“I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! If you’re sick or just having a bad day, there is genuinely no better pick-me-up in chapel hill. I’ve ordered from here 3 times so far & they’ve never disappointed. My favorite is the pork belly noodle soup, but I’ve also gotten the braised beef noodle soup as well as the beef broth with celery & scallion (excellent for a sore throat!). The braised beef noodle soup was a bit too spicy for me, but our server never stopped filling up my water so it wasn’t a problem lol. I’d recommend the pork belly noodle soup as a safe first choice if you’ve never been here ^^ it’s soo flavorful & always makes me feel better. It’s not spicy at all & has plenty of pork.

The restaurant itself is a little cramped & the seats are a bit uncomfortable, but service is quick. I’ve never waited longer than a minute to be seated or be brought my order after i came in :)“

“A really solid Chinese restaurant. The menu is fairly tight, not overbloated, which can be a pro or a con depending how you like it. There is a mix of classic Chinese-American dishes like sesame chicken, as well as some more traditional Chinese dishes like some Szechuan hot pots (we got the eggplant hotpot, very tasty), and shrimp walnut. You won't find any of the more adventurous Chinese dishes like intestines, lotus root, lamb, etc. Overall however, we enjoyed the food. The salt and pepper fried squid in particular was a treat.“

“Pleasantly surprised!!!! We have not gotten takeaway from Panda Garden for quite a while now because it seemed that it was getting more and more expensive while the quality was getting worse. But last night we decided to give it another try, and we were impressed. The menu has expanded, the online ordering process is easier, the prices are appropriate, and the food was great! NY style Chinese food that's super nice for a movie night on a cold evening. We will put Panda Garden back in our rotation for takeout nights!“

“Celebrated Chinese New Year with friends on Sunday at Lunch time. We were the only table but they were very busy with takeout orders. We ordered Happy Family, General Taos Chicken. Seafood Delight, Chicken wings, steamed Broccoli, noodles and pork dish and shared. All of the dishes were very good and the waitress took time to take photos for us.“

“We received the best service from Mariah this Sat. It was a party of 25 guests, she serviced use with 100% customer service. the food was great and we were leaving a funeral which was a bad day for all, we left feeling a littler lighter, due to the our server. She is a GEM.“

“I honestly judge an Asian restaurant on its hot and sour soup. I am delighted to discover that Peony Asian Bistro's hot and sour soup may be the best I've EVER had--and that is saying something! It was just the right level of sour and spicy, and the fresh mushrooms floating on top were absolutely delicious. In addition, the consistency of the broth was perfect. Far too many restaurants make it so that the soup is more like gelatin than liquid--ugh. The portion sizes for lunch were very generous, and while the beef and broccoli I ordered was not as flavorful as the soup, it was still pretty good. Finally, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. When I realized I had left my wallet at home, they offered Apple Pay and I was able to have a truly delicious lunch. I am a very happy customer and will definitely visit often!“

I took a break from my jobsite to come eat and I am very glad I did. The only thing I could find wrong is the size of the plate. It was over filling. They need bigger plates. “I have been disappointed with the food at every other Chinese place since I have moved to NC in 2018.. but this place was absolutely delicious! Flavorful, spicy without being too over the top. Chicken was crunchy and not soggy. Crab Rangoon was quality. Absolutely thrilled with our meal. And my fiancé and I are super picky.

The fried rice is actually fresh. Flavor is lighter, but there's so much good sauce, u can easily mix it with the rice.

“First of all - the best orange chicken I've ever had, hands down. They give a lot of sauce, and it has just the right amount of pleasant spiciness to it. The portions are massive for the price point. I can usually get at least three meals out of an order. I try to leave a good tip, because the food seems underpriced for the size, to be honest. The rice is good, but not excellent like the chicken.

When I get food here, I genuinely plan my day around it.

The staff are courteous and efficient, with a pleasant demeanor. The one time I ate in, our server was a very welcoming and warm person.

I'd still recommend taking out though probably. The dining area is fine, but a bit dreary in my opinion. I think COVID probably hampered their dining area. There can also be an unfortunate smell, which I'm sure isn't the fault of the restaurant because I've smelled it outside that area as well.
