“Mint is the best restaurant in the Boone/Blowing Rock area! The food is fantastic, most ingredients from India. Cucumber salad and hot cauliflower appetizer, the saag options are all amazing. The service is attentive, friendly and professional. Aman is the best. He remembers us and makes us feel special plus he makes the most delicious drink - Mango Mojito. Atmosphere is nice, and to top it all off it’s a great value.“

“So I had never eaten at a Penn Station before. Decided to grab some sandwiches to take home and stopped in. The two employees that were working were Tim and August. Tim took the order and then rang it up at the other end while she made my sandwiches.
Very pleasantly surprised on multiple levels. They had a special going on for teriyaki chicken that included a lemonade and fries so I went with that. The Cheese Steak, Chicken, Parm, and Italian all looked great as well (next time).

My wife had a Veggie sub and both of us thoroughly enjoyed the subs. I was also surprised by the fresh cut french fries that reminded me of Five Guys. These were cooked perfectly hot and fresh and salted just right. I never order lemonade, but that seems to be one of their specialties so I went with that and it was delicious. The only lemonade I have had that is better is probably at Toomers Drugs in Auburn, AL (War Eagle).

Will certainly visit this sub shop again because I think it might be my favorite based on the service, bread, delicious ingredients, and the fries served with lemonade. It was a good find and I’m glad I stopped in. I think there are 320 Penn Station sandwich shops covering 15 states and mostly in the Midwest, but I’m glad there is one in Boone North Carolina.

“I was looking for a great cheeseburger 🍔 and Cardinal Food & Spirits didn't disappoint. Fresh & Delicious. I asked if they could make my burger with pickles and special sauce and they were accommodating. I highly recommend them if you're ever in Boone, NC.“

“I was very disappointed. Usually their pizza is excellent this was over cooked and not well made. We ordered it from a delivery service have my granddaughter got a flat bread pizza that she couldn’t even eat she said it was disgusting. Just a suggestion maybe you want to use the mini chocolate chips in your cannolis I think they would be much better than trying to eat the big ones with the cheese mixture. At least they were good. Their house vinaigrette was very good at least I enjoyed the salad!“

“Well, I drank some beers, and then I had a few more. Then I stumbled out yonder to the food truck and got me a little bit to eat. Then, I was ready to drink another couple of brews. So I did just that. Then I walked somewhere else and did similar things that were fun and exciting to me like jai alai or chess. I'm longing for a strategic game of Twister at the moment. “I have always loved Melanie’s. When I was in college it was a special treat. Since moving away after college, it’s a restaurant I try to make sure to visit when we are in town as often as I can. My daughter has multiple food allergies and so eating out can be tricky. Breakfast places can be especially challenging for her. I emailed Melanie’s this week because we were going to be in town for breakfast Saturday and I REALLY wanted to share my favorite breakfast place with her. I got a very fast response, that was clearly knowledgeable about food allergies and helped us with our decision. “I'm not sure why the reviews are so bad. The food is a great price and the staff is friendly. I get their lunch specials and sushi frequently. The food is consistent in quality. They added a lunch buffet recently that they are trying to spread the word about. If it becomes popular enough I hope they're able to add sushi to it.
This place is definitely a hidden gem. Worth checking out.“

“Our waitress was a young Hispanic girl that was very nice and courteous, although she got part of our order wrong I think it was just a misunderstanding and we weren't charged for it. Food was great and delivered timely. Would return if I'm ever in the area again.“
