“An out of the way gem tucked into the corner of a tiny strip mall in Spring Lake Park, Mn. Very authentic decor with all the bells and whistles of a true Mexican restaurant. I've only had their taco plate because it's what i love. The fresh vegetables garnishes, the rice and refried beans make for an eye pleasing and taste bud loving delicious delight. Many locals find their way there at lunch time so it's a happy buzzing crowd that loves their great dishes. I'm glad I found this treasure and will indeed be back for more!“

“Excellent food and service! We ordered torta de pollo (chicken sandwich) and veggie burrito, both were delicious. Javier, the boss (el patron), took the time to chat with us. He told us they have a variety of original house salsas with different degrees of heat to choose from, we tried 2 and they were both very tasty. Everything had a true Mexican flavor! Very clean, it was full of Mexican and Latinamerican customers on a Sunday afternoon. It is a small restaurant inside a supermaket with a great team and genuine Mexican food. “Went for a happy hour for margaritas and a variety of appetizers. The queso was good, the nachos were excellent and all the drinks ordered by our party had unique ingredients and were excellent. The service was attentive and orders were delivered quickly. All orders are prepaid, so no open tabs or split checks (just order and pay separately). A la carte tacos were $5-6 each, so that can add up but the fish taco was tasty!“

“Finding a late-night taco option for our wedding was way harder than I expected! After months of calls and emails with tons of taco trucks and taco bars, we finally found Lulu’s Salsa—and they ended up being an amazing choice!

I have Celiac disease, so finding someone who could accommodate gluten-free needs was a top priority. Lulu’s Salsa worked with us to make sure everything was safe for me to eat, which I so appreciated.

I stopped by one day after work to try some tacos, planning to just grab one chicken and one beef taco to share with my husband. While I was there, I saw a birria quesadilla on the menu and decided to grab that too. Lulu’s Salsa actually covered the tacos as a trial, which was such a thoughtful gesture! We also got to sample all their salsas—everything was absolutely delicious. Truly 10/10 tacos!

For our wedding, we went with ground beef and shredded chicken tacos (with all the toppings included), plus trays of Spanish rice, chips, and guacamole. We ordered 150 tacos total, and the pricing was incredible—all of that for under $700! Every other vendor we got quotes from was between $900 and $1,600, so this was such a win for us.

The only hiccup was on the day-of timing. We had planned for tacos to arrive at 9:00 p.m., but they didn’t get there until around 9:36 p.m. I had guests asking where the tacos were, and I ended up having to step off the dance floor to call and check in. It all worked out in the end, but I’d recommend they ask for a “day-of contact” for future weddings so someone other than the bride or groom can handle those details.

Overall, though, Lulu’s Salsa was wonderful to work with, and their food was outstanding. If you’re looking for delicious, affordable tacos for your event—especially if you have dietary restrictions—they’re 100% worth checking out! 🌮💃“

I live for Mexican food and honestly this food was really top of the list. Everyone at the table indicated that the food was the best tasting they have had for a Mexican fare. Not just saying this. “Today’s taco stop took me to Carnitas Don Tacho in St. Paul — a humble little spot that feels like it was pulled straight from the streets of Mexico and dropped onto the East Side. If you're searching for tacos that don’t need to be dressed up with gimmicks or gourmet buzzwords, this is your place.

I ordered two carnitas tacos, one pork belly, and one asada. Each came nestled in warm, double-layered corn tortillas with just enough toast to hold their own — no tearing, no soggy fold, just sturdy, chewy goodness. The meat? Juicy, flavorful, and portioned in a way that made me smile. One of my favorite ways to judge a taco is by the pickup test: when you grab it, does a little meat spill out? If so, that taco is speaking to you — whispering, “There’s more where that came from.” These tacos had plenty to say.

On top came a few crisp radish slices for texture and refreshment, plus a generous handful of lime wedges — not just one sad sliver like some places hand out. Two salsas came with the tacos: a fiery red that bites back, and a smooth, mild green that cools things down. I alternated bites like a spicy tango, chasing heat with a little lime and verde relief.

I also treated myself to a fancy Mexican Coke in the glass bottle — because when you're eating tacos this legit, it just feels right. But for those keeping score, I didn’t include that in the cost breakdown. Without drinks, we paid about $20 for six tacos — a total steal for the quality and portion size.

“I truly think this is the best Mexican food in Anoka County! Both locations! Ham Lake location is inside of the BP gas station right off of Constance and 65, you can eat inside or get takeout. They have their own app which makes online ordering a breeze! I feel like this is the best hidden food gem around, I’m assuming people either don’t realize it’s there or are turned off because it’s located inside of a BP. “I wish it was a star point system to review. I usually love britos burrito. The location on Nicollet is really convenient for me. I would probably give it three stars. I always ask for one scoop of rice and they always give me extra. I ask for a little bit of corn and they put a heaping scoop on the one thing that really frustrates me is that when I ask for extra cheese, they put a pinch on and if I ask for more, they get angry and tell me that I’m going to have to pay for it. Love the margaritas but now I am spoiled, I tried one with Milagro silver tequila on the rocks. It is excellent! The Columbia Heights locale is my favorite, and I have tried each of the others! I have yet to try the patio in the summertime, so I can't tell you about it. The stained glass windows are amazing! Busy bustling place! I love it! And the staff is excellent! If I want to change an option on the menu, the staff is very accommodating. I would give this place 5 stars!
