“Okay so why does nobody do fast food Italian?

I almost never write fast food reviews but these folks were so friendly and we were so surprised by the value that a review seemed absolutely required, hard plastic benches and all.

Fazoli's was new to me, but they are a chain that seems ubiquitous in the Midwest. They mostly offer Italian style food to go. This is much faster than a traditional Italian experience (and wasn't the food quality we experienced on the hill) but it was definitely good food for an exceptional price. We both ordered spaghetti one with meatballs one with meat sauce, our order came with breadsticks also and the total food cost was less than we paid for our coffee earlier in the morning.

The folks at this specific store overheard the discussion about not having been there before and were exceptionally friendly and engaging.

If you are a local you probably know all about these and likely have strong opinions one way or the other, if you haven't seen this before though you have to give it a try.“

“We went to Trattorias yesterday and the waitress and her staff helping her were just incredibly amazing! Leslie our waitress was phenomenal!! She told us about the specials and made them sound delicious and well worth our minimal wait - I would highly recommend you go here for all your special occasions!! The food was served hot and fresh!! We felt so glad we chose Trattorias for our special Valentine's evening. The restaurant and everything was very clean and the environment was very beautiful!! “We have traditionally gone to Bartolino’s South County. When they opened the one in West County we were very happy because it’s close to home as well as a very nice place to have dinner or lunch.. We have had dinner there several times And each time the food has been great and the service excellent. Very nice courteous professional people tonight we had Michell as our attendant and she did an excellent job. The atmosphere is very nice yet very comfortable business casual. Prices are not cheap, but considering what you get they’re fair. We will continue to go to Bartolino‘s, and we consider it one of our favorites for a good Italian.“

“Bartolinos South is our favorite nice restaurant. Not only is the food consistently wonderful but they always work to please you. We celebrate all special occasions there. Recently we reserved their front room which holds a max of 16, I believe. They went out of their way to make the setting perfect (even bringing in a small table for our use). Our waiter, Karen, was discreet in providing us perfect service without interrupting our shared conversation/memories as we were toasting a dear friend on her birthday. I can’t say enough about how flawless they made our luncheon. Bartolinos will remain our favorite not only for the quality of the food but for their personal attention.“

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pictured below is the Gonzo calzone- Salami, dates, spinach, garlic herb cheese, mozzarella, mascarpone-ricotta blend, and garlic oil with garlic butter on the side. My husband looked at me like I was crazy when I read off dates but the slight sweetness against all of that savory is what made it!! We also tried the Fatty B, Meat me in St Louie, Magic Carpet Ride, and the Gyro. They were all amazing but the Gonzo and the Gyro were my favorites. The Magic Carpet Ride is also a must try if you're into mushrooms.“

“The food was really good , we were seated right away, the waitress was prompt and on top of everything,my steak was just slightly over seasoned but other then that the amount of food was huge like normal,and tasted great. Prices seemed a bit high I was taken back on that part.“

“We were in St Peter’s Mo. and were going to go to Olive Garden for my Wife’s birthday, when I told our clerk at the hotel she said she would recommend the Pasta House over the Olive Garden. We went and had supper. Everything we had was great better than the other place. We took desert back to the room and it was great. I would recommend to anybody.“

“We went there with a pizza pass to try it out. Had been to 15 other places listed on the pass and this one ranks number one. The best Detroit style Delux pizza and fried mushroom EVER.“

“I had the Spinach lunch salad which was very large (my husband didn’t think I would finish it). It was supposed to have feta cheese, bacon and candied pecans on top. I was very surprised at the large amounts of these add-ins. I expected about half the amount they gave me. The spinach was perfectly dressed, not too much and not too little dressing, just a silky coating on the greens. My spinach salad looked even better than the photo posted by Carol Boss.
My husband had spaghetti and meatballs. He ordered a dinner portion, which was very large. He admitted that he should have gotten the lunch portion. We brought home one of the two large meatballs with lots of spaghetti. Fifteen years ago, he worked in Webster Groves and would go to this restaurant for special occasions. I asked him if the spaghetti was as good as he remembered and he said yes.
The music was all old time Italian classics with singers like Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. I knew the words to all of the songs.“

