“-Vinai MN- My friend and I wanted to try Chef Yia's restaurant due to being homesick and wanting hmong food. We were met with such great service and sat where we could see the work area. Chef Yia was so kind and started us off with a complimentary appetizer, rice Curry balls. We ordered and the food came so fast. As soon as I took a bite, my eyes started to get teary because it tasted like food from home. I started fanning myself to not cry which Chef Yia saw and asked if the food was too spicy. We then started to explain that we were not from MN and were feeling a bit homesick and how the food reminded us of home. Chef Yia then said, here let's do this. He returned with a pot of beef soup that consisted of mushrooms, bamboo shoots, beef and green onion and white rice and shared that this dish was one of those dishes that we would eat at gathering and events. We we so shocked and so at loss with his kindness and compassion. We both took a bite and immediately lighted up. It tasted like my mom's cooking 💓. As we were nearing the end of our meal, Chef Yia told us not to stuff ourselves too full and surprised us with a complimentary dessert which further awed us. We were so lost at words for Chef Yia's kindness, generosity and comfort. We chose the Lava Cake and it was soooo good! I normally don't like sweets but we devoured this 😋. 1000/10 would recommend.“

“I hosted a welcome drinks event for ~80 guests at Norseman the night before my wedding and was incredibly impressed by the quality of the service, drinks, and overall atmosphere. We had originally reserved the outdoor patio space, but unexpected sideways rain forced us indoors. The staff at Norseman was exceptionally gracious and accommodating and helped us transition inside, which we all greatly appreciated.

Our guests had a wonderful time, and many commented on how much they enjoyed the DJ and the overall experience. I would highly recommend Norseman for any private event, and I'm confident both my husband and I (and many of our guests!) will be back in the future.“

I never would have gone into this place but I read it was associated with Petit Leon which I’ve loved, so I gave it a try. No, it is not a Mexican restaurant as I assumed ( Tijuana is in Mexico. Right?) The food has a more Asian origin ( Mapo rigatoni, scallion pancake..) and it’s delicious! The drinks were fresh and flavorful. It’s my new favorite place. “They have great food with tons of vegan options and a wonderful patio! Today I ordered my favorite dish a roti wrap and it accidentally came with chicken instead of the vegan chickpea version. That’s never happened to me there before. They felt really bad about it and made me a new one and comped my meal and that of my friend. That is above and beyond an excellent customer service. The food was fresh, delicious, and attractive, and portion sizes were ample - we left full, but without leftovers. Food prices are very reasonable; drink prices vary, and some are higher than others depending upon the spirits. The atmosphere is lively, and was a bit loud at the busiest time. “My waiter Addison was great and very attentive. However, the short rib sandwich was over cooked and over priced. On line there were a couple of items that I didn't see on the actual menu while at the restaurant. We were given the lunch menu at the front door, this really confused me, later Addison eventually figured it out. The rest of the experience was nice. The comedy acts were funny, except for the second to last guy, that totally bombed, as part of his act was to call all women bitches. He was poorly prepared, and otherwise was not funny at all, and should not be invited back.“

“Flora Room is a gorgeous cocktail bar located behind and beneath Chef Del Prado's steakhouse Porzana. Fortunately, I arrived at 5:30 PM on a Saturday, which was early enough to avoid a line and a velvet rope. I don't wait in line for anything unless I'm at a pharmacy, bakery, post office, or airport. Lines at restaurants and bars strike me as pretentious or bad management, and I don't tolerate either. However, I'm old, and at my age, nothing is worth waiting for unless it's a necessity.

I found a seat at the beautiful and expansive bar and looked around at the Del Prado design. The colors might be different, but Flora was reminiscent of Minari and Noma. All three add to the Twin Cities' cachet. However, I was taken aback by the attire I saw around me. People were dressed in shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers. It's friggen Saturday night Minneapolis. Have some class!

Flora Room was a lovely cocktail lounge, perfect for wooing, but don't expect to strike up a conversation with any of the bartenders. At these Del Prado joints, the staff must be trained not to engage. I'm out alone and enjoy talking. Bartenders used to be part of a lounge's attraction when I grew up in NYC. They learned your name, knew what you did, and gave you a hearty welcome. That, I guess, is not part of the culture in Minneapolis. Well, at least not at the Del Prado restaurants and bars. Chef Del Prado is from Argentina, and certainly, Argentina is one of the warmest and friendliest countries in the world, so I don't get it. I now live up the block from the Flora Room. I'm a neighbor and would like to be treated like one. Neighborly and the Flora Room are distant concepts.“

“Loved the food here. We got two plates to share along with a side and enjoyed every item.

The mushroom fettuccini was very good, with a few greens in the middle to offset the rich earthiness.

The jerk chicken was flavorful and tender. It came with a vinegary cucumber salad that was also tasty. The smashed yucca was maybe the best yucca I've ever had. It had a citrusy sauce in it that balanced the salty starchiness. Wonderful!

The cocktails were great too, and the patio seating has a great view of the river on a nice day. All in all, superb!“
