“I don’t understand why this place doesn’t have 5 stars across the board. The place is perfect! Presentation, flavor, service, all is perfect! We had a variety of different plates tonight. I have never had a disappointment with anything here. However, when asked what my favorite tastes were, I have to say the scallops, which was a special, or the shrimp scampi, (an hors d’oeuvre) were at a tie. Both perfectly cooked and the scampi with the sauce and the bread is incredible! We also had Mac n cheese, onion rings and fries as a side. Normally I don’t get these items, as I never would at another restaurant, but here, you know it’s going to be great with our next few meals! The halibut and the vodka past were also both perfect! I really don’t know how else I can describe it. We ended it with a Tavern Sundae as well as espresso. The sundae was again, something I would never order, (I’m not a dessert person) but it was served with chocolate, vanilla, strawberry ice cream, homemade whip cream, hot fudge and a variety of toppings. Sounds basic, but with multiple people, it was the perfect way to end meal! Drinks, cocktails are great and creative (or classic) and the wine list is a perfect pairing to any meal you have. Service is always a plus for me and every time I have been, they always deliver! Well done!!“

“On the day I went, a jazz quartet played, and I was able to hear better music than the jazz bar I waited two hours for in New York. The play time is long, the sound value is good, and the sound is loud enough.
For food, I ordered a shrimp sandwich with beer, and although the raw onion and butter were strong, it was delicious.
However, there were only 4 to 6 tables of customers, the piano had its back to the customers so they could not see the piano playing, the customers were eating and talking rather than concentrating on the performance, and so the customers were guided to the back rather than in front of the performer. I think it would be a shame from the artist's perspective.
It was like a gift to me before leaving the United States. There is no separate music fee. I would go here even if I only had $20 in my pocket. It was great to enjoy jazz alone.“

I enjoyed the Alabama Slammer beverage We had the seafood artichoke dip and alligator bites for appetizers I enjoyed the parmesan encrusted red snapper, green beans, and mashed potatoes Banana pudding cheesecake Everything was delicious The restaurant staff were friendly, especially our server Hana- she was truly astonishing and sweet. “We wanted Italian food and we decided to go on the hill to Zia‘s. We ordered pasta dishes, which was extremely nice portion size. The bread was delicious when you dip it in olive oil. I also had the French martini which was delicious. I think if you have a taste for Italian food pasta, you couldn’t find a better place.“

Our food came pretty fast.
We had the boudin balls, fried catfish, fried gator, and 3lbs of snow crab legs.

After taking our Grandchildren for pics with Santa, we stopped at Charlie Gitto's and were WOWED by Melissa and her teammates. Our four grandkids; ages 13 to 1, were all treated with respect, acknowledged and included, and able to see for themselves what kind of great service they should both provide in their future careers and expect from the providers they choose. The food was great, (veal, steak, seafood pasta, calamari, mocktails and cocktails, apps to dessert all was wow.) The table was perfect for our needs. The kids weren't trapped in a booth so if they needed they could have gone to restroom... but they were never bored or impatient. Everything was timed perfectly. Our Middle fella could watch the kitchen while he anticipated his dessert. Melissa coordinated the food runners, bussers etc all while making sure we had all we needed for a wow evening. Seriously.. management... listen.. I don't know her but If I thought I could hire Melissa away... I'd try. Do what you need to keep her and people will keep coming back. My wife and our grandchildren were all very happy to have a dinner we won't forget. Bottom line... the kids talked more about dinner than they did about Santa. “The steak was superior (sliced filet mignon) a 10/10 and fairly priced. The noise level was acceptable compared to similar venues equally crowded. The service could have been better. I ordered a wedge salad with my steak that never came to the table. We (party of 5) had one round of drinks and weren't asked about drinks again. They brought the check and never asked if we cared for desert or coffee. It may have been a long day for them and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I will come back ;)“

“First time visit. Went for our anniversary. The attention to detail was excellent. We've spent a lot more at similar steakhouses and haven't had nearly the wonderful experience as we had here! Being seated by the manager was a nice touch. Prior to going, the only thing we knew was that it was attached to a Holiday Inn, which made us suspect and we thought we'd be severely disappointed. But since it got a good rating on Yelp we chanced it-- we're so glad we did! The cocktails were delicious and interesting. The wine list superb. We LOVED the salads that arrived "family style"- a Caesar and a mixed-greens salad choice. They came with homemade dressings that I wanted to drink from the bowls! Our steaks were cooked to our liking. I ordered the filet Oscar style and it was delicious! There were many choices of sides from which to choose. We ordered the whipped potatoes, asparagus, and the pepper cream sauce for my wife's filet and they were all yummy! Finally, we were given a free large slice of their "wedding cake" (vanilla cake with a phenomenal almond buttercream frosting) for dessert and devoured it! Don't hesitate going here. We think you'll enjoy it as much as we did!!“

“This is tough because our experience at this steakhouse should have been five stars. Our server was great -- energetic, personable, and enthusiastic. He and the other waiters wore red coats, adding to the strong steakhouse vibe. But... then came the shrimp cocktail. They might as well have been shrimp from a dollar store. There were four wet, slightly mushy, unimpressively sized shrimp. This was so sad, because the presentation was great -- a chilled metal vessel, a good amount of delicious cocktail sauce... the whole thing. But the shrimp. I mean, they could have served four super jumbo shrimp, still made a good profit, and made an extremely simple dish a star item. My advice? Go to a few big city steakhouses and see how they do their shrimp cocktails. Okay, now for a few positives: The steak was cooked perfectly and had a good char. Was it the most flavorful steak we've ever had? No. However, it was very solid. The creamed spinach was complex and had great flavor... but it was a somewhat small portion. The potatoes were good, but it was simply a scoop on a room temperature plate. They could do so much better serving it in a hot vessel with a little melted butter -- or garlic butter. Oh, and the bread. -- I think it was yesterday's. I'm sorry to say that, because it was was served warm... but it didn't seem like it was baked that day. There were other little things, like my napkin being taken when two place settings were cleared from our four-top, and also ending up with numerous utensils after our salad course due to what seemed to be just a notch less attention to that particular detail. So, all-in-all it was a solid meal, but it seems like there are other options in STL where you could get a stronger experience for the same money. However, with that said, Kreis' doesn't have to put in much additional effort to bring itself up to a five star level. You can do it, Kreis'!“

“Found this place on google and decided to check it out. Employees were very welcoming and friendly! Food was absolutely amazing! My boys (7,10) had chicken nuggets and fries and they both said they were the best fries and nuggets they’ve ever had! My husband ordered the red beans and rice, gumbo and green beans and smoked turkey. He enjoyed all three! I’m ashamed I’ve never had green beans with turkey before today. Absolutely recommend that as a side!! I had a fried shrimp po boy and our server recommended some kind of spicy sauce that they have and it did not disappoint! Definitely will be back next time we come to Missouri!“

I stopped eating gizzards years ago because of London and Sons failure to hold good food after the passing of the throan, no one had gizzards like them. But after being introduced to Hooks recently , this is the place for good fried tasty food! Check them out in the little plaza!“
