No matter how long it's been since I've stepped through these doors, it always feels like home. It is truly a unique and perfect dining experience time and time again. From the counter to the wait staff and even the comfortability of the seats/tables. The food is always perfection as well. This trip I ordered a gyro and a salad bar trip. Most people wouldn't expect to be wowed with such a simple order (myself included), but they never cease to amaze me here. The onions are somehow perfection themselves, which in my experience is an impossibility to predict during the purchasing process. The jalapeños I had added were just the right amount of flavor. Again, an impossible task when I'm shopping for myself, but it's just the normal way of business here at Angelo's. The gyro itself is the absolute perfect portion, and I'm not a small guy. It filled me up without weighing me down. The salad bar options are simple and straightforward, which suits my tastes perfectly. There are few things more frustrating than too many choices when making a salad and finding that perfect balance between healthy options and being inundated with too many choices is an art form other restaurants could take a lesson from. If all that wasn't enough, the very best part is how quick they get the food out to you. The temperature upon arrival to the table couldn't have been better. Legitimately just a touch hotter than you want to bite into but a solid reassurance that it's freshly cooked while somehow being so mouth-wateringly presented that it makes a guy question if a little bit of heat on the ole tongue would be a bad thing. By the time you get the gyro sauce onto the meat, it's the absolute perfect consumption temperature.
In summation, if you're not eating here when you are in Columbia, you're missing out. 100% will return next time I'm in town!!!!“

“We went to The Heidelberg for their advertised "Happy Hour." We ordered the HH Long Island Tea, which is featured prominently on their menu. A couple of minutes later, the server comes back and ask us "now what did you want??" iced tea ? what was it?? I said Long Island Tea, and he's still looking at me with this puzzled look and tells me "I don't drink?" I could go on but you got the point. Then, I inquire about .. again on the menu!! the buy one appetizer get one free HH special.and he said any appetizers qualify.. instead we got two sets of appetizers ..that's right. FOUR appetizers came out. instead of the two I ordered.. and he looked at me and said.. "you said two" .. you can't make this stuff up .. The entire visit from the moment we walked in the door was a complete train wreck.. Please train your servers better so they know what's on your menu .. Why advertise stuff if the server has no idea what it is???“

The decor is very similar to the old Teller's we all love however it's been upgraded during the remodel to give it a fresh new look. And is much brighter!

The food was just as good as before. If you've missed this iconic food stop or you're looking for a trendy place to grab a delicious drink and meet with friends, this is your Columbia go to.

From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and made us feel like we were her top priority. She checked in with me at just the right times. Coming from New York I have craved a fresh deli style sandwich shop, something that Jersey Mike's can closely mimic, but other alternatives struggle to match. The bread is perfect, the meats taste delicious, and the toppings are not soggy. If you want a similar dining experience, you will have to go to upscale restaurants that charge an arm and a leg, but offer off-putting service. The ambiance is what you might expect of a small bar inside of an antiquated theater. This is truly a "must visit" if you're a local or passing through!“

Everything I have ordered has been amazing from French toast ,waffles, omelettes , tacos ,sandwiches and salads . Very healthy and fresh food . Would eat at First Watch three times a week during my two month stay in Columbia Missouri. Always asked to seated in Melany's section . But all the wait staff was great !!! Took my 9 year old grandson for breakfast and he rated the restaurant a 10 . He had a waffle and sausage links and hot chocolate. I had the Italian sausage omelette with roasted potatoes. “I don’t know how it is as a restaurant, but as a club, it’s one of the best I’ve ever been to. It’s a big place with plenty of rooms for dancing, sitting, talking. “Wonderful old cafe. A Columbia staple that everyone should try. Lots of yummy comfort food and great service. Waitress was kind and prompt and check out is easy.
They let you pick where you want to sit and if you like coffee. They will keep your cup filled. No rush to leave and lots of art in the entry with a few other things to buy as quick purchases.
Plates are large and hearty. Egg cheese and bacon sandwich was got and bacon crispy. They have fresh squeezed organice juice and both breakfast and dinner options.
If you get a biscuit, it has a yummy crunchy bottom from going on the grill for a bit.“

“Although the food is good, the service is terrible, takes forever to get waited on and the servers personallies are impersonal and dry. We have excused ourselves from the table to go use restroom, smoke break, etc., with food and drinks left on table, told the waitress,, people around us and came back 10 minutes later to an empty table and only response is an "oh, uh", no reimbursement, no nothing and the table wasn't even needed! Whatever happened to common decency? Wake up and pay attention people.“
