“Loved Hey Bear. They had a really great egg biscuit sandwhich. I'd usually get the chorizo breakfast burrito. It was all so well priced, filling, and tasted great.

They announced a temporary closure starting July 3rd while they reworked the menu and potentially renovated. But I stopped by just last week and the sign explaining the closure had been removed. The large sign and tarp covering the windows had also been removed. In its place was an open sign and a completely unrelated restraunt with no branding.

Hey Bear has been radio silent since they announced the closing and it seems like they are gone for good. Extremely unfortunate. The area really benefited from a good to-go breakfast spot. My commute to work is now lacking a good breakfast option. Very sad to see them go so silently. What seemed like a break turned into a sudden closure.“

“I recently bought an espresso machine and a nice grinder and wanted to find a local-ish roaster to buy beans from regularly. We tried two others and weren't blown away but then I did some research and found Roots Roasting. We bought their Classic Espresso beans online and it took me maybe 2 or 3 shots to dial in and when I did—wow! We liked them so much that today we drove from Somerset, WI just to buy a fresh bag and to try their coffee in the shop. I went with a spiced mocha and my wife got "something fun" and they are both absolutely delicious! We will be back and we will continue to order beans online if we can't make the drive. Really welcoming environment and the neighborhood is nice too. Great job Roots Roasting!“

“Fantastic coffee, incredible apple fritters. Staff were kind and attentive. They have a large coffee roasting oven behind the counter, so the entire place smells heavenly. Only one bathroom though, so don’t drink your coffee too quick.

“I’ve eaten here three times. First place I’ve tried since moving to St. Paul. Can definitely say if you want a good breakfast/lunch this is the place to go. Everything is decently portioned for those who love big meals or would like some food for leftovers overs to enjoy later. Out of what I’ve had I’d recommend the Onigiri (specifically the salmon and pickled onions), any of their fruit teas, and the bacon and Swiss crepe (honestly any of them sound great though). All the food is fresh ingredients and not frozen.

Atmosphere is very chill and down to earth. Very cozy and comfort oriented. Only complaint is that if it’s busy not a lot of room to work with and can be a little loud. When it’s slower very nice place to hang out with friends and listen to the music they play.

“Everything was great except it is small at this location so can feel a bit cramped. Also getting in and out with a car can be tricky if there’s heavy street traffic and sometimes the lot can be full. Not a huge deal but something to be aware of. Otherwise nice staff, quick service and the same quality you expect from the ‘Bou. I’d give 4.5 stars if I could.“

“I finally made it out to Caribou Coffee for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The folks behind the counter were very polite and welcoming, and the cashier was kind enough to help me check in on my mobile app to score my reward points.

I like that they had a little spot on the wall for the employees to showcase their hobbies and interests. I only ordered the maple waffle breakfast sandwich to take home to eat- even though it got a little smooshed in my bag on my walk home, it was still warm and delicious when I got around to eating it. I would happily take another walk back over to order again.“

“We went to the cities to see Evanescence on the 20th of September and had layover time for the concert to start so my husband and I walked from the venue to Little Brazil. Unfortunately, we got absolutely drenched walking back to the show. Not only that, but we forgot our precious signed posters from the band at our table . The staff saved our posters and kept them safe until we made it back to get them the next day which we truly appreciated. They would have been destroyed by the weather otherwise. We were SO enamored with this gem of a place, it was WORTH the soaked clothes, chattering teeth and watching the rest of the concert soaked through! There is definitely something for everyone whether it be coffee, dessert, sandwiches. They also have a market of imported goods to try like chocolate, candies, snacks etc. Now whenever we are near the cities, it's going to be a must stop! 💖“

Atmosphere is perfect for those that want a stop spot by themselves and has a nice outdoor patio to catch the sun on if you're wanting that nature touch while eating. Parking is a little tricky but not a problem, street parking only. However, the turnaround for catching a spot is quick. Convenient pickup orders too I noticed! Nice spot to try and stop in!“

“I frequent this location a couple times a month. The baristas are fun to talk to and consistently deliver well-made beverages. I often get the mini turkey bacon sandwich and a matcha lemonade. The only draw back to this location is how small it is. The unique location offers a wide range of clientele. Rarely, but sometimes, customers are quite loud despite the small area. This place would not be the best for a private conversation or long laptop work days.“

I know the pasties are also the best in the twin cities, the baked goods are top shelf and mouthwatering as well. If you are in the twin cities metro area I cannot recommend the Finnish bistro enough. Ms.Wise runs a beautiful and clean establishment with great food and even live music some nights.
