“The steak tacos were excellent! Lots of cilantro, a few more onions would be good but overall, super yummy. I had the chicken/mexican sausage sopes. The sopes was really chewy and kind of hard. Didn’t get a taste of sausage but enjoyed the flavors. I’ll be back for taco, for sure!“

“Stopped by to give them a try after work. Everything was high quality and they didn't seem to skimp on their selections, from homemade hot sauces to real sour cream! They even use good quality onions. My Fajita was delicious and the sauces were so complex! They were definitely more than just hot, they had a fantastic flavor. You can really see the quality in the things they cook here and my waitress truly seemed to care about my feelings toward the food. Here the food is a tribute to excellence. I also told the waitress when she asked if I needed a container for the cheese dip "I'll probably pour it overtop like a heathen!" To which she happily said "that's fine!" no judgement here lol! “Stumbled upon this place while hosting an out of town friend. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in. Very laid back, nice atmosphere. We opted to sit at the bar for drinks & dinner. Tim was very friendly and answered a few questions we had about the menu. I had the Paloma and my friend had the Tequila old fashioned. Probably the best Paloma I've ever had. I tasted the old fashioned too, & it was amazing! Chips & salsa was really good- fresh, thick chips and a nice variety of salsas. Then.. the meals! Flavor, texture, presentation.. it was all amazing and fresh, high quality ingredients. I will spread the word about this place because it's really the best Mexican restaurant we've been to in Asheville.“

My old joke that a good Mexican restaurant has a big TV and a soccer game running stands true here as well.

But what makes this place great is the food. It is more California Mex, which this former Californian misses.

Basic as it is, I almost always get the chicken burrito. Interesting blend of flavors, and just the right amount of sour cream to carry the entire meal.“

“Super solid place to eat. Walked in with the husband about an hour to close and got a papusa mix, fried plantains, and 2 jerk chicken burritos as combos.
Older dude running the register was super nice and helpful and totally upsold us the plantains(so so worth it)
Service was honestly some of the best I've had.

Papusas were some of the best I've ever had and came out sooo hot and melty
Plantains were heavenly!
Cheese dip was not the best
Beandip was bomb
Jerk chicken was really good but I felt could've had more spice. All the toppings tasted fresh and were amazing.

“Parking: Parking lot is shared with the massage envy, sport clips, and the sushi place but even though the whole place was busy there were still plenty of parking spots.

Wheelchair accessibility: Kinda tight corners on the outside and the door opens from the outside so getting in with no help would be kinda interesting, however there might be a better way on the other side, I'm not sure though!“

“This is an often overlooked but great place. More people should try it. They accommodate vegetarians better than any other Mexican place in Asheville. -Not only by offering great spanish rice without chicken fat, but by being very friendly! There is one other restaurant that offers the rice, but they tend to be rude and impatient.

Vegetarian options: Like I already said, the Spanish rice is vegetarian. That's very rare. Also they have plenty of options for meals and the refried beans are without lard- not always a given. Guacamole has no sour cream for those avoiding dairy.“

The burritos are huge flavorful the ingredients are not bland like at chipotle, they actually salt and season the meats and other toppings. Kid-friendliness: There is NO play area, but they do or at least did at the time of this post have booster seats for kids. They offer tables with the height just right for kids that are able to sit by their selves to still reach their food! They have a single men's bathroom and a single woman's bathroom, which are spacious and have emergency bars if needed.

Wheelchair accessibility: They have the extra widened doors, handicapped bathrooms, handicapped parking spots. No stairs. There's plenty of room to move around, and the floor is going to be concrete outside.“
