“First time trying Elvie’s today and I told my boyfriend I wanted us to become Saturday morning regulars! What a fun and cozy atmosphere. I had an omelette and it was the lightest, fluffiest omelette I’ve ever had, so good! My boyfriend had the Shrimp and Grits and he really enjoyed it. I hate I’d waited so long to try Elvie’s! Also, the postcard you get with your bill was such a sweet touch.“

“The birria tacos are absolutely amazing. The service was great, my friend and I sat at the bar and the woman working it was very nice, attentive, and answered questions about recommendations. Only thing is that the salsa kinda tastes like marinara sauce instead of salsa, but it's still good. Great prices for everything too.“

“My husband and I were in Jackson with a few hours to kill. We stopped a nice couple in Highland Village to ask where they would recommend us eating lunch. We were both very pleased with their recommendation. I enjoyed the linguine with crawfish tails on which our attentive waitress helped me decide. My husband enjoyed the carne pizza. “We went to Lou's Full-Serv last night to celebrate our anniversary. It wasn’t our first time but it was our first time to get the filet and holy hell was it good. We ordered the steak and fries and got the filet for our cut. Cooked perfectly medium rare with nothing but a little salt, pepper and char grill to give it flavor. It was hands down the best steak I’ve ever eaten and sooo worth the price. You also get a mound of the most delicious hand cut fries which I couldn’t finish but took them home because they’re that good. Got the s’mores cheesecake for dessert which we split. It wasn’t the s’mores cheesecake I remember from the old restaurant but it was still delicious. Then of course an order of bread pudding that I brought home for breakfast because I can’t go to Lou’s without getting the bread pudding. I didn’t get a picture of the steak and wish I did so you could all see its gloriousness.“

“Today was the 1st time I’ve been to The Manship. We sat outside as the day was overcast and comfortable temps. The atmosphere is laid back southern elegance. Lunch menu choices made it difficult to choose. We started with the seasonal cocktail, a very Manship twist on a French 75 served frozen in a coupe and garnished with a violet. This is one I hope they make a permanent part of their menu. Perfect balance of sweet/sour and delightful on the palate. Next we shared smoked tuna dip served with what I think were fried tortillas seasoned with chili lime and saltine crackers. It rivals the best smoked tuna dip I’ve ever had from along the Atlantic. For entrees we chose small plates: Manship Woodfired Oysters served with focaccia and a special of Bbq pork belly served with Brussel Sprout slaw. I am not fond of brussel sprouts & surprisingly I loved the slaw. The oysters were beautifully served in a dish that kept them warm and not overcooked. The thick slices of bread were perfect for dipping in the butter sauce used in cooking the oysters. The pork belly was so good. Just the right amount of rub and sauce cooked to tender, melt in your mouth perfection. Our server was a total pro. I feel so bad because I didn’t write down her name. My daughter who was with me once worked as a server at a restaurant much like Manship. She was very impressed because our dishes arrived in perfect order and timing. She was knowledgeable about every item on the menu. Do yourself a favor and go eat at this wonderful establishment! We will come back!“

“The food was excellent, especially the baklava! The atmosphere is intimate and pleasant, and a little romantic. My husband and I had the lamb chops and the chicken kebab, both were great. The price was reasonable — about $45 for two appetizers, one soft drink, two generous meal plates including rice and vegetables, one Turkish coffee, and two baklavas. Very good value! We will be back.“

“EVERYTHING! All 3 of us got different, perfectly cooked and artfully plated fish dishes and enjoyed a pan of cornbread and strawberry salad with feta and vinaigrette. Bread pudding was STUPENDOUS as was the Caramel Pie. Our server was attentive, helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to return at lunch with friends. Definitely going to become frequent diners and meet up with friends. Great price point for this establishment! A GREAT FIRST VISIT! 100/100“

“The Library is definitely a hidden gem of Jackson. McKenzie was an amazing waitress. She talked us thru all menus and gave us all her recommendations. I strongly recommend having a reservation for the best spot in the place. The food was amazing with so many different flavors. We will absolutely be returning!!!“

“We have been here twice now. First for drinks & watch a game. Second visit we ate with drinks. Service was prompt and friendly. Huge selection of beer on tap! I had the bacon cheeseburger with barbecue sauce. Literally one of the best burgers I have ever had. Burger was hot and fresh! My son had the chicken tenders and asked for them to be tossed in buffalo sauce. He said they were excellent and he is a super picky eater! The atmosphere is lovely and old school tavern feel. “I absolutely love Valley St Fish, when I have a fish craving this is my go to place. The only thing I dislike is that this place has probably been in business since before I was born and they have don’t no upgrades to the building or parking. You would think with all these centuries of being in business they would make some improvements to the place. You also have to have life insurance to park and cross the street to get to the building as traffic is horrendous. Other than this it’s the best fish place in the city.“

But happened to do a quick search anyway and Right on Time there it was like a Light House in a storm...Capitol Grill...kitchen open surprisingly late. I gotta say that the food was absolutely delicious! Even to be later in the evening, everything we ordered was fresh and very well prepared. We weren't rushed at all like some places will do when you come in off peak hours for the kitchen. We received Wonderful A+ service from our waitress who gave good recommendations for dinner when we requested them and had fun shooting a couple games of pool afterwards. Overall Great Experience! Incredible that fried Mississipi Catfish with the jalapeño corn bread, and all the other side dishes like the deep-fried corn and green bean pickles and the hushpuppies? I honestly don't recall the name of that last one, but do yourself a favour and hop over if you're around. All the flavours complemented each other so well!“

“First time going there and had the pig ear slider one was hot the other was mild. The hot is hot like very hot , but the mild was better but they both were delicious. Also had the tamales and they were good as well. I will most definitely be back.“
