“Arriving we were met with friendly smiling hosts. We were offered inside or out but decided we didn’t need to wait for out when we could sit in the lounge which was basically open air (the wall opens onto the deck). Beautiful view of the river and tugs. Our waitress Mikayla (sp?) was super sweet and attentive. We never waited for a drink refill or to order more food. She was knowledgeable about the menu both food and drink. The food was amazing. Highly recommend the fish and chips and we ate our weight in oysters. Ten out of ten recommend ✌🏻❤️“

“Jill is the best!! Never fire her!! And make sure she gets a rise!! Jill was our server and she was amazing!! The food was GREAT, I got the fisherman’s platter and shared it with my friend and it was still enough for a meal!! If you are ever in Portsmouth you had better come here!! Without Surf Portsmouth New Hampshire couldn’t survive!! Also, it’s smart to get a reservation before going!! We came off the road and they still got us in under 5 minutes!“

“oh wow... what a find! We were looking for a seafood restaurant when passing thru the area and the name caught our attention. We had an amazing dinner! We both chose the seafood fettuccine, which was heavenly - incredible pasta and sauce topped with succulent seafood. Desserts were lavender creme brulee and white chocolate cake...Holy cow! Dinner and service were both top-notch.. and we can't wait to return!“

“Wonderful old-school, Old-Maine place - "Lobsters in the Rough" like we used to have. Ambience - totally relaxed, right on the water. Food - Menu has good variety, the lobsters come in daily, cooked just right. The view across the river to Portsmouth is like no other, plus the river traffic and bridge openings, lobster boats, big ships, tugs, you name it. River breezes tend to keep things a little cooler. I'll be back.“

“Dockside is one of my favorite wedding venues to photograph! I've shot many weddings there and I've loved every one of them. The staff is top notch, the grounds are beautiful, and view is unmatched, and during your reception you'll probably be visited by a nosy great blue heron. He's popped up at most of the weddings I've shot there. There are so many wedding venues in Southern Maine, you probably can't do any better than Dockside.“

“Just a quick note from someone who never writes reviews. Sitting at The Beach Plum with my three kiddos and so impressed and grateful for the wonderful service we’ve received here. We had a tiny issue with one meal which was immediately acknowledged and fixed tenfold. Two members of the team checked on us several times after to make sure we were doing okay and then sent us home with an extra meal for later on the house. My kids learned a great lesson on wonderful and kind customer service and The Beach Plum will continue to be a favorite spot for us! Thank you!!“

“We looked at a lot of different restaurant options for dinner. I’m so glad we decided on Old Ferry Landing!!!! The food was fantastic!!! Drinks were summery and unique 🧉🍹 The lobster bisque was the best I’ve ever had!!!! And there was a great amount of lobster meat in it. I tried a bite of my boyfriend’s clam chowder as well which was also delicious but the bisque was 🤤😍 We will definitely be back!!!! Our waitress was very attentive and so sweet!!! “Chauncey Creek is always excellent. Now that I live outside the US, I make sure to schedule my visits during the open season. The food (steamers and lobsters) was perfectly prepared and delicious. Even the sides (coleslaw, corn on the cob and onion rings) were amazing. The setting on Chauncey Creek, with a view toward Portsmouth Harbor really adds to to the ambience. And the stars are all super welcoming, efficient and friendly. This is our go-to destination for exceptional seafood in a classic, rustic setting.“

“great location, great views but wasn't impressed with the food. I had a 3 ounce lobster roll for $20+, they wanted $55 for a 6 ounce.😱 there was more roll then lobster and the roll was over toasted. The Cole slaw was right out of a bag and blah. The only good part was the blueberry margarita, but I think I overheard the employee say it was only 5%. They didn't offer whole lobster.🫤 Go for the view, maybe order a burger or hot dog.“

“Fox's Lobster House 9-6-25 We had to stop by this Lobster house for the Lobster. The lady that greeted us at the front was very friendly and answered any questions we had about this place as it was our first time there. She stated you want to sit upstairs as the views were much better. The views from upstairs were spectacular with the Ocean and Lighthouse in the background just amazing. They do have an outside Patio for dining which is rather large with shading for all to enjoy that kind of atmosphere. Now let's get to the food. I ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder, and my wife ordered a cup of Lobster Bisque for appitizers. We both ordered the Fox's Favorite Lighthouse Dinner which had 1.5-pound Lobster, Corn on the Cob with Baked Potato. Our soup came out first, it was hot and very tasty, mine was packed with clams. This had to be the best New England Clam Chowder I ever had. In fact, it was so good I did not want to share it with my lovely wife. She stated her Lobster Bisque was fantastic also. The Corn on the Cob and Baked Potato was also good, but the star of the dinner was the Soup and Lobster. Everything was hot, tasty and with the great service provided by Stella we just loved this place, and my bet is you will also. You must stop by here not only for a great dinner but the spectacular views and a visit to the Lighthouse right next door. “Great view when sitting outside. The food was tasty but not to die for. My fries had good seasoning, but they were a tad cold. The crab cake sandwich had bacon on it and a great texture. Also, the waitress was friendly and prompt at serving us.“

“I have been eating there for years. I went the other night because I was craving scallops. I got my usual scallops and tried to substitute o-rings for fries. The girl told me it wasn't allowed. No substitutions. I was willing to pay for the upgrade. No go. I live in the area and there are a lot of other options which I'll be trying.“

“From the start I felt I was walking into a dream. Beautiful and unexpected decor. Stylish, Upscale, Modern. Not what I'm familiar with in most Asian restaurants. Enchanting and romantic.

As they say, 'you eat with your eyes first', and right off the bat, my eyes were telling me we were about to dive into something flavorful, delicious and satifying.
The Pho noodle bowl with shrimp was steaming and presented with a side of garnishes; basil, mint, jalapeno, bean sprouts, lime wedges and a little dish of the best house made hot sriracha. Wow! Packed a flavor-filled punch. We used every bit of it. (Will take tums later).
The grilled lemongrass chicken thighs were juicy and so, so good. Excellent alongside a perfect bowl of garlic ftied rice.

The servers were so friendly and helpful when we asked questions about origins of some of the dishes.

If I lived anywhere near this place it would be a frequent dining choice.
Or even to come for cocktails. The bar is stunning. We had a 3 hour drive to home ahead of us so we couldn't induge. But, if they put as much care into making a good drink as they do into everything else, I'm certain it's worth a visit to just relax and enjoy a drink while sitting at the gorgeous bar.

I hope we travel this way again soon. Will be a top choice on my list of dining places to enjoy.“
