“I am an unapologetic shrimp nerd.… Fried shrimp in particular. Yes, I’m spoiled. I’ve had fried shrimp up and down the eastern seaboard from Maine to the tip of the Florida keys. Perhaps I’m bias, having lived worked and visited the Holden Beach area for the past four decades, and I’ve had my share of both good and bad shrimp. Unfortunately, more of the latter than the prior. Which brings me to The Wharf… The latest incarnation of one of my favorite seafood spots, Betty’s seafood. The simple charm and iconic waterfront setting of the restaurant remains the same. Casually relaxing on the patio watching boats go up and down the intercoastal waterway, particularly at sunset, is mesmerizing. That was always the draw for me… Until tonight. The Wharf has taken a simple staple and executed it to perfection. Excellent shrimp, executed flawlessly in the classic calabash style, left me wanting more. Adding insult to injury, they made me forgo my favorite condiment of all time, good cocktail sauce. In its place is an amazing garlic/Cajun aïoli that is transformative. Add to that the friendly, attentive staff, and you have the makings for a real game changer in the Holden Beach seafood scene, which has seen decline in the past several years. Do yourself a favor and experience this for yourself. I’ll be back for sure“

“They have two gentlemen on their dock to help you tie up. When we finished lunch my power steering hose leaked. Nick the dock worker helped me get back on the water big shout out to Nick at Provisions. The food was great it our go to place from the water.“

“Pour House is a great local spot with something for everyone. They offer trivia, ping pong tournaments, arcade games, pool tables, and a big selection of local beer and cocktails. There’s plenty of seating, a small lounge with more seating upstairs, big screens to watch the games, the bathrooms are clean, and the staff is always friendly. They occasionally have live music, which is a fun bonus. We come here most weekends because the atmosphere is relaxed, there’s always something to do, and it’s just an easy place to hang out with friends. You can also order food from the Fish & Company restaurant next door. 10/10“

“Tucked away in a strip mall with a Food Lion is one of THE BEST restaurant options in the area! Do not waste your time and money going to the other more expensive places. This is the place for a plate full of fresh, flavorful seafood and at a reasonable price too! This is where the locals eat and for good reason! Excellent customer service and a great casual yet colorful atmosphere. The employees are friendly, hard working and they care about their customers. Happy to give them a rave review and I know where I’ll be eating the next time I’m back!“

“I only gave a 4 on service because they were down a waitress and it took quite a while to get waited on. The food was very good and came out quickly after our order was finally taken. I do want to point out that Robbie, the young man that waited on us, was so nice. He didn't normally wait tables but he did an awesome job. I'm sure he doesn't get the appreciation he deserves. I would recommend this restaurant for a reasonably priced meal“

“I must first state I am a extreamly picky person. This was the best food I have had in a long long time. I am a local and feel that not only was our serivce exceptional but the food was on par with several mislin star places in New york that I have eaten. even food i usally dont like like squash i loved here. I will be 100 percent going back and look forward to it being my new spot.“

“Our family had the best meal all week during our vacation at Feast OIB! The owner/chef greeted us at the door and seated us. The wedge salad was delicious with homemade blue cheese dressing. The lobster risotto was wonderful and beautifully presented. The crab legs were super meaty and tender. There are great options for kids too! Amazing, friendly service with a smile. As we were leaving, the owner/chef was cleaning tables and making sure things were running smoothly. We were very impressed! I also love that the menu was clearly labeled with MANY gluten free options.“

“We have had issues finding places we like (a lot of the places around her have been bland). We came from an area where we were pretty spoiled with great restaurants and Wing & Fish has been the only place so far that is comparable. We have been here three times so far and they have been very consistent each time. The food is great, and the staff are friendly and attentive.“
