“We were greeted warmly at the door, and our server was extremely gracious and provided wine samples to help us choose the right bottle. The raw oysters were fresh and bright, the Big Bowl of Greens was a terrific salad to share. The NC Trout and Pork Schnitzel entrees were flawless. We shared a Black Forest Cake for dessert. In summary, it was a perfect dining experience.“
“Some friends had recommended we try Huli Sue’s while in Asheville. This place is a must-visit! Great vibes, delicious food and unique flavours. The mochiko chicken sandwich, the nachos, and the BBQ (especially the ribs) were all awesome. We also grabbed a brownie to go. Will definitely be back next time we are in Asheville.“
“We found this little gem by chance and were not disappointed. Great atmosphere, kid friendly (albeit its an adult place). We sat at a small corner table by the bar. We enjoyed some sharable plates, great wines, mocktails for the kids, excellent wines and my wife a great Vesper made by Luci (the bartender). But the cherry on top was the fact that she made a perfect Irish Coffee - a simple drink, but buttered by 99% of the bar tenders. We will be back.“
“Visited this amazing place for the first time tonight and it was amazing. I’ve been a baker for almost 20 years and I’ve never tasted a banana pudding like this before. The custard like pudding with the hint of cinnamon, made my tongue do a happy dance. I’ll definitely recommend this place to all my foodies. Thanks for such a great experience!“
“Fantastic food, probably the favorite dinner spot of our whole Asheville trip! Drinks are nice, I enjoyed my spicy Paloma (although it isn't really a Paloma). Brisket mac and cheese is excellent! Wings were amazing! Bison meatloaf got a good review.I finished with a chocolate cake and it was delicious, absolutely massive.Vibes inside are great, very chill tavern like. Good spot to watch sports.“
“Feb 26, 2024Cathy Reynolds WinklerVery interesting food and diverse menu offerings - fresh ingredients and layered flavors.Great chill, boho vibe and super nice people. Live in Greenville but our go to place whenever we visit Asheville. Love to bring friends & family. They're always impressed with the delicious dining experience...“
“Amazing restaurant with the best food. Creative and so well executed. Awesome, welcoming staff. Truly a wonderful dining experience which I highly recommend. I had rhe House Fettuccine, which was one of rhe best entrees I've had in a long time.“
“Good restaurant, atmosphere was nice and very easy to park. I'd stick to the small plates if I went back, nice to share with others and you get a good sampling of what they have to offer. The cocktails were good and the food was pretty well prepared. Ingredient quality seemed to be so-so, but that's been the case with a lot of restaurants in Asheville lately. Not top-notch, but not bad either.“
“One of my favorite brunch spots. I love the eclectic funky decor. I usually get the Opa Platter with Spanakopita and Greek Salad. I also like the Breakfast Burrito and the Hash. They have really good Bloody Mary’s and Mimosa's as well. There is over flow parking in a lot next to the Restaurant. The food and service is consistently above par.“
“Many nice touches to reasonably priced and well made dishes. The wait staff was attentive, but not too. The scallops were the star. Not to quibble, but sauteed mushrooms are not roasted. The pork was a bit too done, but in all a satisfying meal.“
“We live here in Weaverville. We love to dine out and visit many good restaurants in the greater Asheville area. We are quite proud of our local fine dining restaurant, Glass Onion, here in our small town. The front of the house is very well run. The staff are all professional - just the right level of attentiveness, but also natural and personal. Teenagers are great in some settings, but here, you appreciate their absence. Not only the chef but the wait staff have real experience in this business. They have a sense of flavors when providing cocktails, wine, and food. Many have worked there for years. The martinis are the best in Asheville, and the food is wonderful whether you order seafood, steak, or pasta. Lovely people, lovely provisions.“
“OMG!! Hands down this place was soooo good. I ate last night after a concert at The Orange Peel. Got there at about 11:45pm and was not disappointed at all. The food was fantastic! I had the BBQ sliders and shared the piled high fries and pimento cheese dish with my husband. I would recommend to anyone out late looking for good food late. Next time I come back I will be back for more. Our service was great as well.“
“Our waiter was Cory and Lee was his assistant. The service was exceptional. The views were amazing. My husband had the pork chop and I had the filet. We had crab cake and scallops for appetizers. The vanilla honey creme brulee was wonderful. Everything was perfect. Will dine here again.“