“I was at Pasta House today with a group. Our server was excellent and greeter was pleasant! My side House Salad was delicious… the way I remember as I haven’t been in a long time and rolls delish as well. However my Chicken Breast was terrible and honestly should be taken off the Menu. I’m actually shocked that they let it go out of the kitchen as were the ladies sitting near me. The chicken breast had obviously been cut in half, so was very thin and dry with burnt pieces on it and was hard to cut and chew. I tried 2 bites and then asked to get another one which my group was about done so I only took one bite and took the rest home. I just tried eating it for dinner and although it was a tiny bit better than the first one, it was still dry and inedible so I made myself a sandwich instead. The side pasta I brought home also wasn’t good. I really do not like to do bad reviews but I spent $15 on this mostly inedible meal and thought others should know Thank you!“

“Got dinner last night with the family, and our waitress Mariah was fantastic! Our 2 little girls just adored her! Of course we got the fried cheese which is always top tier! The pasta was fantastic and my kids both enjoyed their food. It’s always nice to eat somewhere and the staff treat you like family. Will definitely be back another only because the food was good but because the staff is amazing!“

“I grew up going to Montebello’s. Last night I went back to check it out after many years away. It did not disappoint. The new owners have kept all of the vintage charm but added a brighter, lighter ambiance. The food had all my old favorites, especially the T-Ravs and pizza. There were several new additions that I will try on a return visit. Good job Tanya!“

“Not a bad Chicken Club at all with thick juicy chunks of white chicken, plenty of imitation bacon bits and a good mix of lettuce and a small but flavorful Thousand Island and the Ravioli is nicely aldente' and sank in plenty of sauce. The service was great, even late, and the restaurant was in good shape. The price is what got to me. Honesty, I was kicking myself in the buttocks because it was $18 for this meal and no drink when, with all do respect, a can of Chef Boyardi and a Pre-Packed Deli salad would have been about $7 and basically the equivalent. I'm just saying. I do appreciate the work this crew does here but realistically it's pretty pricey. I didn't feel bad at all for sitting down with my own can drink.“

“Our group was celebrating a birthday tonight. It was also our first time here so we ordered several items off the menu to try: the house salad, the smoked BBQ chicken pizza, the margherita pizza, tiramisu and brownies. Everything was delicious except the brownies. I'm not sure if it was a bad batch or just not to our taste. The servers were very nice, but not super attentive. We had to ask to for refills. We were there for the dinner rush and it was busy so it was understandable. We will definitely come back.“

“Good Italian style sandwich shop. They don’t make them like this much anymore. I ordered two sandwiches (enough to feed 2-3 people) both were good with no complaints. Not my all time favorite sandwich shop, BUT not to dang bad guys! Hands down better than any chain places in both quality and value. Tasty bread too. Which is a must for a good sandwich. I will definitely be back, while Zanti’s won’t replace my favorite sandwich shop that’s near and dear to my heart, this will be definitely be my replacement for Jimmy John’s and jersey mikes for sure! I suggest everyone make the switch if considering.“

“I came to Olive Garden with my brother and a friend, and we had such a great experience! George took care of us, and his service was honestly to infinity and beyond. He was super kind, attentive, and made sure we always had everything we needed. He really made our dinner even better.

The only tiny thing was that the tiramisu was a little frozen in the center, but everything else was amazing, so it wasn’t a big deal at all.

“I brought a group of 14 into Joey B’s on a Saturday night for my Birthday and we had an AMAZING time. Our server (I think her name was Katherine but I was having such a good time I may have forgot) was insanely attentive, quick, nice as can be, and even went out of her way to store my cake in their cooler and made sure we had enough dessert plates for everyone. The food was also 10/10 delicious and many of my guests said they will be back! Thank you to our server and the rest of Joey Bs for making my Birthday so special, you guys are amazing!“
