I sensed immediately the moment the meal was set before me that it was was not just thrown together quick by a line or fry cook but rather prepared and plated by a higly trained and true master chef. I arrived alone 35 minutes prior to closing and I think they saved the best food for the last customer of the day! Seriously delishious. I can't stop thinking about it! “AMAZING! My boyfriend & I had brunch here & were shocked to realize that this place had been just down the street for months & we had no idea, which is nuts because the food was AWESOME. “I have been wanting to try this place and I’m really happy I was recently able to. The best part? Absolutely loved the atmosphere. Even the bathrooms are cute! It was a really clean place with super adorable dog themed decor. My food was also pretty good. I got the chicken tenders and French toast and I was happy with it. The worst part? Service was a tad slow. Our food took a bit to come out and the bathroom paper towel dispenser in the woman’s restroom wasn’t working but it was overall a good experience. I must also add that parking is not easy. Some got lucky and were able to find a spot right in front of the restaurant but a few of us had to park a block or two away. I was told there was a lot behind the restaurant but someone said they weren’t marked so they didn’t know it was for the restaurant but I’m not too sure about this.Parking: Hard to find. Not many spots open near the restaurant but I’m sure this depends on when you go. We went on a Sunday afternoon and we had a hard time finding spots.“

“The pizza is fantastic. They used to house Red's Savoy Pizza, and they kept the pizza kitchen equipment when Red's moved out. They have very good pizza options on the menu, and the ingredients/ construction of the pizza is well done. The bar is what you would expect at a VFW, and has a decent selection of beer on tap. Very friendly staff and atmosphere.“

“We were in town for a basketball tournament & a local recommended The Barrel House. There is a lack of parking so we almost didn't go in because there were cars parked everywhere. I called & they said there was no wait. We went into the dining room door first & you basically walk right into people eating, ha! So we turned around and went to the door further down which was the bar side. Worked out great being that's where we'd want to sit anyway! It was seat yourself & we were promptly greeted after sitting down. Our server was very personable. The food arrived quickly. She brought out mine & my husband's & said my sons pancake was almost done but she didn't want our food to get cold. I really appreciated that. When the pancake came out it was still steaming, delicious! We all really enjoyed our food. I had a sausage omlette with hash browns and my husband had a skillet. We will be back!“
“We decided to spend Spring Break in the Cities instead of somewhere warm and then a terrible blizzard hit. We ventured from our hotel to The Bulldog for a snack with our two tween/teen boys because we saw they had a kids menu. Our snacks and beer choices (for mom & dad) were great. We would have left with a perfectly pleased experience and been good. But the bartender who was solo and killin it found out we were going to a T’wolves game the next night. She is a huge fan and season ticket holder and when she found out our boys were fans she gave us an absolutely amazing hoodie that she had just scored. There's always some sort of entertainment here: poker tournaments, live music, or just great people watching. The clientele truly is a mix of all types of people, old and young. After just a few visits, they started greeting me with my usual drink.As far as the food, they have a lot of classic bar fare, but the wings are the best! I've tried all the flavors and the lemon pepper dry rub are my favorite. If you can't find your own table, it's common to grab a seat at someone else's to eat your food. “I stopped in here while in the middle of a rail-bus transfer. Right away I was greeted by staff. There was a group circled around the bar but no where else. TVs everywhere. I was told there was a special that day: tomato-basil soup and grilled cheese sandwich at a reasonable price so I decided to try that. A tall glass of water with lots of ice they kept refilled. I was offered more food at one point but I can't eat that much these days. I took a tour around and found they had two Skee-ball machines in back. They do have a change machine. The juke box was ultra-modern. I found a bucket of bingo stampers on one table. Overall, I found this to be a super nice place and would stop here again.“

We eventually ended up at a table inside that was in a super loud area.The host staff were able to switch us to a table by an open fire in their outside patio area.
