“My wife and I had supper here Sep. 5th 2024. The restaurant is simply laid out without much flash to it. The food, on the other hand, was delicious! We started with samosas which were served piping hot and tasted great and came with a very good tamarind chutney and a mint chutney that had a real punch!

I had the chicken curry and my wife had chicken tikka masala. The rice was perfectly cooked and fluffy. My curry wasn't as hot as I'd like it but I'm crazy for heat. The flavor was excellent and the meat was perfectly cooked. My wife's tikka masala was marvelous as well. She got it mild and they served it perfectly.

The garlic naan came absolutely coated in garlic! Marvelous.

For desert we split an order of gulab jabon and the chocolate mosaic cake. The gulab jabon very good. The cake was to die for!!! Absolutely over the top.

We will definitely be dining here again!“

“I ordered the fried marinated mahi tacos. First of all the service was quick and friendly. We were seated promptly and given the menu. It didn't take too long to get our food. The food was very fresh. The fish was piping hot and so was the rice and beans with fresh veggies on the top. The slaw on the tacos was tasty and the queso dip was phenomenal. It wasn't salty at all. The food is quality and the portions are large. I have no complaints. It's an excellent choice if you're ever in OBX.“

“Goombays - we have been eager to try this restaurant as the parking lot is ALWAYS packed... we finally had the pleasure to try this local delight, and boy, were we pleased. We were lucky to be able to get seated right away, greeted by our waiter almost instantly, and our beverages and food came out lightening fast. This restaurant features a nice diverse beer and cocktail menu and an array of food choices. One of the cocktail specials was the Kill Devil Rum pina colada slushie - boy was it good! For lunch we ordered the shrimp and veggie quesedilla, and the fish and chips. Everything arrived piping hot - so hot you had to blow on it before eating it, it was a pleasant surprise. Both meals were very good. The restaurant also had some great dessert options- maybe next time we will give those a try! Will be back, for sure!“

“Easter breakfast was our first time at Henry's. It was by far one of the best breakfast experiences we've had. From the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel like family. Christina couldn't have been more accommodating...making sure everything was to our liking, without being overbearing. And it was the little things that mattered. May sound silly to most, but having syrup on the table for your flapjacks...when ordering hot tea, they bring you a cup of hot water, a tea bag, PLUS a silver container of hot water to place your "used" tea bag in, should you desire another cup of tea. Also, creamer was right on the table. The menu even made sense...build your own omelet.....you pay for what you want! It seemed like all the Employees chipped in. I never saw anyone just standing around. We will certainly be back, and refer folks we know to Henry's. Thank you.“

“Don't drive to Johns Drive in unless you plan on dropping a courier off to order and retrieve your food. There's just little or no parking available which is just the way it's suppose to be. It's a walk off the beach drive in for crying out loud Who pays for a $5+ hot dog? Well, you have to try one to find out and let me tell you, this IS no ordinary hot dog! This thing is huge and simple with a great chili topping on top of a huge split down the middle grilled dog! Worth every penny! I also had a cheese burger which rivals Five Guys except priced more reasonably. The crinkle cut fries were hot and crispy. I sure was happy to see them open on this beautiful fall Saturday!. Can't wait to go back to try other menu items.“

“Last night we arrived at the paper canoe, expecting to be seated at a table for my birthday dinner. We are locals and did not realize that my husband had accidentally booked a table at the bar. The manager not only found us a beautiful window booth, but when our food Was unfortunately delayed she comped our meal. The thing is we were having such a great time. Great conversations with the staff beautiful views amazing appetizers that we didn’t even notice our food was running late :-). I want to take my hat off to the wonderful staff everybody is very professional, especially the amazing Kara the paper canoes manager. What could have turned into a disappointing evening was transformed into an incredibly fun, relaxing romantic meal, which is what we had hoped for. Oh and if you ever have the opportunity to try the beef, Wellington don’t pass it up :-)“

“Tried the Black Pelican for lunch during our November vacation. Nice atmosphere, good service and we loved story behind the name. Food was pretty good. Enjoyed the Hatteras style clam chowder. We didn't try them but the desserts looked wonderful. Also had a gift shop with BP and OBX things. I even found a hot air balloon puzzle box which was amazing!.“

“We wanted to try a new-to-us restaurant, and this time it was Two Roads Tavern. In all honesty, we didn't eat at the restaurant, instead we ordered the food from the bar to take home with us. The restaurant atmosphere was interesting - a mix between a dive bar and someone's home bar. When ordered the BACON MAC N JAP burger. It was a hearty burger with jalapenos and mac and cheese on top, bacon jam on the bottom, and a side of hand cut fries. The burger and fries were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The meal was definitely big enough for two people to share. $16 for a burger - not too bad if you share, if each person needs one, maybe a little high. Overall, don't think the atmosphere is for us, but will return again to order takeout.“

“Visiting from NY this was one of the only places that didn't feel like a tourist trap. Reasonably priced menu with quality to go with it. The staff was amazing! Very well coordinated and quick with everything from drink refills to food service, its was impressive to watch and they were all lovely people Shoutout to Kaitlin (if I spelled it right lol) Very clean restaurant with everything from the condition of the tables and chairs to the cleanliness of the bathrooms. “We ate here on Friday Oct. 20. Bartender was super friendly. Highly recommend the clam chowder, best we've ever had. I had the Grouper special and it great. My wife had the Tuna, was super pleased, cooked perfect and not many places get it right. They did. Chef was great to talk to. She explained a lot as we sat at the bar waiting for our food. Backyard bar was our kind of place. The band had to cancel because of rain but It would have been a great place to see one. Will go back next time we are in Duck. Thanks for a great experience.“

“My wife and I have enjoyed NC Coast, a sister restaurant, for a while and tried Red Sky for the first time this week for our anniversary. We had a worderful meal and experience. They were incredidbly busy and we had a slight wait, even with a reservation, but both the hostess and our server ensured we were taken care of with excellent customer service. The food was fantastic: fresh, flavorful. I had the Fresh Catch, which was salmon oscar paired with a potato risotto. And I was pleased with the size of salmon for the price. I have often found similar places charging similar prices for half the amount. We are so Glad to have found another great place to eat while visiting the OBX.“
