“I have lived in this area for a long time and seen countless restaurants try and fail to make this building work and it for a while was generally regarded to be a cursed location.I moved away 3 years ago but was diving by and noticed it wasn't the old BBQ place (which was half decent). Stopped in and picked up some tamales to go (pollo verde and birria). They had some ready right by the door so it was easy in/out. Reheated great and really hit the spot.I think I'll be going out of my way to come back here.“

“This has become my favorite coffee shop. Run by a wonderful family. Excellent coffee and other beverages. The spicy Mexican hot chocolate is terrific. I also enjoy the latte and the cappuccino. Baked goods are divine - I especially love the oat bread and the banana bread. Although I have not sampled yet there are also breakfast and lunch items that I can see are popular. Compact seating area that is comfortable and the noise level moderate.“

“Really excellent food, and friendly and fast service. I accidentally left my credit card when we ate there, realized it two days later, called, and they'd found it and held it in their safe and we're able to return it to me. Would highly recommend this place, though it gets a little loud inside when it's busy.“

“A lot bigger than the last time I ate there, like 10 to 15 years ago. Food and service were great, very friendly, clean, our order came pretty quickly, nice decorations, but it was a little loud or noisy. My boyfriend could hear me when I tried talking to him. Had to raise my voice so much that the entire restaurant definitely heard me. Cuz suddenly it went quiet, I never felt that many eyes on me in my entire life. Anxiety overload. My grandson was chilling and relaxed.“

“Brito’s in Monticello is fantastic. Each burrito comes with a warm, homemade tortilla. The portions are huge and all the toppings are fresh and delicious. The service is fast and the price is super reasonable. Better than Chipotle, Q’doba or Bluestone! My husband and I are obsessed- we go here all the time and are never disappointed!“

“There is nothing better than good food with great company. Tromperia El Zac is located off Rice St. There is quite a good amount of parking behind the building, but it may be difficult for those with mobility issues. Our family stopped in and snagged a variety of delicious items. Al pastor tacos are a must try! We also tried the quessbirra tacos, carnitas burrito, and tinga tostada. Food was made fresh, and service was quick. Prices are a bit steep but absolutely worth every penny. We will be placing this on our must have again rotations.“

“Wow...what an IMPRESSIVE dining experience! It's been a long time since we have enjoyed a night out so much. Food 'Molcajete Mexicano' was packed full of flavor and Jorge (bar tender) who waited on us was EXCEPTIONALLY kind; made us feel more like family vs patrons. And the margarita 'Texas Jumbo' was super delish! All of the staff we encountered were incredibly gracious and prompt to respond to any request. We will be back! Bravo El Loro!“

“The place doesn't look much from the front, but the atmosphere is actually quite nice once you walk down the hallway (passing the glass wall behind the bar) and into the main restaurant. On warmer days, the patio looks like it would be an excellent place to hang out. The main part of their menu looked like a build-it-yourself type of thing. Pick tacos, burrito, quesadilla, etc. Then you can pick your protein, style, and sauce. I ended up choosing a Burrito Bowl with Carnitas Street Style. The food tasted great. It was obviously made with fresh ingredients. I was surprised later when I looked at the menu again and saw that it cost me an extra dollar to get the Burrito Bowl, thus saving them the tortilla. I wish the waiter would have mentioned the up charge, although I probably would have gotten the bowl anyway. As I do at most Mexican restaurants -- well, all restaurants -- I got an unsweetened iced tea. Much to my surprise, they charge for tea by the glass. No refills. Again, mentioning this when ordering would have been helpful. Personally, I have trouble paying $4 for iced tea in my at Starbucks... but at least I get free refills. Here, the glasses were much smaller, and again, no refills. At least the tea here tasted good. They checked me out tableside using ApplePay, which was nice. I didn't get an itemized bill. And I'm not quite sure if they tacked on a gratuity or not. Unlike normal, they didn't turn the POS terminal around and ask me to enter a tip amount. Bottom line... not sure if I will go back or not. The food was good. So was the atmosphere. The food was reasonably priced. What may keep me away is that each tiny glass of ice tea (tiny, by my standards) is $4.“

“Ordered takeout online directly through their website, not a third party. The food was really good overall, but our order wasn’t made as we requested nor as the menu said it would be.The online price for food is about 20% more than in-store according to their menu on their wall when we picked it up. And there is also a service charge. Hard to say if we will be back.“

“We came to El Aguila for a late dinner, hungry and looking forward to settling down for a good meal. The restaurant was empty, quiet and calm. We were seated quickly, and served complimentary crispy chips and spicy salsa while we looked over the menu. The menu was pretty extensive, with many options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The prices were quite high, around $15-$20 per item, definitely a bit much but we decided to give it a chance. We ordered a burrito and a combo that had papusas and tamales, a good amount of food to share. The food came quickly and was hot, delicious, and well-presented.We left happy with our order, though feeling like it may have been a bit overpriced. We hope to come again some time and try breakfast perhaps. ?“

