“This place is a solid dive bar that takes you right back to the '70s. It's not fancy, just good drinks at great prices. The place is super relaxed, and the crowd is friendly and laid-back. It’s in the heart of downtown. This bar is an adults type place, though—wouldn't recommend bring the kids. If you're looking for a no-frills spot to grab a drink and relax, this is it. Highly recommend!“

“Overall great atmosphere and the food is quite good other than the fries which gave me a yucky tummy from the grease. I was shocked, however, to be charged $7 for hot tea! SEVEN DOLLARS. Seriously? It's water and a cheap tea bag. 🤨 Another reason to stick with lukewarm tap water when eating out. Also be aware that there is a 2.9% fee for using a credit card. I'm not sure if it's noted on the menu but it's on the bottom of the check.“

“Pauly at the bar was great. The food was excellent, the homemade ranch was the best we've ever had, the flake salt on the fries was perfect. The homemade pickles and sauce and cheese on the dark horse burger were all great. The chocolate torte was one of the best desserts we've ever had, it was just like the middle of a truffle-mmmmmm“

“Absolutely the worst service. This is affiliated with University Club of Saint Paul notoriously known for terrible service. No attention to detail. We were served the wrong food. The service was significantly delayed and the food was mediocre at best. Don’t spend your money here until they fix this problem.“

“We stayed at the Marriott for a show at Grand Casino Arena. Ate dinner at Smorgies. Food was very good! No waitress, you order food from the QR code at each table, then bartenders run out to you. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating! Would eat there again! Very nice outdoor seating!“

“So thankful that Hope is at the hospital! During a few stays/visits here for family this has been my go to spot for something close, convenient, and tasty. Great coffee, great breakfast sandwiches, and convenient grab and go options too. Hope rules!“

“My girlfriend Kayla and I ventured to The Alchemist for the first time this past Saturday and we were NOT disappointed. Innovative & delicious cocktails, awesome steampunk decor, great atmosphere, and Katie & the rest of the crew who are absolutely smashing it. I'm giving this place 5 stars only because I can't give it more. Go in, sit down, and let whoever is behind that bar whip you up something delicious. I highly recommend the Death By Gin, easily one of the best cocktails I have had in as long as I can remember. You will not be disappointed. Can't wait to come back!!“
