We were a group of 10 from NH looking for a place for dinner before the show. Max raved about the food at the Millburn Standard and recommended we go there. The staff was friendly, very accommodating to our large party (we did call for reservations, but they don’t take them) and the food was excellent (get the nachos!) “We had the pleasure of trying the new menu at The Alchemist Lounge, and it’s safe to say that Chef Joe has completely elevated the experience. You can immediately tell that you’re experiencing the work of someone who has spent years mastering his craft.

Chef Joe didn’t just add a few new dishes — he designed an entirely new menu from the ground up, and the creativity, attention to detail, and execution really shine through. We tried several different dishes, and every single one felt thoughtfully created and beautifully executed. There was a clear balance of flavor, texture, presentation, and creativity in everything we tasted.

What impressed me most is that the food doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard to be fancy. It’s simply really, really good food made by someone who understands his craft. Every bite felt intentional, and you can taste the experience behind it.

And the experience didn’t stop with the food. We also had some fantastic cocktails that paired perfectly with the atmosphere and the meal. Everything came together to make the entire night feel like a genuinely memorable dining experience.

It’s honestly refreshing to see a chef bring this level of passion and expertise to a restaurant. Chef Joe has something special here, and if this new menu is any indication of what’s to come, The Alchemist Lounge is going to be a serious destination for food lovers. Our server, Valeria, was very attentive, answered all our questions, and even gave us recommendations based on what we were in the mood for. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share: sushi, ramen, boba, shrimp tempura, wings, and yakitori. Everything was delicious, and the portions were good. We were relieved when they announced they were opening up in a much more appropriate and highly upgraded venue. This was perfect timing for us to celebrate our 9 year anniversary here. Upon arriving the inside captures the comfort and style of the Livingston location and then improves upon it with the beautiful outside seating area. Now onto the food which is just as good if not better than the original location im glad to see the quality has remained consistent. My steak was cooked to perfection and my wifes pasta dish was packed with quality flavor. The drink menu was definitely brought to the next level as well everything seemed like it was fine tuned and everything we tried was on point and had its own unique delicious flavor profile. Andy behind the bar was very knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to talk to about the different cocktails. For dessert we shared the tiramisu which was great it wasn't youre traditional kind but we loved the spin they put on it with the cake and ice-cream. Lastly for service Jonathan took amazing care of us and made our special day very memorable along with the rest of the staff. Everyone that came by the table was professional and had a smile on their face. They all seemed happy and took pride in their work which was nice to see.