“Quick service. The tortillas on the tacos are a warm golden corn and large for corn. I really appreciate their flavor, feels nourishing. The asada tastes good, it's on the moist side more of a diced meat than long slices. The mild salsa has a little kick at the very end (if black pepper is too spicy this is not for you) but is mild and pleasant.Seems popular with a Mexican crowd(further in their favor), I was in the early side for lunch and they've had steady business.Easy parking.Only negative is that I wish that I had a better idea what their torta would be.“

“This place looks like your typical Latin American restaurant, but it's secretly better!First of all, the staff are incredible! This is likely because it's a family-owned and operated restaurant rather than a chain. For example, one time they accidentally made too many margaritas, so we got some free drinks without even asking!Secondly, the menu here is more diverse than your typical Latin American restaurant. For example, this is the first time I've had a whole grilled Tilapia (the Mojarra Frita) since I was in Guatemala, and it was fantastic! The dish may look intimidating/unsightly to the average American, but trust me, it's delicious!Third, the prices are reasonable. The only "downside" is that the restaurant ambiance/atmosphere is just average, which really isn't that big of a downside.Parking: Large, free parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair parking available.“

“Google Maps had me turned around a couple of times, but I am so glad I persevered.I am Twin Cities based. For reference, on business, I eat hundreds of meals in restaurants, in scores of cities around the world each year.I was craving Mexican and picked this quite randomly by Google review alone, late on a Sunday afternoon.I had second thoughts when I pulled up, nobody was there. But I persevered again on review alone. My Torta ( al pastor ) was absolutely perfect. The sauces that accompanied were on a different level of fresh and balanced flavor dynamic.I just wanted some Mexican.I didn't dream I would be thrilled.I sit here and look at the empty plate and contemplate.Should I tell everyone or keep this one to myself?I am beyond puzzled as to why I could be the only one here with food this great.I am only telling you for selfish reasons.I want to see them THRIVE even if I have to stand in line next time. This is absolutely as good as it gets at this price point.Homemade. From scratch. The family business vibe makes me realize the great value.Do yourself a favor!!!“

“The other day I had an issue with my DoorDash delivery of my food. Long story short….Alex the Manager at the Roseville LaCasita, went above and beyond!! And I do mean above and beyond!! He was personable, happy, genuinely wanted to help and he did resolve the issue; with a great attitude!! A lot of times now a days, it’s hard to even get some employees anywhere to say hi to you or even smile. Let alone to even want to work!! Alex is definitely the exception. La Casita, you have the best employee ever and with his work ethic, you are very lucky to have him! Please acknowledge him. I think it’s time for a raise Alex!?. Thank you sooo much!Pam“

“Ohhhhhh my Goodnessssss..... the most authentic and amazing food. Their corn quesadilla. Carnitas is amazing freshly made corn quesadilla cheese, melted in to perfection, radishes vegetables, and a fine, seasoned Carnitas or whatever meat you were looking for Cabeza available and more. Roasted jalapeños are so good they make their own green and red sauces and a Sunday buffet you don't have enough room for their huge selection ,my favorite Mexican food in Minnesota.“

“Holy bananas. This place is great! Food was amazing, service was great, atmosphere was awesome for us. I say for us because it was right after open and it was empty. Right up my alley. The bartenders (Jaden I believe and another sweet girl but I didn't ask her name) were knowledgeable and friendly. Beer was fresh tasting. Food wise, the jalapeños tasted like they were just sliced. So fricken fresh and spicy! We got the totchos (exactly what it sounds like and DANK) and the firehouse 21 burger. We ordered it medium, didn't come out pink but it was so damn juicy and tender I don't even care.Overall, 10 out of 10, no notes. Even the burps taste good.“

“My coworkers and I pop in here when we meet up for drinks after work. The food is solid and the drinks are always good. It's kinda hidden where it is right now, but with the buildings that are popping up around it it should get more traction. They have a patio for the summer and a clean space to eat and drink inside.“

“Not sure if they’re still in business, every time I’ve called the past 2 weeks it goes straight to voicemail and they haven’t been open. Kinda sucks, their tacos were really great (especially the birria and carnitas) the service was always amazing, and I liked being able to support a local business. Guess I gotta find a new taco place ?“

“I love this family and I love this food truck! The Mexican steak tacos are my favorite.Realistically, though everything that I order off of this truck is fresh and delicious. If you want authentic Mexican food they have it. “Fabulous fresh produce, grilled meats, and crispy shells! The price is a little high, but I greatly appreciate that I get a healthy bowl or basket of food versus everything being deep-fried at nearly every other Mexican restaurant! My favorites is the spicy pork in a burrito bowl or crispy taco. Get a large container of guacamole for your meal -- so delish! They have ample seating in the back. The few booths have hardwood bench seats, but the tables have cushioned chairs, which my sensitive back appreciates. We arrived around 5pm and were able to place our order within 5 minutes; however, a line quickly formed out the door behind us. Arrive early, if possible!“

