“I have been to movies and shows at the Flat Rock Cinema. Every time I have been there, the staff is professional, courteous, and fun. They have made a positive impression each time. I have felt welcome and appreciated. The facility is clean and well maintained. The menu has a good selection of items available. A favorite is their popcorn. They have a program going right now where guests can purchase a “Silver Ticket” and it allows the holder to get “free popcorn”. I don’t remember all the details, but it is worth asking them about. I have also had the privilege of performing at the Flat Rock Cinema with The Improvables. The Flat Rock Cinema is celebrating 20!years here in 2026..! Happy Anniversary..!! If you are looking for a great place to watch movies, have a party, see a live concert or a comedy show, based on my positive experiences, I highly recommend…!!“

“Update: I went back for a croissant and an iced mocha. Both were amazing. The croissant is so much better than the store bought ones and the coffee was pretty good as well.

“We’re local and honestly do not go out much. Service has declined and it hasnt been worth it. Our last few experiences at our Flat Rock Waffle House have left much to be desired. Once a regular stop, we have avoided the location on Upward Road. Tonight a random craving for a chicken sandwich and hashbrowns hit me. My husband and I decided to drop in. Im so happy we did. This was the most enjoyable dining experience we have had in a while. Our server Tasha was absolutely amazing. She was welcoming, attentive and made it look easy. She is an asset to this location. And our cook, Dakota, top tier. Food was awesome. Hashbrowns were perfect. Thank you guys! We will see u soon!!!!!“

We then headed for the St. Paul Vineyards, only to find that they were fairly crowded, and that we'd previously visited there on an Asheville trip four years earlier. As we were driving out, I realized that we were only minutes away from Sonic happy hour, and an iced tea sounded like something I could get charged up about. Maria began looking for one on her phone, but something about the surrounding terrain seemed familiar, and I told her I sensed a Sonic close by. As expected, one appeared as we crested a hill, and it was the same one we'd had lunch at four years earlier. Burgers and iced tea were very good. Servers on roller skates continue to astound me. I have an aversion to body casts.“
