even with only drive thru it takes them 11 mins per car and they only take orders one car at a time. I have visited this Panda 4 times prior to writing this review in order to be sure it wasnt just a one day screw up, this is a normal thing at this location. Twice, when finally reached the speaker (25 mins later) they were out of half the items on the menu and another 10 to 15 min wait for items.. makes no sense as I have friends who manage Panda Express Stores in other cities in Michigan and they have explained the process, times, etc. Therefore they are lying or just lazy at this location. When recieved food it is always taste like old sitting food. This is a new location as of a year ago and I'm not sure how long itll last if it continues this bad...Do Not Recommend as you will have wasted your time and money for bad service and food!“
