The sauces and oils that came on the various dishes we ordered were very flavorful, but I had a hard time actually getting most of it in my mouth since the sauces didn’t really adhere well to the food, and all the dishes came in flat bowls so trying to scoop it up was a challenge.

We arrived when the restaurant first opened, so the dining room was empty, yet we were seated right next to another couple, which seemed like an odd thing to do. I feel like we could have been seated a little more sparsely and had a touch of privacy given the empty state of the dining room. There were 2 tables open on either side for the next half hour we were there. Our cutlery was also just put in a pile on the table when we were seated as well, not placed.

Overall, the food was good but aspects of the service and presentation could be better.“

“I wish I could say that I had been able to go here. I bought my tickets and then realized that we could not make it on that night. Yes...I get it. You don't generally get a refund or exchange for a show. But. I tried for an entire week just to get a reply to my emails and voicemails that I left. I even called the front desk of the hotel who said that they would pass along g my request to reschedule. Don't get me wrong...I get that they may not be able to do that.. but a simpme reply of maybe.. sorry. Or..thank you for your interest. But absolute silence. I hope the show was good. I hear nice things about it“

“My boyfriend and I visited for our anniversary. our service was phenomenal, cocktails tasty, and the was in our top favorite meals we have ever eaten! He had the Pork Chop and I had Prime Rib! Very Good!!“

“It had been a while since we ventured into downtown KCMO, and we genuinely enjoyed the atmosphere. Overall, the food was good, though not quite at the level we expected for the price. One clear takeaway: avoid the fried items. We wish we had read the negative reviews beforehand, because the wings were unfortunately the worst we’ve ever had overly oily and lacking flavor. As a big wings fan, the execution was especially frustrating: the batter wasn’t right, the texture was greasy, and the seasoning simply missed the mark. The shrimp toasts were also disappointing—very soggy bread to the point that I felt it wasn't cooked in the middle.

That said, the “Japanese‑style” dishes featuring raw fish were much better. The sushi taco was a standout, and my friends really enjoyed the bone marrow beef tartare. For the main course, the scallop pasta had great potential, but the salt was heavy—particularly on the scallops and toward the bottom of the bowl, even after mixing.

On a positive note, the drinks, desserts and service were excellent, easily deserving five stars.“

Kind staff. Great beer selection. They would even drop by with random tastes after you get food to try and match the mood

Pancakes are great. Cheesecake brulee was amazing. Pretzel good. Fire shrimp great. Ribeye cooked perfect medium but didn't have a great sear.

Collin (I hope that’s how he spells it)was amazing and attentive, I ordered the steak bowl and the steak was cooked to perfection (medium) and the Cherry Margarita was amazing!!!!! “We did the 4:30 distillery tour and it was really fun! There is not much walking and an elevator available for those that need it. Our tour guide was very interesting and he did a great job of teaching us about Tom Pendergast and also about the liquors that they distill. You can start with a drink in their bar and carry it with you throughout the tour if you like!“

“Staying at the Hilton Presidents Hotel in downtown Kansas City we stopped by the Drum Room located on property and accessed via hotel lobby or its side entrance. Good and atmosphere were so good we ate there 2 times. Started with Fried Goat Cheese and Beet Salad and finished with the KC Beach Burger with garlic fries and Meatball Farfalle pasta dish. All were amazing and didn’t venture far on our second visit and skipped the salad as the 3 items were way too much on the first evening. Second evening we shared a bottle of Sav Blanc from N.Z. Amazing.“

“Local Kansas Citian....stayed this weekend with my husband and had an AMAZING time! The room was spacious and clean! Bed was super comfy, and it was actually very quiet! We could see the city life below from our corner room, but most of the noise was completely blocked out! The hotel bar and the terrace bar were both amazing! And breakfast at the hotel was to die for! We will definitely be staying again!“

“Went in expecting a solid dinner, left talking about it for days. Every dish told you a chef was actually back there paying attention.
The duck ham crostini stopped me mid-conversation , eyes rolled back, actual clapping at the table. The pig cheek terrine and smoked pork chop were just as thoughtful, rich, and perfectly balanced. Nothing on this menu feels like filler.
If you're in Kansas City and want a meal that actually surprises you, this is the move. Would go back in a heartbeat.“

We ordered the ricotta and the calamari. Both were very good. The atmosphere was less than pleasant. It was the perfect spot for our guests to go while the ballroom was being transitioned into our reception! “Small menu but quality food. Boulevard Burger was outstanding, as were the hand cut fries. The Boulevard Old Fashioned was fantastic. We sat at the bar. All of the staff was friendly and kind. Great food though a little pricey. The burger was $20 but we thought it was worth it.“

“We stopped by here before seeing a show at The Music Hall. It was great because it was within walking distance and we could make a reservation. I have been to the Drum Room countless times and had no idea about the restaurant in the hotel! We decided to split the grilled peach salad, the fried goat cheese salad and a side of fries. These salads were so good! I feel like you don't often hear people rave about salads after visiting a restaurant but these were both great. I would totally order them again. Our waitress was super nice and even let us know right when we sat down that they were short staffed and that she was also helping with room service. I always appreciate when staff is up front about situations like that because it helps customers understand and manage expectations. Our drinks were rather strong and we both had a hard time finishing them, but overall we had a good experience!“

“I had I think the most delicious chicken and pear salad I’ve ever had in my life here. There was a couple of conferences going on inside the hotel so the restaurant and bar area was crowded and there was only one staff person waiting on everyone. I don’t know what the situation was in the kitchen however, even though I had to wait for a service, I knew they were doing their best and when my salad came, it was so delicious. I also ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and it was a very generous pour maybe making up for the lack of help that day. It did help me enjoy my lunch very much. I would go there just to go there even if I wasn’t attending anything at the hotel.“

“Was a little pricey for three people for three people that came out to about $53 to $57.00 waited a long time just to order our food and then had to wait a little bit longer just to get our order it took a little longer than expected but other then that the food was really good.“
