“I found this place 2 years ago as a quick lunch with a friend who is pescatarian . We definitely found a gem because we’ve been coming here ever since. Their lunch specials are pretty reasonable and you get a lot of food. Brought my daughter for dinner tonight and she loved it. We recommend the caterpillar roll and the spider roll.“

“We happened upon this place, honestly. Because we needed to use the restroom but, we wanted to be good patrons and checked out the menu. Opted for the Jerk Chicken Bao Bun & Blackened Shrimp appetizers.
Oh my god!! I swear, they have the absolute BEST jerk chicken I've ever tasted. Perfectly grilled/smoked and flavorful and just the right spice, on a soft steamed bun. The blackened shrimp was also phenomenal with great char and served atop jerk sauce and tropical fruit to complement the heat & sweetness.
The gentleman who served us (our bill said his name was Jims D) what a great conversationalist. We talked about the history of the place and how they are working to get their liquor license (which is taking quite a bit of time with the city, btw). We were having about the food and he mentioned another dish they were cooking up, which included this amazing cheezy/garlicky mashed potatoes. Tasted like it had both regular & sweet potatoes. If we weren't already so full, we would've got some to go!!

“Me and my mom stopped by while in town for a concert and everything literally was PERFECT. we have been raving in the car since leaving and Tiffany was the most perfect server that we were blessed with. We had the pretzel app, the stockyard fries, and the mac and cheese with bacon and everything was out quickly and again, absolutely astonishing!!! much love to Tiffany, and because she was so proactive we got to the concert DEAD ON time.“

The crab cakes were delicious also. The cocktails were great too; had Manhattans and Mojitos. Just a classic Manhattan, but the Mojito was special; instead of the muddled mint was a mint liquor; delicious. We were in the bar very near to the door to the Union Station main floor on a very cold day; it was only slightly drafty and noise level not bad considering there were a surprising amount of people; including many families out and about on such a cold day but a Sunday with holiday on Monday; many people visiting the Titanic exhibit, Science City and more. Overall a lovely visit.“

“Vietnam Cafe is one of my favorite places to eat. We all love the pho. Spring rolls are amazing and so are the crab rangoons. Our last visit there must have been an ice shortage. “Great place. I arrived for dinner on a Friday about 5:20 and there were just a few other diners, but it quickly filled over the next 20 minutes. My server was attentive and prompt, noticing when I gave him a look indicating that I had a request.

The clientele was ethnically diverse, mostly between 30-60 years of age. The vibe is casual and friendly. There was one family with a young child. It's a place I would come for a date or with my family or friends.

The food was good and reasonably priced. I had the bi bim bap with chicken ($18), a side of kimchi ($5), and a specialty beer ($10). The only disappointment and reason for 4 stars was that the diced chicken breast was overcooked and tough.

If I lived in KC I'd probably be back, but I wouldn't get chicken breast.“

“It was a busy evening since the Chiefs had just won in the afternoon, so I was glad that I had made reservations. (When we were leaving, there were still many people coming in.) Met up with my son and daughter-in-love who were traveling back to Kansas from Michigan. We enjoyed several "Happy Hour" drink specials and menu options that were available even though it was a Sunday, which was very nice! Our server, Sol, was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Any delays were not her fault, but were attributed to the restaurant being so busy. Son and DIL are seasoned sushi patrons and had been to Blue Sushi Sake Grill previously, but I had not. It was nice that there were a couple of non-sushi options - I enjoyed the lettuce wraps and also a house salad with grilled chicken and honey sesame dressing. Overall, a very nice experience for our unplanned, early "Thanksgiving."“

“🚨GUACAMOLE CHANGE! We’ve been coming to Ponaks for 30 years. The guacamole has aways been one of our favorites. Today we ordered it and immediately noticed something was different. We asked the server and he confirmed that they have changed their recipe, and it’s for the worst. They’ve added “filler” by putting pico and other ingredients into it. It’s not even close to what it was. I hope they don’t start changing their food and Margaritas!!! There is a reason people keep coming back year after year! Please dont mess with perfection Ponaks!“
