“Surprisingly this place was not your typical fast food restaurant. My sister had me try Bo Rounds for the first time. The server was really nice and gave us the Cajun seasoning on the side. They came out quickly and were warm, slightly crispy on the outside, and not greasy at all, though also didn't seem too dry. The restaurant was bright and clean as well. As a vegan I probably won't purposefully visit again but it's good to know there's at least one thing on the menu I could get in a pinch!“

“I'm with a lot of the other reviews. Over priced much....... got the Gumbo. If you're going to serve someone Half of the container maybe put it in a smaller container so the customer doesn't feel jipped. The Gumbo was very flavorful with the right amount of spice. But 1 small scoop of rice..... rice is very inexpensive and they put it in a huge container to make it seem even smaller. $17 for a lunch. Nope“

“You may wait longer in this drive through than anywhere else - because your food hasn't been sitting under warming lights. They don't cook much ahead, so your order is fresh. My favorite is their monster burger and onion rings with a peach shake. This is a local treasure.“

“It was our first visit to the angus steakhouse in hickory, nc. It was the best dine in experience we have EVER encountered. It felt like a true small town steakhouse. “The service is wonderful & everyone is so friendly. Most of the food is what you'd expect of a pub, some a little more creative, all absolutely delicious, & portions are very large. The mixed drinks are very well made. Everything is reasonably priced. The ambiance is cool both in & outside. The location is completely unexpected. I lived right up the street from this place for a good while without even knowing it, and the game nights are super fun so we will definitely be making lots of return trips!!“

“Thus place was so unique the kids and adults loved it! The waitress came back 4 times to check on us we alwayse had refills and the food came out fast and hot. For four of us to eat three of which were regular adult meals and one kids meal was 60.00 very reasonable for the quality of food and portions you get. If you get a chance to go get the potatoe salad it's homemade and delicious. Thank you for the wonderful experience.“

“If you need lots of choices for your picky eaters in the family, this is a good place to go. Menu is full of varieties to choose. It was not a four or five star on food taste, but you can't beat having the options to satisfy them all at one location. The servers are polite and make sure your glass stays full. You sit in an open dining room. The price is reasonable. The special cookies they sell at register are delicious and will be what makes me go back again.“

“Some of the best steaks around! I ate the Outlaw Ribeye and it was heaven! The Porterhouse was excellent as was the Sirloin!!! So juicy and so full of flavor!!! The Parmesan Crusted stuffed mushrooms was AMAZING!!! We live in a small town and drove over an hour to get there and it was well worth it!!! The only "down" side is they are so quick with their service that you're still enjoying your salad/sides when the main course arrives. I understand them needing to turn their tables quickly, but it makes for a rushed meal!!! “My family member invited me to join them for lunch at Backstreets. Despite growing up here, I never knew this restaurant existed until now! I was hesitant at first to try it out because they didn’t have many vegan options. Actually, the only Vegan item I really found was the Asian Kale Salad. Needless to say, I’m happy I did decide to go because that salad was fabulous! It was very large and the flavors in the salad played a tune on my taste buds! Bouncing back and forth between sweet, savory, crunchy, and a hint of spice from the sriracha on the sides… It was the perfect balance for a perfect salad! My husband got the chicken fajita wrap, and he really really enjoyed it. He said it was one of the best wraps he’s had in a long time. My son who is a picky eater REALLY liked his burger, but wasn’t a big fan of the Macaroni and cheese. My husband was though, so take his word for it tasting fresh and made from scratch! My family chimed in and said the grilled chicken is perfection, that’s why they enjoy it as the protein on their salads. We came around lunch time on a week day, and there WAS a wait, but we waited around 10 minutes before we were seated, so that’s not too bad. Once seated and we placed our orders, our food didn’t take very long at all to arrive at the table. The waitresses were very accommodating! If it came to a chain restaurant or Backstreets, I’d definitely choose this place any time. I hope to see that they add more vegetarian and vegan options to their menu soon! If so, I’d become a regular myself! Dishes are around $10-$15 per person depending on what you order. It isn’t exactly a one cash sign establishment, but in this case, it’s a good price to pay if you’re looking for a flavorful dish. On top of that, you’re supporting a small business with a ton of culinary talent! I’d hate for anyone to miss out on that!“

“This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Hickory. Not only is the food delicious, but the owner has gone out of her way to offer an entire menu to people like myself who cannot have gluten. Going to a restaurant nowadays and looking to see if anything is gluten free is always a toss up. Charlie Granger's is the only place where I can come and feel like I can order as a normal person. Getting a burger and fries may not seem like a big deal, but for someone like me who usually can't do it, eating at Charlie Grangers's is a dream come true. All the food is delicious regardless if it's gluten free or not. My wife loves the shrimp burger, and my in laws love the hot dogs. So give this place a try. “We had our first visit for supper tonight. The customer service was excellent. I had my heart set on some good macaroni and cheese, but theirs had tomatoes in it. Nope. We had to go to the counter for drink refills, but that was fine. Each one was given with a smile. The chicken was good, not excellent. I don't know that we will go back.“

They have the best hush puppies in the area and the portions have always been good. We have always thought it was a good value for the money all things considered until COVID. “This place is perfect every time. The indoor seating is the quintessential pub experience. There are two dining areas to choose from, plus a barstool area by the bartender. They also have an outdoor dining area, being part of the union Square. My go to's are the chicken tenders or the bacon cheeseburger plus a local beer on draft. On weeknights I love to bring a book in the evening and just chill out in a cozy booth, eat, and read. The service is great. It does get packed on weekend evenings. If this place was gone, I would cry. This is honestly a great place to have in your go to rotation. It is one of my favorite places in Hickory 100%.“

