“I have lived in 7 states in my life and this is one of my the best restaurants I’ve ever been too. Consistently the best Walleye in the world and the ambiance for a fisherman/hunter like myself is top notch. The most underrated restaurant in Saint Louis. If I was on death row and they asked me what I wanted for my last meal I would say “TAKE ME TO YELLOWSTONE CAFE PLEASE”.“

“Husband and I first time eating here for lunch. We were served super yummy garlic butter bread right away. I ordered sweet tea - I am always hesitant about this when I visit a restaurant for the first time because I am a complete tea snob but it was perfect amount of sweet and most importantly home brewed! We had the seafood broil meant for 2 people - called Big Bend boil I think. Absolutely out of this world delicious Cajun flavor. We picked the “very hot” option because we have a high tolerance and it definitely had a kick! We will probably go hotter next time but that probably wouldn’t be for everyone, we are heat freaks. Lastly our waiter was wonderful, right amount of tentative and friendly. Wish I got his name. We will be back!“

The staff at this restaurant went over and above for us, especially Michelle and one other server, I am sorry that I couldn’t see his name tag and I didn’t want to be rude. “We had a table reserved and arrived a few minutes early. The place was packed but they immediately seated us and were very attentive. We were quickly waited on, drinks showed up, order taken and food was on our table very timely. Friendly staff, excellent food and great prices. We could not have had a better experience. “I've lived in St. Louis for a little over 20 years and I've heard about the Capital Grill but never visited before. I decided for my birthday this year, we'd try it. I even offered to split the cost with my wife since I had heard it was expensive. Well, it was expensive, but sometimes you absolutely get what you pay for - I was blown away. We started with a giant piece of bacon as an appetizer (Nueske's Cherrywood Smoked Bacon with Korean BBQ). It was about 1/2 in thick cut into bite sized chunks and it was delicious! We moved on to soup, my wife had the french onion soup with was covered with a thick layer of cheese, I had the lobster bisque, and my daughter had the butternut squash bisque - all three were good. The lobster in my bisque was tender and flavorful. I had the 14oz KC strip, my daughter had the 10oz filet, and my wife had the roasted chicken breast. My daughter's filet was easily 12oz and it was cooked perfectly, my KC strip was cooked perfectly and very flavorful, and my wife's chicken was huge (and delicious since I ate her leftovers the next day for lunch). We ordered creamed spinach and parmesan truffle fries for the table. The sides were good but not as good as the other items. Next time (and we will be back) we will probably go with mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach. We split the cream brulee and the flourless chocolate espresso cake for desert and because it was my birthday they brought me a sample of the cheesecake and coconut cream pie on a plate with Happy Birthday written out in icing. I'll definitely get the cream brulee again, it was perfect and my wife and daughter loved the cake. Sometimes you just gotta splurge and when you get that urge - try the Capital Grill, you won't regret it. (And by the way, my wife ended up picking up the check - so maybe it was that expensive.)“

“Stayed up late and made a reservation a month in advance for my hubby‘s birthday and it was well worth it. Wright’s has a romantic & moody vibe, perfect for a date night. We started off with the crab cake which was by far the most delectable bite we had. An absolute must have! For our entrees, we chose the potato-crusted halibut and 14oz New York strip. The halibut was delicate in flavor, but the lemon beurre blanc sauce packed richness. Unfortunately the NY strip was disappointing. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare, however the steak & crust itself was dry & tough. We would recommend future guests just stick with the seafood entree options, as they were absolutely delicious. The onions rings were good as is, but the tavern aioli made them great. The service we received was impeccable. Overall, we still had a 5 star experience at Wright’s and will be back!“

“The Mad Crab is the Best. The fist time I came here was for my 41st birthday my dinner party was huge. I had a ball this is my Favorite restaurant now . I love the crab legs & shrimp boil with the shabang /triple threat sauce medium. It was seasoned to perfection.“

“Best fish and chips to enjoy when they are here. Perfect location as it is close to home and I get my meals on my way home from work. Staff is so friendly. Wish if they took pre-orders the lines are usually so long and sometimes not easy to wait when the temperatures are not the perfect conditions. Can we get a little more fries? “Food as usual did not disappoint, however this was the first time we had Dave as a server, and the services was subpar for what we are used to at Kreis" Steakhouse. Maybe it was just a bad not, but it was continuous throughout the evening, as well as waiting on our check for 15 minutes before having to ask for it.“

We got a call today and they had a fire so they couldn’t open but graciously made us a reservation at j Gilbert’s. My son got sick so I had to stay home but they called me and said they made her the fried cauliflower that she loves at Bristol’s tonight at j Gilbert’s!! “Had Chris’ birthday dinner at Stoney River Steakhouse. As our server Tate was amazing! The steaks were tender enough to cut with a fork and the carrot cake for Chris was exceptional! Tate made the birthday experience for Chris extra special… and he made sure to keep my Long Island properly filled and made sure my chocolate cake had the proper amount of ganache! Great birthday dinner! Excellent food. AMAZING service!“

“This is one of my favorite restaurants. It has a wonderful Mongolian barbecue along with an incredible assortment of Asian foods. Their hot and sour soup is one of the best I’ve ever had. The sushi is very good and the service is always been polite and very attentive to clear plates. I have never been rushed as I enjoy talking endlessly to friends while eating here. The bathrooms are elegant and very clean however, I think the bathroom doors are very heavy. I believe that is why they are usually blocked open. They also have very quiet hand dryers. The lobby is also elegant , the doors are hard to open because there is a very strong air handling system that keeps fresh air circulated I enjoy bringing friends here For a relaxing meal and conversation. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good place to eat.“

“This review is for the bakery ONLY. Everytime we go to St. Louis, we stop here (We live at the Lake of the Ozarks). The mini custard pies are amazing, try the fried, sesame seed balls which are filled with two different kinds of bean custard, both are delicious.
The yeast buns are stuffed with a variety of sweets and cheeses and are killer. On the right side of the shop as you enter, there are usually a few versions of the Dim Sum they serve next door in the restaurant and they are all DELICIOUS!

I've purchased the Duck & the deep fried pork hanging in the window, several times & it's been legit. We buy half a duck because there's only 3 of us, but plenty. I always order a small order of their rice so we can eat our duck at the hotel.
It can be VERY crowded on the weekends, so come as soon as they open. There's usually only the one lady working the register and dude chopping up the duck & pork, but they're fast. A++++ It's not cheap but it's soooo worth it.“
