“Took our daughter here as her choice for her birthday. Our server was kind, welcoming and we appreciated her energy. Area we were seated in was clean. My only complaint was some of my food was overwhelming with "salt". I ordered the salmon dinner. The rice was salty along with my order of asparagus. I had to send them back because I couldn't eat it. This is not to say the food isn't good, just please cut back on the over seasoning. My daughter enjoyed her birthday and we will visit again in the future.“

“Their layout is maximized for seating but it feels cramped no matter where you sit. It's a good business decision to make it so people werent waiting long for open seating, it just takes away from the experience slightly.

Ribs are very good here. Steak wasn't the worst I've had but won't order one again. Overall it was fine“

“Found this gem while searching for a place to eat with my sister during her annual visit from TN. We could not have made a better choice. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. “Absolutely delicious Thanksgiving dinner we ordered! Staff helped me load to my car and it was ready when I arrived. The Turkey was smoked and my whole family loved it. The sides were very delicious as well, a lot better than what you get at the grocery store. I loved the sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce the best. Tastes homemade and absolutely amazing!! “Sweet Lew's did not disappoint. While visiting my BFF, I decided this trip I wanted N.C Barbecue. After searching & comparing reviews we decided to try Sweet Lew's and it did not disappoint. We both had "The Sampler." I'm not a beef eater. Although, I found the brisket a tad bit dry, when drizzled with Sweet Lew's Brisket Sauce it made it enjoyable. The ribs were juicy and cooked to perfection. I tried my friends Red Coleslaw, not knowing what to expect, was the bomb. The meat was dry-rubbed with sides of Barbecue Sauce, which were vinegar base, but not overwhelming so. Overall, we really enjoyed our meals, so much that I purchased a chicken dinner to go for the next day and look forward to returning.“

“I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. Both were delicious. In fact, that was the very best brisket I have ever eaten. It was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy. They were great about accommodating my food allergies. You could tell the Mac and cheese was made from scratch. There were plenty of dipping & bbq sauces to try. The pickles are amazing as well. Chefs kiss!

When we arrived we were seated immediately, even at lunch time without a reservation. However, the service was slow and our waiter seemed a bit out-of-it and inattentive. The decor inside was of a motorcycle shop, which was unique and cool. The place was busy and obviously a popular spot. The restaurant had its own (small) parking lot. Highly recommend this place if you are visiting Charlotte. It's full of Southern charm and delicious bbq.

Not bad but just not as good as the ribs and also my bread was burnt. The tea tasted great though. I think the okra was okay. I am not used to okra fried that way but it was okay. It was extremely hot in the building but I don’t blame them. It was a bit uncomfortable a tad bit. However, it could definitely be outside of their control. Lastly, they seemed so tired and I was a little empathetic for them. Overall, it was decent and I would come back for the ribs for sure.“

“Towne Tavern is our favorite local watering hole! The staff are super friendly and make the place, especially Amanda and Andie. The daily specials and bingo/music bingo give something fun to do. I work from home so getting out of the house for fun and hanging out with the locals is what it’s all about. We’ve been coming to the place for a while and think the food has been so much better under new management. Definitely check it out if you haven’t been!“

The worker in the drive thru, the day I went, "literally" rolled her eyes when I said thank you, have a good day and she pushed her chin out as if to suggest, "leave please"... usually workers are pleasant but in a rush, I guess because they are usually trying to get through the very very long line when they are busy, they're busy!!