“I really wish that I could give Tall John's more than 5 stars because it's perfect. The menu is American classics done with skill and attention to detail. We've been twice in one week and every single dish is delicious. The tartare comes with crackers that have been lovingly fried and aren't the least big greasy as well as a whole pile of fresh soft herbs and the pan sauce from the roast chicken is good enough to drink. We are extremely particular about cocktails and these have clearly been meticulously fine tuned. They come ice cold in chilled glasses and it is deeply satisfying. I think you can always tell when staff like working at a restaurant and the staff seems relaxed and happy. Service is just as good as the food. I described a salad I'd seen someone eating on a previous visit to our server and he said he was pretty sure it was the "very good green salad." After he brought it and I'd had some he said "is that the salad you dreamed of?" We wish service would be like this everywhere and all these details will keep us coming back again and again.“
“I was looking for fish and chips for St. Patrick’s Day, and came across a local Facebook group post highly recommending Griff’s. I live close to here and have been wanting to try them for a while, and I’m glad I finally did! I will most definitely will be back! Nice, quiet, clean restaurant with pleasant lighting and comfortable atmosphere. The fish was some of the best I’ve ever had: super soft, moist, and flaky, light crunchy batter, great flavor, truly cooked perfectly! The fries were also good, hot, crispy yet soft, seasoned with course sea salt - very good. All made to order, hot, and very fresh tasting. The house made tartar sauce was excellent too. I also had a cup of soup: today it was a potato leak soup and it was very good, great flavor. They are a little expensive, but I feel they are fairly priced for the quality of what I received. Also I should mention that they are a much nicer upscale restaurant. It is always worth paying a little extra for great food and service, and you get exactly that at Griff’s!! I highly recommend them and am looking forward to trying some of the other items on their menu, of course that’s if I can pass up ordering the fish and chips again! I should mention that the fish and chips are not listed on the online menu, but it is on the menu in house - see pictures for current menu information.“
“Overall a wonderful evening sampling Posana. There’s so much temptation here, from the starters to main course to dessert. It left us wanting to come back and try more. For starters we’d highly recommend the Brussels sprouts. For a main course, the trout was amazing. And for dessert, the lemon tart outstanding. The menu is so varied, that we may very well stick to starters and sides next time, and skip the main course - though I think we’d miss the trout. As they say, so many good choices and not enough time. We’ll certainly be back!“
“Atmosphere is cute and cozy. They have chill music playing. All types of people come in here which is nice to see! Seems to be a local favorite spot. The lavender latte and cappuccino were both great. We tried one of the chocolate croissants which they make in house. It is one of the best ones I've had that I haven't made myself. It had awesome texture and was a delight to dip into perfect latte foam. The food is good. It's all fresh and nutritious. I appreciate the thought that went into creating the menu and dishes. It is a few steps above regular "diner food" or your average cafe food.“
“Our first time eating here. Very nice dine in experience. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. Also have the option to dine outdoors. Food is very good and there's a wide selection. From sandwiches to pasta and pizza. Very reasonable prices. Range from $10-$20. There was three of us and it was around $54.00. I thought this to be a great deal .. Most definitely a place I would go to again and would recommend to anyone.“
“This place is just like coming home to Granny's. Comfort food at its comfiest. The waitresses are kind and accommodating. The tables and floor are clean, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. I wish I could go every morning to start my day.“
“This is the best restaurant in Asheville. The staff is beyond knowledgeable about the entire menu. Read that again. The staff is beyond knowledgeable about the ENTIRE menu. The food is always great. The servers are second to none. Ralph and Tony are engaged and a testament to a time gone by in regard to how owners interact and are among their patrons. Ralph has forgotten more about wines than most of us will ever know. I cannot stress enough how great this place is. Whenever someone comes to visit- I tell them to go to Avenue M.“
