“Lived in the area for a couple years and this was my first time visiting this place. Absolutely loved it. Service was excellent but the show stopper is the food. I ordered Spicy Salmon Rolls and they were, for the first time, actually spicy. Everything tasted fresh and portion sizes were above average. “We’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, so it’s overdue for a review after a delicious lunch with too many amazing menu items to choose from for just one sitting. We have followed this family-owned and operated establishment since the days when they were a food truck, then they moved to a small place on a side street in Verona and now at the current bigger location. This is authentic Thai food of the highest quality, and it has never declined over all these years.

The pad thai has true flavor, not excessively sweet. If you want something sweet, the sticky rice is perfect. Pad see ew noodles are fantastic, as are the curries. Amazing veggie dumplings and spring rolls, and saving the best for last…the shrimp buns- lightly breaded and fried whole shrimp on a fluffy open bun with a lightly spicy mayo based sauce…you have to go just for these alone!

Also the ambience is great - big rounded windows let in plenty of light to contrast with the exposed brick. Plus the service is friendly. We really love this place.“

“I’ve been going to this restaurant since it opened. The service and food has always been fantastic. It’s one of the places that I’ve brought my family to. The consistency of this place has held strong all these years.I’ve been to tons of sushi restaurants and this one truly has the best spicy fish rolls. The sauce in other places can be too sweet and they don’t cut up the fish nicely. Raku does it perfectly and they add in some crunch. However, I would recommend any dish from this place because everything I’ve tried has been good.“

“Very cool to find a yakitori spot here in Bergen County. I tried various chicken skewers and the tonkotsu ramen. Everything was pretty decent, but not amazing. I thought the skewers weren’t grilled enough because I was hoping to get more crispy bits and charred flavor. Everything also tasted a bit under-salted, in my opinion. The Asahi on draft was lighter than I expected, though I can’t say if it was abnormally light because I don’t usually get it. (Another review said it tasted watery so I wanted to comment on that as well.) I would opt for a bottled beer next time, of which they have a nice selection. Overall, not a bad experience, but also not nearly an equal substitute for yakitori in the city.“

The three waiters were very attentive and with a smile. A varied menu with sushi and entrees. As appetizers we had miso soup, sunomono, and the sushi donut. For dinner, we ordered the special mango tuna roll, volcano roll, dynamite roll, and the sweet heart roll. All rolls were delicious, good proportions, and fresh. For dessert we enjoyed the chocolate moose pyramid and the 3 year old enjoyed the chocolate gelatto with a teddy bear made of white chocolate that was the highlight. She trully loved it jajaja! Somunmanjip opens at 8 o’clock.
I ate soybean paste stew for breakfast.
The side dishes are fresh and the fried eggs and stewed tofu are delicious.
It's been a long time since I had a satisfying meal at Palpak, so I'm leaving a review.
The Korean female employee who serves alone in the morning answers the phone brightly and kindly and provides service.
I had a really pleasant and delicious meal.

“The sushi is very good, however, when ordering online 2 issues:

1. No payment available as credit card in their website (so either you accept the uber fees, you need to pickup or pay in cash)

2. For some reason, they have more than one websites. In one of them, they have a quantity offer of a free item. In others not. So if you are lucky, you get it. If not, you don’t.

Other than that, really recommend once is very fresh.“

They have a pretty decent menu selection or hot and cold items of different rolls, sashimi, nigeri, etc. I thought the sushi rolls were ok but the rice should be a bit chewier. It was a bit too watery and soft for me. Really liked their fried items and the teriyaki fish they have.

Service was decent. The atmosphere was a bit too dark and stuffy for me. Would be nice to have some windows.