“The hostesses were lacking. Came at lunch time on Thursday and there were two of them. It was difficult to get an answer out of them other than a 20-minute wait. We finally said okay and we waited. My questions were about outside or were there enough tables in the back that we would be seated in a timely manner. They could not comprehend our questions. They were very young.“

“I do not recommend Windy City Grill. I wouldn’t give a star these days. Grew up eating at Homers. Always was good , but now the quality and price don’t come close. If you charge a premium price for breakfast sandwich it should be decent but the bacon was half cooked and limp on cold bread. The burgers are so thin it’s ridiculous. It doesn’t pay to skimp on quality. No more for us. I’m done with junk food and premium prices. Much better all around.“

“My partner and I were promptly seated in a spacious booth. The atmosphere pleasant to the senses, wasnt crowded or noisy, with a comfortable temperature. The cosmopolitan and IPA arrived quickly with a tall glass of iced water. The potato skins appetizer, which followed shortly thereafter, was average. Our meals..my meal consisted of a crunchy fresh wedge salad with a deliciously chunky blue cheese dressing and chunks of blue cheese, and a perfectly cooked baked potato. My partner had a chicken sandwich with broccoli, which didn't last long. He said the chicken was cooked perfectly tender and tasty with toppings he requested, the broccoli was steamed. “I believe you can only get better with honest feedback. My wife and I celebrated her birthday there tonite. The waitress, Brittany couldn’t have done a better job!! We both had the trout with blue crab. The dish itself was delicious but it was BURIED in a creamy sauce. The sauce was good but it takes away from the trout & crab flavors. A lot less sauce would severely improve the dish. The spinach/goat cheese side salad was perfectly proportioned and awesome. We chose the calamari appetizer. Not the best choice. It was heavily breaded, greasy, and over cooked to the point of being inedible…tough, tough, tough! Wed night wine was 50% off…nice surprise! Dinner was good but not close to the caliber we had come to expect from this establishment. I hope this helps them improve…“

“This is the most amazing restaurant, the most friendly staff with excellent food options, everything we have tried so far has been outstanding- Evan and Will have both been our server on multiple occasions and are always very attentive and treat us like family. I cannot forget to mention Tara the bar manager who remembers our drinks each visit , and Lidia who takes care front of the house and Jamie is a fantastic manager. “I was lucky to get a tee time on 04/13/2023 after a mess up at GolfNow and found a tee time at Player's Ridge. i really enjoyed the layout. the course is set up well and very enjoyable. Some of the greens did not fair to well after the winter. I hope they come back soon. I will be back to play it later this summer once the grass comes in. The staff was very pleasant and quite friendly. I wish I lived closer to play it more often. it has a potential for a great course if a little more money was invested in the course it would be outstanding.“

“Our cousin brought us here for lunch after a morning of shopping. There were 9 of us with 4 of those being kids. I wasn't sure how this would go. We were seated outside downstairs, and there were plenty of things to keep the kids occupied while waiting on the food. The best part was that the kids' food came out first!!! That is a huge thing for parents of young children. After they finished eating, they again played while the adults finished and could easily see the kids playing. “Fourk is a staple in our restaurant rotation in Hickory. However, it had been quite a while since we visited. The service was a little slow to start. We were given water and menus, and then we waited for 15-20 minutes before our appetizer order was taken. We ordered the Buffalo meatballs and the mussels. They arrived at our table quickly, and both were tasty. Our table ordered the Mahi, orzo chicken, and the seafood melange. All three dishes were really good. For dessert, we had the blackberry wine cake (a MUST for anyone visiting Fourk), and the cheesecake of the day. The blackberry wine cake was fantastic. The cheesecake was very good, too. We will visit Fourk again soon if for nothing other than that blackberry wine cake.“

“This place overrated for sure ! The meatloaf is like mushed up fat ! Fried squash was so greasy it squirted across the table when you took a bite , maybe four tablespoons of pintos ! Ordered a side a apple sauce it tasted sour but either way it was 2 49 for two tablespoons ! When I told waitress she took it to the kitchen and apparently the cook or owner had to argue about it ! Even though we were going to exchange for another side instead of asking to take it off ! Anything like a piece of bread was added extra !! “I have been to this place twice the service and food is always excellent. They put a unique Twist on the foods that they serve. They also have a y selection of craft beers on tap and in cans. Definitely recommend trying the pizza, tacos, and onion rings. Heck, try it all they have a great menu.“

“Olde Hickory Tap Room is located in Union Square in Downtown Hickory. I dined here on a Sunday so parking was easy as the area wasn't too busy. When I arrived the host immediately sat me at a booth and didn't try to seat me at the bar which tends to be common places. My waitress was as friendly as could be. I went with the sirloin steak; fries and salad. The sirloin was ok but I usually order another cut of meat that is leaner but that wasn't on the menu here. The salad was larger than expected so I didn't finish the meal but I rarely do. I was given both a to- go box and a tea to go. I almost returned for dinner here later in the week but then wandered around and ended up at their other restaurant at the train station.“

“Group of ladies went to lunch today and enjoyed lunch at Fresh Chef on 127 in Hickory. Food was great and Anna did a great job waiting on us. I especially appreciated her being willing to split a plate between between two of us. She even split the bill! The dessert was a key lime square and the portion was more than I could manage.