“Absolutely fantastic place to eat. Each meal is incredibly flavorful, and the ambiance is pleasantly quirky. It is incredibly busy for a good reason, but the staff work efficiently to get you through the line. This is a must if you're in the Asheville area.“
“Don't miss this place while in Weaverville. First off, it's small, has beautiful artwork on the walls and very clean. The service is very good with friendly staff. I had the Bistro Burger and Fries, my wife had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with grilled Zucchini. Both of them were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The burger is huge, see photo. In my years of looking for the best of the best burgers, this was it.“
“This is the #1 spot to brunch in Asheville!! I've come multiple times and had an amazing experience every time. They will accommodate groups and dogs :) The wait can be brutal - I recommend snacking before putting yourself on the waitlist (wait time can be over an hour). They do provide coffees and drink service while you wait. They're also very willing to make changes and substitutes. The fried green tomatoes with goat cheese is always a hit!“
“Interesting little spot in West Asheville. Smash burgers and fires were hot of the grill and very filling.Josh was both bartender and waiter but was very attentive.Parking: The parking lot is small, so we can see having to find a spot up the street and walk down.“
“We had the very BEST experience with not only the food being delicious, but the staff was exceptional. Very kind, patient and thoughtful! We visited with our kids and they gave us coloring books for the kids, endless coffee and the darling cook made a heart shaped pancake for my son. Will def recommend and be back many times!“
“Solid, tasty brunch. I had the bagel and lox- it’s a perfectly sized portion, with plenty of salmon and roe- and the cream cheese is delicious! I got the Bloody Mary, which was good- the pork rind was a nice addition. My only disappointment was the cinnamon roll my friend ordered and shared. I was eager to try it since it’s famous in town, but it was completely stale. No effort had been made to even re-warm it, and it was hard. I will say that she enjoyed it that way; but being a pastry chef myself, I would never serve a cinnamon roll like that. I hope to try a fresh one and will update my review if I do.Over all, it was a nice experience and I’m looking forward to trying other menu items next time I brunch there.“
“Real good burgers with interesting sides like collards, kale slaw, deviled eggs, corn puffs. They have salads. They seem to like their fries but just ok. I wanted onion rings and they were out. They have canned soda, beers and some beers on tap. Picnictable-like seating.“
“Urban Orchard just released their 'spicy' line for Halloween. In general, it's excellent, starting at mild (2.5k Scoville) and going up to hot (250k Scoville). Then they have one that is 2.2 Million Scoville. My lips hurt just from sipping it. It makes me light-headed, and that is not from the alcohol. It's like drinking a bottle of the hottest hot sauce you can imagine. I can barely taste the cider over the scorpion pepper flavor. In other words, I have found my happy place.“
“After trying to order a pizza from the new place where we were told it would be 11/2 for a pie- we went to SSF. One of the first magical spring evenings, we dined in on the picnic tables. The food is always so good and fresh! If you have not been here you are overdue!!Owners are really great and accommodating! So many tasty treats….my favorite is the crunch wrap! With lime dressing…Sweet Southern Funk…?“
“This place was great! We had a very fancy dinner on our weekend trip and they served us so little food we were still hungry after. We stopped here on a whim and shared the cuban cowboy sandwich. On the recommendation of our server, we had the pasta salad. Both were delicious! The brisket and pork were so juicy. The service was quick and helpful. The place had a cool vibe and we very much enjoyed our experience. We would definitely come back.“
“We had a wonderful experience. We were lucky to get Grace as our server. We go every year on our travels back home.We went expecting our favourite tapas to discover a new menu. Our disappointment disappeared when we tasted our food.Innovative.Great mouth feel.Interesting flavours. We had 2 dips, eggplant and red pepper. Lots of fresh grilled pita. Plus a very tasty red fish.Exceeded all very high expectations.“
“My wife and I tried HomeGrown today for our first time. We have been to their other restaurant, Home Ground, many times and figured it was time for a try. The staff was pleasant, the food was delicious and the place has a very chill vibe. We will certainly be back. Cheers!“
