“I love Italian ices and although I prefer CJ’s Ices in Bayonne, NJ, my boyfriend and I decided to stop at the Rita’s on Broad Street in Bloomfield yesterday.He got a pint-sized cotton candy and I got a large Swedish fish/cotton candy mixed. Absolutely delicious & refreshing, though I notice Rita’s ices melt considerably quicker than CJ’s & Ralph’s in Staten Island.The service is quick & efficient though the girls who work there tend to have a habit of slamming the window in your face once the transaction is completed, not giving the customer an opportunity to say “thank you.”One cool thing about this specific Rita’s is Holsten’s across the street, where the final scene of the last episode of the Sopranos was filmed. Have a bite there if you’re in the mood for possible cardiac arrest. ?“

“This place is an experience! We've been coming here as a family since the 1960s and now it's just tradition. Long before the Sopranos filmed here we were enjoying homemade ice cream, burgers, grilled cheeses, and turkey sandwiches. This is old-school, old vibes, but good food. The service has never been stellar but they do try. If you're in the neighborhood I highly recommend coming. Parking is on the street.“

“I was visiting the store. The store manager Kadia was so nice so patient. She showed me all chocolate and explained the ingredients and taste. It was a very happy shopping experience. I liked the chocolate, liked the store and the nice lady Kadia. Definitely coming back again!“

I would order these again in a heartbeat- Pistachio Waffle Stick (4/5)The pistachio topping, pistachio butter, and white chocolate drizzle made for a highly memorable combination of toppings. I would like to bottle up the pistachio butter they use. For takeout, the waffle did get soggy - somewhat like the bottom of an ice cream cone, and somewhat like choux pastry that's been sotting around. I prefer a fresh, crispy waffle component but this is the price you pay for takeout vs dining in store and having it fresh. Besides the waffle itself. This was a 5/5.“
“My family and I love love love Kubo. Since they opened, we def try to come here any time were in the area. My fave fave fave is the Ube Soft Serve with Taiyaki and boba. Their soft serve is just so creamy and flavorful. I haven't tried everything on their menu yet, but I def plan to. A huge cookie. $5… average price for this day and age (but it’s also a decent size cookie).A secret tip: towards the end of the night, they’ll obviously start running low on stock. So either try going earlier, or order ahead. I say a secret tip because my husband and I ordered ahead. (The first time we went, they did not have any fancier flavors left; so we just ended up leaving.) This time, we were smarter and ordered ahead and also were able to get to the location around 9:30 pm. (Compared to the 10:30 first time).“

“Very cute spot and very lively! The service was VERY fast and well organized. It truly is chocolate heaven inside. The menu is extensive and they have many create your own options. “Came here with my family and this was such a cute and tidy cafe. This cafe had a very homey feel to it and the workers were so welcoming. We had the BLT toast, curried chicken toast, empanadas (argentine beef, chicken chipotle and ham&cheese), drinks and ice cream. Why not offer the same mini size for gelato at the same price as the ice cream option??I had to throw out some gelato because I couldn’t finish it and it would’ve melted by the time we got home.“

She was working alone and yet never stressed, lost her cool and worked tirelessly until everyone had their ice cream in hand. “Always such a delight to eat at Friendly’s considering how many they closed up. Never go wrong with a Patty Melt( it was taken off the menu for a while but happy to see it back) , a fishamajig melt, or a BBQ tenders melt. Then to finish off with a sundae with the best peanut butter sauce . Our server Harvey is always the greatest . We only visit a few times a year but always remembers us and greets us with such enthusiasm. Highly recommended !“

Do to covid restrictions they still have in place you cant watch them make the ice cream like you used to but you can see the "magic" from a distance. Place looks clean. Only thing is thats a minor inconvenience is the tenants upstairs have ACs that drip directly in front of the door way.“
“Great gelato flavors, great ice-cream and Italian ice. Classic flavors. However; I’m specifically here to rave about the cream puffs. They make the best cream puffs I have ever tasted. The fillings are absolutely amazing, fluffy. They are light and refreshing; and addicting. Highly recommend the pistachio flavor. I constantly crave these cream puffs, I go out of my way to get them, and send other people to get them for me. Great service as well, always very welcoming.“

“I selfishly want to keep this place a little secret, but I know it's not right to do and so I must share my thoughts and quick review so that you may enjoy it too. My go-to coffee is usually black and nothing else. Instead I opted to try their "Hot Chai latte"and a choice of oat milk, half/half and milk and other options. I went with the half/half and It was absolutely delicious. Groundwork's Cafe is just the perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself with their many food and drink options. The energy and vibe is exactly what I like to surround myself in. The cafe is extremely clean all around!!!! The staff members are beyond friendly and welcoming. There's off street meter parking and town meter parking lots within a short walking distance. What I ordered: Hot chai latte Chicken Colombian empanadas A small cup of Tomato Soup I LOVED IT ALL! My NEW FAVORITE PLACE and I'm looking forward to going back.“

“They are so much more than your average icecream shop, not only do they have bubble tea (which isn't always easy to come by) they have delicious and unique flavors of rolled icecream they prepare fresh. You can tell how much they care about what they are preparing, if the fruit for something they have isn't ripe yet, though they might have the fruit, they let you know so you're not just eating any bland fruits. And they have constantly been trying new flavors and creations of this delicious rolled ice cream. They prepare it right there in front of you. The icecream isn't the only thing making this place amazing, but also the huge variety of bubble tea flavors. Even with different types of boba, and they even have the new craze of the cheese foam varieties! There are some place that make bubble tea really watery or just plain gross, but this place makes it the best I've ever had. I didn't even use to have the tapioca boba pearls untill I had it here, its just so fresh, sometimes it is even still warm in my drink because they are constantly making new fresh batches. They even started serving Acai bowls, which also taste incredible here. I highly recommend this place, it is honestly the best newest thing to happen to Kearny.“
“If you've never tried a mochimoly, try one. I don't think I'll eat another donut after eating one of these. It's a cross between a traditional donut and a rice cake but better. Its first a crunch than light like rice. They come in different flavors. The flavoring is in the icing. I got mango and caramel. The Carmel was excellent. The mango was good but not my favorite. The woman in the store was very polite. They also have mochi ice cream and Korean hotdogs. I didn't try either. I will be back and suggest you try it too. They have two other locations. The place was very clean.“

“This is a good neighborhood ice cream shop with a bunch of unique flavors. I went with honey lavender and an almond ice cream with caramel swirls. The ice creams were way sweet for my palate but I did enjoy the flavors. Unfortunately they are not giving out samples. They give samples too. There is only outside seating and sometimes there's a little mess there, so we try to always clean up after ourselves.