“The food is very good. However today, 4-12-24; There is an older gentleman on a cane. They were mopping the floor all around him.Despite the good food, they made it very unsafe for this older gentleman. Why would they actually mop the floor when there's a disabled person who's obviously having trouble walking. Was this person supposed to sit there for 2 hours while the floor dried??It was really rude and inconsiderate. When he left he was very nervous it was grabbing tables to hang on to walking on a wet floor.“

“So I walked into the place and looked at the menu and set up and immediately my mind was like because I can't leave a restaurant that I've already walked into. BUT I am so glad that I ended up ordering. The set up is assembly like chipotle, but the food actually has flavor and taste unlike chipotle. For some reason they sell boba which was unexpected but it was pretty good. Mangonada was good too. Birria was so so but all in all it was a nice find for north suburbs. Very chill and clean place with a patio.“

“I was mind blown at how great all of the food tasted. This restaurant is authentic, legit, and the best Mexican restaurant in MN. I've been to many and rarely have I been so impressed at all of the food a single place has to offer. The flavoring of everything had so much depbt and I can't wait to go back for more. I ordered $90 worth of food and about one of everything on the menu . There wasn't a single item that was okay. I literally mean everything was near the top or the best I've eaten when compared to all of it's competition.I highly recommended so I'm so happy it's only a few blocks from my place.“

“The service itself could have been rated as a 5+. We had a nearly perfect experience based on a recommendation from a friend who had grown up in this neighborhood. Excellent spicy Mexican/New Mexican entrees even on the breakfast menu. Very exhaustive and creative breakfast menu in general. From the time we entered the door to the team staff concept this was pretty much as good as a place could do. Food was delicious served extremely efficiently and the crew helped me find a missing phone with utter diligence as I was wrapping up to leave. I planned on going over for a good experience based on a suggestion; I instead had a great one. Love this place and it’s vibe and will certainly return!“

“Definitely check this place out! We've been here a couple of time, always in the winter for some reason, and have never been let down! The service from the hostess, to the servers, the bartenders and the manager Travis that checked in on us were all extremely friendly and accommodating as we had our 3 little ones with us. This bar/restaurant has a very cozy and warm feeling (I absolutely love being able to take my coat off and not freeze in a restaurant in Minnesota winters). There is an awesome wood burning fireplace that really adds to it's charm. If that's not enough there's a large selection of local artwork throughout each room. There's a huge outdoor patio for all your warmer weather dining needs and it is dog friendly! Rumor has it this summer they will be offering a doggy menu for possible "Yappy Hour"specials!Back to the food, it's amazing! The menu is the perfect size to offer a great variety without compromising quality and taste. We had the 100% Angus burgers that were cooked to perfection and served with perfectly seasoned fries. The buffalo wing appetizers were cooked to have a slightly crispy outside and juicy inside without being sloppy like other wing establishments. We didn't have the fajitas but saw and smelled multiple orders of them whiz by us and will definitely be back to try them. There are plenty of beers on tap and a full bar that will have anything you might have a taste for. I had a blood orange margarita and it was spot on! Coincidentally that happens to be the only picture I took of our meal.“

“I love coming here and it’s my favorite spot for fast food tacos. It’s consistently tasty, affordable and I would say it is comfort food.My go-tos are the soft shell beef tacos (add tomatoes for free) and the potato burrito. The shells are tasty and don’t fall apart very easily. The beef is well seasoned and not dry. The toppings are always fresh. The burrito is really tasty, it’s in a flour shell which is also good. The potatoes inside the burrito stay crispy which is impressive! The interior has changed a lot since the pandemic. There’s no more salsa bar, you need to request salsas when you order (which is fine) One per item. It’s a really good salsa so do not miss out on that. The seating areas have changed as well and I hope they revisit making the interior look nicer. There used to be booths; they’re now swapped with tables and bar style seating. There aren’t as many tables as there used to be and there’s a to-go window that was established during the pandemic where there was seating and the salsa bar. The main room has very few spots for sitting.I also noticed that the cups and wrapping have changed. There used to be purple cups with a bull on it: it was cute.I do miss the ‘old’ taco house but the food is still really good, affordable and comforting.“

“This location is pretty consistent decent service and food quality. Dine in atmosphere provides a few different types of options for places to sit which is nice for those of us who are a bit more particular. Seating is quite uncomfortable so plan on eating and get going. Pretty loud so not a great place for conversation. Parking is not great, as you'll likely have to walk a bit further than most places, but I do have to say you can fit a smaller commercial vehicle or truck with a 25ft trailer in the lot, but expect a hike.“
