The dining was equally fabulous. Our server was attentive and provided excellent service, while the food was both fresh and flavorful. I especially enjoyed the fresh fish dish and the street corn. For dessert, I highly recommend the carrot cake—it’s decadent and delicious.

“Evangeline’s has a classic Central West End vibe, with charming patio seating, a modern New Orleans–style interior, great Cajun food, and live music. Our table enjoyed gumbo, shrimp and grits, and beans-and-rice dishes, along with excellent wine. We were there on a Thursday, when ambient noise was lower, so the music was a little loud for our table conversation, but we took dessert to go and thoroughly devoured that too. Great local restaurant!“

“Love gulf shores! Went tonight to the St. Peter’s location and had a yummy dinner. The host was a young man and did a great job and our waitress was lovely and on top of it! Two elderly women came in a the younger of the two was extremely rude and entitled to the host (the young man). Rudely demanding a different table each time he tried to seat them. I just wanted to point out how well he handled it and that he stayed professional and kept a smile on his face the whole time. He deserves kudos. I told her on the way out to tone down her entitlement and not to be so rude to staff and she spiraled. Not shocking. I’m not a fan of treating those in the service industry rudely. Again he handled it very well. Good job to him!“

“We wanted Italian food and we decided to go on the hill to Zia‘s. We ordered pasta dishes, which was extremely nice portion size. The bread was delicious when you dip it in olive oil. I also had the French martini which was delicious. I think if you have a taste for Italian food pasta, you couldn’t find a better place.“

“We went to this restaurant for our 28th wedding anniversary and loved it. Our waiter, Tsai, was wonderful, and the food was awesome. Lots of good meat in the crab and the shrimp were huge. We had the medium spicy sauce and that was perfect. Thanks so much for making our special day so great. 😃“

The only thing that was lacking was our waitress seemed a little put off being there. She was timely and attentive, but really not very friendly. After taking our Grandchildren for pics with Santa, we stopped at Charlie Gitto's and were WOWED by Melissa and her teammates. Our four grandkids; ages 13 to 1, were all treated with respect, acknowledged and included, and able to see for themselves what kind of great service they should both provide in their future careers and expect from the providers they choose. The food was great, (veal, steak, seafood pasta, calamari, mocktails and cocktails, apps to dessert all was wow.) The table was perfect for our needs. The kids weren't trapped in a booth so if they needed they could have gone to restroom... but they were never bored or impatient. Everything was timed perfectly. Our Middle fella could watch the kitchen while he anticipated his dessert. Melissa coordinated the food runners, bussers etc all while making sure we had all we needed for a wow evening. Seriously.. management... listen.. I don't know her but If I thought I could hire Melissa away... I'd try. Do what you need to keep her and people will keep coming back. My wife and our grandchildren were all very happy to have a dinner we won't forget. Bottom line... the kids talked more about dinner than they did about Santa. We got a call today and they had a fire so they couldn’t open but graciously made us a reservation at j Gilbert’s. My son got sick so I had to stay home but they called me and said they made her the fried cauliflower that she loves at Bristol’s tonight at j Gilbert’s!! “We have always enjoyed our dining experience at Roberto’s. The food is great, service is great and the atmosphere is great. HOWEVER, they need to improve in two areas. Every time I have asked for a little horseradish. They don’t have any. So next time, I’ll bring my own. The other is the amount of sour crème provided with your huge potato is inadequate. I asked for a little more and they charged me an additional fifty cents! I can’t believe that I’m paying $240 for a meal and they want to ding me fifty cents for a dollop of sour crème. How petty.“
