“Wow! First off, this was my first actual experience of Bosnian cuisine. Many of our office rank Taste of Bosnia as the BEST in the area and they definitely set the bar!As a group, we ordered the Sarme (cabbage rolls), Mjesano Meso (meat platter), Buffalo Chicken, Kupus salata (cabbage salad) & Jahnija (stew).Everyone devoured their food. I had the cabbage rolls, and they are delectable! Filled with a finely minced meat, saurkraut then covered in a sauce, I was blown away by the balance of flavors. The thick & moist scoop of mashed potatoes was perfect to mix with the meal.All meals came with thick, fresh bread which was a nice treat & sour cream to spread on it.The restaurant was sparking clean with a warm, welcoming interior. I was surprised to find out the restaurant isn't brand new, as every single space is immaculate and well decorated.The service was excellent as well. The lady at the counter was super polite asking if I've been here before, then welcomed me as a guest.I cannot wait to try the whole menu. If you want authentic Bosnian cuisine, then this is an absolute must. If you want to feel comfortable & full with savory delicious food in a welcoming welcoming environment then DEFINITELY come here.I will be back with my family!Parking: The parking lot is MASSIVE & wide open. The location is easy to find and across the street from Tuckers.Kid-friendliness: This is the epidimy of clean, family dining. It's a nice quiet location. I'm taking my family for sure.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is in an open strip mall. However, there is a vestibule which is nice, but sometimes difficult to navigate in a chair. The restaurant interior is wide open and spacious.“
“Bogarts 4.5/5 Sugarfire 0/5 Pappy's 5/5 Bogarts has pastrami which we didn't see anywhere else, so we tried that. Very good! The ribs are also very good but Pappy's is just a tad better. Bogarts was a little more difficult to get to via public transportation, but it's doable. We came at 3 (they close at 4) on a weekday and it was empty. Same coleslaw as Pappy's (we were told they have the same owner) which is vinegar base with cabbage and apple. Great compliment to the rich bbq. I did need some sauce on the ribs here and there but nothing close to Sugarfire (tough and dry).“

“This is the face of a VERY happy birthday boy. The driver was professional, and very kind to the children. Multiple people around the area were excited to see the ice cream truck too. He did our party and other sales. How he managed that I will never know. Because the kids were coming in left and right. I was excited that this business had sonic the hedgehog ice cream. But they exceeded my expectation on the variety of treats. We purchased bracelets for our party guests so the driver could know they were with the party. It worked out beautifully. I was actually able to purchase extra sonic the hedgehog ice creams and snocones! I will definitely be using them in the future. Great reasonable price and so friendly.“

“Pasta House catered our wedding, and they did an amazing job!!! They made the whole day a breeze! The food was delicious and we had plenty of leftovers!!! My husband and I wanted ice cream for dessert. They placed the order with Ted Drewes, picked it up, and brought it to the venue. They even let my baker bring the cake to them the day of, and they handled it from there. The bar was awesome!! The drinks were delicious and ll the staff from serves to bartenders were so friendly! Our wedding was at the World's Fair Pavillion which has some stricted guidelines/rules which we were worried about. Pasta House took care of all of it and didn't let us worry once about it. “I *LOVE* Best Box Lunches! We used to use them quite frequently for work lunches and events, but our office remains shut down from the pandemic and we've missed them! When we were recently working at a Habitat build site and needed a lunch delivery, they were my first thought. AS ALWAYS, they were early, the orders were perfect, and the food is delicious! My go to is the camerones al diablo (well, currently, anyways) and I have decided that between the quesadilla and the torta, the torta wins. It's the grilled bread with crispy cheese edges and idk how they do it but this is a sandwich that keeps me coming back for more.I've been coming to this place formerly known to myself and others affectionately as The Taco Stand for over a couple decades! It seriously used to be a one room shack on the corner of California and Cherokee. Now the enlarged building multiplies its size by at least 10! The outdoor patio on the corner is larger than the whole joint started out.It's now formatted so you order and seat yourself, which works out well as far as I can tell. And takeout is just as easy. IT DOES GET BUSY, so if you suspect you're in a time crunch you could always go to another spot nearby and grab Mexican at a (potentially) less busy spot.ALL of the Mexican restaurants on Cherokee have great items on their menus and and it's worth exploring all of them to see what you like where. But basically La Vallesana is my go-to when I'm not being particular and maybe want to go be anonymous somewhere.The last thing I have to say about La Vallesana is that you might want to think about dessert first, so you can save room. When you enter, all the house made ice cream and aguas frescas like horchata are also not to be overlooked. Plan ahead.Saturdays seem to be busiest and I am here on a Tuesday after lunch rush, and there's still a steady flow of customers. 5 stars out of 5 here. “Went to a wedding tasting for my nephew. It's an old church converted to event space and a restaurant. We had a table set up for us in the middle of the redesigned cafeteria. It was a beautiful table set with a very eclectic mix of dinnerware. Really cute. The tasting consisted of two appetizers, two salads, two entrees and two sides. Everything that we tasted was delicious. goat cheese and duxelles on toast, shrimp cocktail, chicken piccata, beef tenderloin, pasta with green peas and dill, green beans, mashed potatoes and wine. The chef who prepared the food brought it out and explained it all to us. Very impressive. The menu has a large variety of choices. If you are planning a wedding, the space includes a chapel, bride and groom dressing areas and a lounge upstairs. It is a very cool space. The people were super nice and explained everything to us. What a nice evening. Nestled in the cute Holly Hills neighborhood. I highly recommend!“