“Perfect spot for a low key solo outing. I came here on Saturday night in the mood for a good cocktail somewhere new. It's in the heart of downtown, right across from the dueling piano bar and was about a mile from the hotel where I stayed. I found some street parking a block away. Luckily it was relatively warm so I didn't mind the walk over. Sovereign is dark but inviting and was pretty crowded as expected on a Saturday but I sat at the lounge/sofa area right up front and enjoyed my beverage while finishing up my most recent book. They have a bunch of great classic options as well as some creative offerings as well as standard beer and wine picks. I opted for the Now We Dance (tequila, triple sec, coconut milk, rosemary syrup, lime, smoked salt rim) and it did not disappoint. My server was nice and friendly and checked in on my a couple times before I was ready to close out. I was tempted to try the wine port, but I ended up checking out another spot instead. It’s pricey but worth every penny for the experience and flavor! I will definitely come back here though - they have a food menu too and a Sunday brunch that I would love to try next time.“
“Great coffee, pastries and to-go snacks. This was an awesome addition to Leicester but like some newer spots they aren't that busy yet. Support local! I really think the owners need to invest in better signs out front to draw in customers.“
“The view was beautiful and it was sunset. The ambience was very warm and everyone was attentive but not intrusive. Our waiter Ben was exceptional and took excellent care of our table. The food was heavenly, we had the Sea Bass and the Lobster Pasta. Everything was excellent!“
“Everything was perfect as usual , except the fried okra. It had alot of hard stick like places in it. Couldn't chew it or swallow it. It was like eating tree bark shavings. But like I said everything else was 5 stars as usual. One of our favorite places to eat.“
“Excellent. Brought my wife to this unassuming gem years ago for a date night ans we had a blast. They had frog legs and other adventurous delectables then and now that our kids are 8 and 5, I like to expose them to exciting food and restaurants from time to time, so we brought them. Sometimes kids at nice restaurants are unwelcome, so I scheduled earlier in night for the patio (6pm). We showed up 10 minutes early but we were met with smiles and and open table. Beware, there is no "kids menu" here, nor child beverages. However, our waitress was very kind an whipped up some Shirley Temples for them to sip on to feel fancy. The food was amazing, we started with the cheese board and olives - gouda & bleu with crostinis, toasted nuts, and a gooseberry jam - castelvetrano olives in a citrus marinade with blood orange segments and zest. They were great together and the kids enjoyed both - although much to the parents satisfaction, they shied away from the bleu. Next we had the head cheese, oyster mushrooms and pork belly as well. The head cheese is exactly what you would expect (if you go for that sort of thing), a little fatty, but when smeared on the bready toast points it's quite good - only wish we had more bread as it's too rich by itself, but we had more food. The pork belly was the most composed dish, well browned and juicy towers of pork on a pool of nutty/earthy sauce with crumbles of Rye. My kids don't like mushrooms, but I always make them try it again when we go somewhere new, this time was a miss for them but a HUGE hit for me. Brown butter and hazelnuts gave them a crunch and a coating of glaze that left them AND my taste buds dripping. Finally we shared the gnocchi - I had to explain what they were and how they were made to my kids so they could appreciate the dish. Fantastic pillowy bites of goodness with ramp green pesto, tetragonia and parmesan. By far the favorite of the night by all parties. We finished with the whiskey orange chocolate cake and a semifreddo sundae. All of this in about an hour with great service and hospitality in between. Well done on all fronts and one of the best Asheville has to offer.Kid-friendliness: Brought our kids Shirley Temples when they found out there wasn't much else for them. Friendly and engaging, as we as patient with them when ordering.“
“This is our favorite pub when we are in the Asheville area. Great selection of local brews, particuarly Green Man, good food, and great live music. The atmosphere is exactly what you might expect in a small pub in Ireland. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and helpful.“
“This is a real Americana experiences that are so unique!Waitresses are so cute and fun! “ Sit anywhere honey “Breakfast is my favorite here- coffee is good and strong, biscuits flaky and warm…We come once or twice a month and we often see familiar faces… Everyone say good morning or nods! Its like stepping back in time…“
