Since I’ve moved to JC (which I know is only across the river, but the food scene really is different), I have yet to find my go-to halal spot… until now! I paid $10 for a chicken over rice. “Mr. Falafel on Halsey Street is absolutely phenomenal. The food is fresh, flavorful, and truly delicious every single time. The falafel is crispy, the portions are generous, and the service is wonderful. The staff are kind, welcoming, and make the whole experience even better. A tremendous spot in Newark and an easy 5 stars.“

“I never considered Persian food beyond kebobs, but this place makes food taste magical! Even the most basic of dishes, their Nageen Salad, was unforgettable. I live about a 10 hour drive away, but am wondering how I can fit a side trip here next time I'm visiting the tri-state area. Truly worth going out of your way for.“

“It was a wonderful experience trying Lebanese cuisine for the first time. I love everything my daughter-in-law ordered. My favorite was the Old City Platter. I got to try different things. The hummus plate was awesom❤️🩹“
