When I worked for Thomas J. Lipton in Englewood Cliffs, my co-workers and I went to Hiram's for lunch often. I plan on going very soon! I so love Hiram's for the food and it's longevity.“

“Got the half mozzarella, half beef dog with the potato coating and it hit the spot. Super crispy on the outside, cheesy and juicy on the inside. It is one of those things where you take a bite and immediately want another.

Edit: I wish it came with a full beef dog instead of just half, and the kimchi fries didn’t include enough fries or kimchi for what we paid.“

A couple a weeks ago I went to New York on short notice and the first thing on my to do list was going there. Say what you want. Those are the best hot dogs on the planet. The owner and his wife are fantastic, welcoming, and super into thier craft. The sweet potato fries were excellent and enough for two people. The chips that come with the burger were also good. My wife had the regular burger with no cheese and an order of regular fries. She really enjoyed it and said it was cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly, the owner, Mel, greeted us, took our order and chatted with us while our order was being prepared. We were given a little disc that lit up and vibrated when the order was ready to be picked up at the counter. One of the best burgers around! A little pricy, but definitely worth it! Once you enter go right side and you will find the food court. There is a few seatings inside, but due to covid it is better to take the donuts home. Service: I did not have any interaction with the employees. We just order and go. Food: All that we ordered was delicious, we had UBE, MATCHA, YUZU, NUTELLA, COOKIES and CREAM and BLACK SESAME. My favorites are UBE and BLACK SESAME, they have distinct flavors. The dough is soft and gooey, which is what I like for a mochi donut. Price rating: 7/10, it was not that bad for the price. Walked in hungry… walked out questioning my life choices (in the best way). The Pepito Mix sandwich loaded with beef and chicken was basically a heavyweight champion between two pieces of bread. Then came the arepas—thick fried cornmeal shells stuffed with carne asada, pork belly, sweet plantains, special sauce, and a mountain of shredded queso. That’s not a snack… that’s a strategy for survival. 😅
Washed it down with fresh passion fruit juice and a cold Maltín Polar like a true gentleman of culture.
Shoutout to my waitress Paola, who patiently guided me through the menu while I pointed at everything like a kid in a candy store. The place is small, cozy, full of Venezuelan music, and the staff are incredibly kind.
Moral of the story:

Today was my daughter's birthday and she asked if we could stop by and of course I said yes. The sweet girl behind the counter, Diana, took our order promptly and immediately saw my daughter's birthday girl badge. She asked her how old she was turning and proceeded to give her a warm Happy Birthday and a free donut! I mean it when I say this small act of kindness made sure the day ended on a perfect note.
