“Okay so why does nobody do fast food Italian?

I almost never write fast food reviews but these folks were so friendly and we were so surprised by the value that a review seemed absolutely required, hard plastic benches and all.

Fazoli's was new to me, but they are a chain that seems ubiquitous in the Midwest. They mostly offer Italian style food to go. This is much faster than a traditional Italian experience (and wasn't the food quality we experienced on the hill) but it was definitely good food for an exceptional price. We both ordered spaghetti one with meatballs one with meat sauce, our order came with breadsticks also and the total food cost was less than we paid for our coffee earlier in the morning.

The folks at this specific store overheard the discussion about not having been there before and were exceptionally friendly and engaging.

If you are a local you probably know all about these and likely have strong opinions one way or the other, if you haven't seen this before though you have to give it a try.“

“I went in to Ya'lls establishment today and wanted to be nosey. See how yalls food was compared to ours. I was blown away!!! The food was so good. I got pasta con broccoli and eggplant parm app. Usually when I get it from our restaurant it tastes like sanitizer from the dish washer station. The only disappointment was getting hard as rock rolls. Service was great though girl with the red tattoos helped me out. “We went to Trattorias yesterday and the waitress and her staff helping her were just incredibly amazing! Leslie our waitress was phenomenal!! She told us about the specials and made them sound delicious and well worth our minimal wait - I would highly recommend you go here for all your special occasions!! The food was served hot and fresh!! We felt so glad we chose Trattorias for our special Valentine's evening. The restaurant and everything was very clean and the environment was very beautiful!! “Bartolinos South is our favorite nice restaurant. Not only is the food consistently wonderful but they always work to please you. We celebrate all special occasions there. Recently we reserved their front room which holds a max of 16, I believe. They went out of their way to make the setting perfect (even bringing in a small table for our use). Our waiter, Karen, was discreet in providing us perfect service without interrupting our shared conversation/memories as we were toasting a dear friend on her birthday. I can’t say enough about how flawless they made our luncheon. Bartolinos will remain our favorite not only for the quality of the food but for their personal attention.“

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pictured below is the Gonzo calzone- Salami, dates, spinach, garlic herb cheese, mozzarella, mascarpone-ricotta blend, and garlic oil with garlic butter on the side. My husband looked at me like I was crazy when I read off dates but the slight sweetness against all of that savory is what made it!! We also tried the Fatty B, Meat me in St Louie, Magic Carpet Ride, and the Gyro. They were all amazing but the Gonzo and the Gyro were my favorites. The Magic Carpet Ride is also a must try if you're into mushrooms.“

“They saved the day for us! We had catering set up for a graduation party with another place and they ghosted us. My husband went up there the morning of the party, and they were able to make enough food for 30 people for pick up by that afternoon! The food was excellent and our guests were asking us where it came from. We had no leftovers lol. Thank you so much!“

“I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and a glass of wine. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and my food and drink arrived within mere minutes. The red wine was an ok table wine, while the spaghetti arrived piping hot. The two large meatballs were very flavorful and the sauce on the fine spaghetti noodles was slightly flat. In my opinion it needed a bit more salt which I simply added myself. Overall the meal was enjoyable and the price was very reasonable. The portion was large so I brought half home for lunch the next day. My only criticism would be the atmosphere. It was too dark where I was sitting; I'm not a fan of eating by candlelight. I feel that dark dining vibe is a bit outdated.“

“I took my friend and I out to this restaurant not really knowing what to expect but oh we both were blown away. The environment inside and outside (with the outside patio being available) is amazing with the service being friendly. It made a great first experience. I was a little worried about the check but very shocked and pleased to see what the final amount was for what we got. I definitely would suggest this restaurant for a family outing or a couple looking for a fair priced meal.“

“We were in St Peter’s Mo. and were going to go to Olive Garden for my Wife’s birthday, when I told our clerk at the hotel she said she would recommend the Pasta House over the Olive Garden. We went and had supper. Everything we had was great better than the other place. We took desert back to the room and it was great. I would recommend to anybody.“

“I have alpha gal which has made it tricky to eat out at times. I received the best treatment I've ever experienced since having it. Both the server and manager took the time without making me feel like a burden (though I know it is one) to find something that would work. The manager also delivered my main to assure me it was handled with care. Blown away by the care and service.“

“I was at Pasta House today with a group. Our server was excellent and greeter was pleasant! My side House Salad was delicious… the way I remember as I haven’t been in a long time and rolls delish as well. However my Chicken Breast was terrible and honestly should be taken off the Menu. I’m actually shocked that they let it go out of the kitchen as were the ladies sitting near me. The chicken breast had obviously been cut in half, so was very thin and dry with burnt pieces on it and was hard to cut and chew. I tried 2 bites and then asked to get another one which my group was about done so I only took one bite and took the rest home. I just tried eating it for dinner and although it was a tiny bit better than the first one, it was still dry and inedible so I made myself a sandwich instead. The side pasta I brought home also wasn’t good. I really do not like to do bad reviews but I spent $15 on this mostly inedible meal and thought others should know Thank you!“

“Great place for a children's Birthday party, of approximately 12 people, nice back room! Food was delightful! Generous portions and the staff was helpful, smiling and fun! Also a great place for adults to enjoy a lunch or early supper, very inexpensive. The meatballs are delightful! The spaghetti was perfectly firm, meat sauce was yummy. Meatball sandwich was huge and yummy. The bread is fresh and soft, and the butter was really good too! We will visit and enjoy again and again!“

“I grew up going to Montebello’s. Last night I went back to check it out after many years away. It did not disappoint. The new owners have kept all of the vintage charm but added a brighter, lighter ambiance. The food had all my old favorites, especially the T-Ravs and pizza. “Good Italian style sandwich shop. They don’t make them like this much anymore. I ordered two sandwiches (enough to feed 2-3 people) both were good with no complaints. Not my all time favorite sandwich shop, BUT not to dang bad guys! Hands down better than any chain places in both quality and value. Tasty bread too. Which is a must for a good sandwich. I will definitely be back, while Zanti’s won’t replace my favorite sandwich shop that’s near and dear to my heart, this will be definitely be my replacement for Jimmy John’s and jersey mikes for sure! I suggest everyone make the switch if considering.“

“I came to Olive Garden with my brother and a friend, and we had such a great experience! George took care of us, and his service was honestly to infinity and beyond. He was super kind, attentive, and made sure we always had everything we needed. He really made our dinner even better.

The only tiny thing was that the tiramisu was a little frozen in the center, but everything else was amazing, so it wasn’t a big deal at all.

“We stumbled upon one of the most unforgettable pizzas we’ve ever had on this trip. I’ve always been a fan of thick-crust pizza, thinking it was the only way to enjoy real flavor. But this paper-thin crust changed everything—light, incredibly crisp, and full of character in every bite. Huge thanks to the hotel lobby manager who pointed us in the right direction. Sometimes, the best travel memories begin with a simple local recommendation.“