“dinner for 2. easy to get to if staying at the Grove Park Inn. Bread service was excellent, the has pasta and enjoyed, I ordered a hamburger med-rare, came out med-well but they swiftly replaced it and gave us some credit on the bill. Interesting wines at good prices and some interesting dishes. check it out!“
“Holy moly. What a fantastic experience. I was traveling on business and I popped into this place for a late lunch/early dinner and a couple of cocktails. First of all, the service was amazing. I guess I came around shift change bc I had two amazing bartenders. Rachel was my first bartender and what a gem. Such a beautiful and bubbly spirit that makes you feel so special. She was super funny and ridiculously gorgeous. Next up was Tara. She was so attentive and made sure I was always good with my drinks and food. Not to mention she’s extremely easy on the eyes. Sheeeesh. Both ladies were so cool and efficient. You can tell these women have been bartending for years. All the regulars loved them so much.Second of all, the food was to die for!!! I got the Vault burger and I give it 5 stars.Lastly, the vibes are perfect. Atmosphere and music and people were all on point. Love this place!!!!“
“The Salvage Station is easily the best music venue in Asheville. Every month I end up seeing a show here because they continuously provide an amazing experience and host amazing musicians. The grounds are organized in a way to make getting drinks, food , or a restroom break an absolute breeze. Whether inside or outside I always have a great time here.Thank you Salvage Station and see you soon!“
“Nice gem of a bar, at the base of Lexington Ave. in Asheville. Ample parking across the street. Has great music ?. Great bartender, too. Cool place to socialize. Has an outdoor patio area in front for smokers with a big open front window so you can hear music outside.“
“This place rips. Had the red beans n' rice + boudin balls and it was one of the best meals I've had in town all year. Everything was super flavorful and authentic tasting. 1 million percent going back and trying everything else - pumped to have some legit cajun food in town!“
“Nice spot! Our waiter Nick was friendly and on the job. The bread and honey butter were a nice starter and we ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. They looked delicious! Unfortunately, looks can be deceiving. They had a nice crunch, but there was quite an unfortunate lack of seasoning. I had the Super Burger and it was on point! Great flavor and I like the variety of texture that the fried onion rings brought to the table (no pun intended). Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food, so if I could give a 4.5/5 I would. I'll definitely be coming back!Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible“
“Blackened buffalo chicken sandwich was very good. I deducted one point because the order was not correct and had to be replaced , but when that was corrected , the food was quite good. Service friendly and efficient. Atmosphere nothing special but that doesn’t mean it was bad… just kinda Ok…“
“We had an amazing anniversary dinner last month, and I think a main reason for that was our waitress Celestial - she did everything to make sure we had a terrific time. Our food was great and the service (thanks to her) was tremendous! The fondue was out of this world as well! We’ll definitely be back soon :)“
“Five stars for what it is, a burger place. Our family of four went on an extremely busy Sunday. We were told the way it would be about 45 minutes it ended up being about 25. Our server was very attentive and friendly even though he was running like crazy. I've been here multiple times and the food is always delicious and hot, this time was no different!“
“This place was recommended to us and it didn't disappoint. We started off with queso fries and the super queso fries, both very good. We ordered their big cheese burgers, which were all cooked just as we asked, medium- rare on a gluten-free bun , medium, and medium well. And the youngest had their chicken nuggets and fries. The fries were fresh, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside.Everyone had the same expression after eating. THAT WAS GOOD!Our waiter was very attentive. He made sure we had what we needed. Overall, it is a very cool and chill atmosphere to have some good food.“
“Stepping into this restaurant was like discovering a culinary haven with a side of warmth. The casual ambiance made me instantly comfortable, and the delicious food and drinks sealed the deal. It wasn't just a meal; it felt like a gathering of friends, and the staff made sure we felt like part of their extended family. I'm already making plans to revisit on my next trip to town, eager to relive the easygoing charm and enjoy another round of their delightful offerings.“
