“I’m visiting from out of town and saw a 5 star sushi take-out spot so had to check it out!
They were so friendly and everything is so fresh!
They were finishing up my order when I came in so I told them “no need need add the wasabi, save it” and then they made me a special piece with fresh wasabi on it (they source amazingly and don’t drench it in horse radish) and I could handle it! It was actually amazing!
Thanks for a fun, personal experience while I waited! I hope everyone in the neighborhood continues to support your local business :)“

“Eating here is a must if you visit St Louis. My boyfriend and I went two days in a row. The service was amazing, the sushi is very high quality, it comes out quickly, and the cheesecake tempura is divine. 10/10“

“I've been looking for a new sushi spot that's close by, and it looks like I've found it! The sushi was fresh, delicious, and affordable. I've paid more for less quality sushi in St. Louis. The guy behind the counter seemed genuinely happy, and honestly, I would be too if I could eat this sushi every day. Next time, I plan to try one of the specialty rolls.“

“Wonderful food. Elegantly presented sashimi, sushi, takoyaki, gyoza, udon, don buri (bowls of food), and other Japanese options. Many many types of sushi rolls. In total, there is not only more than standard Japanese fare, but it is also delicious, high quality, and beautifully presented. Many different sakes, mixed drinks, and Japanese beers along with international Gin, bourbon, tequila, rum options. They even have Japanese soda pop. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely decor with exquisite hand painted scenes. I had been there once before and couldn’t wait to go back for seconds to show my adult son who also, this day enjoyed his food immensely.“

“I was pleasantly surprised to find such fresh sashimi, especially since it’s not an expensive omakase spot. We had salmon, toro, eel, all incredibly fresh and impressive. They also offer uni from Hokkaido and California sometimes, which sell out fast because they’re so fresh. The scallop sashimi was a delightful first for me—so sweet! The rolls are amazing too; the lobster roll had an entire lobster in it. The chef is top-notch, and they have a great selection of Japanese sake to complement the food. This place truly exceeded my expectations for an affordable sushi restaurant.“

“BLK MKT has been one of my go to places for year so I was kind of worried when they moved locations.
But they are still absolutely killing it and the food and service is fantastic.
If you like sushi or poke bowls give this place a visit. Hell even if you don't they can probably change your opinion“

“Dear ichiban, you are truly the most amazing Japanese restaurant in St. Louis. One time, we came here four nights in a row and the owners didn’t even judge us. They are always nice to us. It is so good I love the udon and yellowtail sashimi.“

“Place was empty on a Saturday afternoon. Didn't have high expectations, but was blown away. Especially by the Tuna Tataki nachos and Lobster spring rolls. Should have stopped there, but also has the Tuna Crudo. Service was excellent. Bartender really hustled. Will go back for sure.“

“First time visiting this place last night with friends and everything was 10/10! Atmosphere, service, food, and drinks were all perfect. Can’t wait to visit again next time I’m in town.“
“In town for the weekend, about the only place to stay in St Louis for location and comfort. Especially the central location . Comfortable, well appointed rooms , lots of space, great view of downtown St Louis in the distance. Highly recommend.“
“Went to the Ritz last night for their New Years Celebration. My shoe strap broke when walking in and I didn’t know what to do. But the staff there saved the day. I’ve never experienced such amazing hospitality. They saw me struggling and came to my rescue. Shoutout to Kenna for helping me. She not only offered a solution, but she sat on the floor and took 10 minutes to fix my shoe herself. All of the staff are so amazing and kind. My shoe stayed on all night and I was able to fully enjoy their amazing party. Thank you guys again ❤️“

“Great Pad Thai and sushi. Clean dining room. Attentive staff. On one occasion,, I was there near closing and they started cleaning the restrooms and the chemicals reached our table through the air as they were spraying the tables down (terrible practice I frequently notice in restaurants - you should spray the rag directly instead while patrons are present for this exact reason). Now I just make sure I'm not there on the later side of dinner service.
Parking: Practically empty lot as most (all?) of the other businesses in the same strip mall have closed.“

“My favorite all you can eat sushi place! Sushi is great, they have all the sauces you’d want (unlike sushi Ai) This is our go to spot! Prices are unbeatable! Also as someone with Celiac Disease I never had a problem eating here, they make accommodations if I need something changed.
Parking: Lots of parking, open lot.“

“Strong argument for the best sushi in St Louis. We had the 10 course tasting menu from the social hour menu and it was incredible. The Isaan Hamachi was the best single bite of food I had in 2024. Remarkable clarity of flavor in everything.“
