“My first visit to Pittsboro and I probably would never have stumbled across The Plant and Fair Game Beverage Company because they're a bit of a ways from the center of town. But they're a member of an RV hospitality program and I decided that this would be way more interesting than a Cracker Barrel parking lot for an overnight.

And it is. Fair Game distills their own spirits, they have a great selection of beers and they are masters of the charcuterie game. The tasting room is a pleasant little spot with wifi and power which was great for me on my own. But it's a comfy spot if you're meeting up with friends, with tables inside and out. Plus you have access to the other places in The Plant including a Mexican place across the way that looks tremendous.

I stayed in Fair Game, enjoying a local draft beer and then the lovely bartender Desiree mixed a Fair Game Collins for me. A delicious combination of their house-made gin, which she customized for me with less simple syrup so that I could try to stay somewhere close to ketosis.

“I have been coming here since they opened as a member’s only club and I will say it’s by far one of the most consistently great places I have been here in NC. The food is always delicious, the menu is small and curated so every item is really good. One of my favorite items is the little biscuits, fancy ham & truffle cheese. I don’t like ham as a rule but I came here with someone who wanted to try it and I am so glad we did. Now I like ham, just has to be ham at the beagle! The fried chicken is delicious, the meatballs are moist, flavorful and satisfying. No plates are too big so you can order a few things to have a range of flavors. The drinks are always spot on and the service is fast and accommodating. Tonight I stopped in for a burger and it was so good I didn’t even get a pic before I dug in. Perfectly cooked on a potato bun with red onion and cheddar cheese, it’s the backyard burger you wish your dad made. Then I had the raspberry, pistachio & mascarpone cream trifle. I paused long enough to photograph it. Come into this charming spot and feel like a local, order a drink and get some apps, make a friend at the bar or go hide at a table in the back either way you won’t be sorry.“

“We regularly dine at Sycamore, enjoying a nice bottle of wine, bourbon or craft cocktail. One of our favorite seasonal dishes is the Beef Tartar, so good!!! We look forward to the friendly service of our favorite bartenders Tallie and Cory while admiring the beautiful decor.
We stopped by last night forgetting that they were featuring items that will be served at their new Italian restaurant, A Tavalo.
What a wonderful surprise!
We ordered the Duck pasta and a side of broccolini and asparagus. They were both EXCELLENT! All of the food we saw go out to other customers looked incredible.
We are thrilled for the Lewis family and their new venture, serving what we believe will be the best Italian dining experience in Chatham county and this side of the Triangle area.
We will continue to dine at Sycamore and look forward to dining at A Tavalo when it opens. Great job to all of the team that makes our dining experience at Sycamore relaxing and enjoyable. A+“
