I spent my whole life assuming if you wanted a burger or a chicken sandwich, the bread was simply the price of admission. Then Shake Shack Forest Hills came along with crisp lettuce wraps for both, and I realized I had been living under the tyranny of buns.

“Now THAT is a Korean corn dog. My first Korean corn dog at another spot was honestly not my favorite, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But when I tried Jongro, I finally understood the hype.

The corn dog was really good, the potatoes were crispy and flavorful, and it definitely wasn’t bland. From what I’ve seen, Korean corn dogs can come with half a hot dog and cheese on top, but I personally wish it was a full hot dog with cheese wrapped around it.

“I came all the way from Long Island to Rego Park, and while passing through I spotted this hot dog truck and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did! The hot dogs were AMAZING. I ordered the chili cheese dog with onions and mustard, along with a sauerkraut dog with mustard, and both were absolutely delicious. We stayed in Jackson Heights, and on our final night before leaving, we ate at Empanadas Mix.

First of all, I’m a tough critic. No shade but I’m a Karen when it comes to food 😂 I WILL find something wrong, and somehow I had absolutely nothing to complain about.
The burger? Imagine Shake Shack if Shake Shack went gourmet. And I LOVE Shake Shack. It’s always been one of my favorite burgers, but Boni Burger genuinely blew it out of the water. The flavor, the quality, EVERYTHING. It’s what Shake Shack wishes it could be. I genuinely don’t think I can go back to Shake Shack after this. 😭

Now, the burek? OH MY GOD. Growing up around Morris Park, I’m very familiar with Albanian and Balkan food. I love my Balkan people, and I’ve had some seriously good, authentic burek over the years. So trust me when I say my expectations are HIGH. Their burek was absolutely perfect.

I’m sure some of those TikTok videos were promotional, but you know what? NO LIES WERE TOLD. Everything was genuinely that good. I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I was. I’m already planning to go back for another burger and to finally try their shakes. This is exactly why you can’t judge a book by its cover. Boni Burger, you officially have a repeat customer. 10/10!!!“

“We visited this restaurant to celebrate my 39th birthday on a Tuesday. The traffic was great, and parking was smooth. As we entered, we noticed that the place was barely occupied, likely due to it being a Tuesday. We waited by the door, but no one greeted us. After walking a bit further, we saw some people, but no host. Five minutes later, someone got up from a seat and walked towards us. We were seated immediately and given drinks. The menu looked amazing, so we ordered chicken wings as an appetizer. They were incredible! Our son enjoyed a kids' burger. We also had corn on the cob and the pit feast for two. However, the brisket was dry, the ribs were overcooked, the chicken was dry, and the sausages had a sauce that didn't taste great. The French fries were okay, the candied yams were great, the rice was good, and the pickled salad wasn't the best. The Shirley Temple was delicious, though. Overall, we didn't like the food and were expecting just a batter platter. The TikToks we watched made it seem like this was the best restaurant in the city, but we left really disappointed. We won't be returning for the same platter.“

“101 is the last true dive bar! The final frontier of bar hopping. Of course it’s rough around the edges but that’s the character I seek! It’s welcoming once you’re comfortable there, the drinks are abundant and strong. The vibe are always so incredibly positive and strong. The dancing and climbing around the wooden furniture is such a whimsical experience. At a certain point everyone’s on a vibe together. The dark haired bartender with tattoos is one of the free-est most unique individuals I’ve ever met. I am a big fan of the energy and personality in this bar.“
