“Everyone was friendly and amazing. We had a small hiccup with the order but Josh, our amazing server was very helpful & quick to rectify. The portions are large so you will be more than satisfied. Always a great time when I come & also kid friendly!“
“This place is so iconic and famous that I was expecting it to be all hype and not that great.I walked in expecting an average experience but what awaited me was lip smacking fare and great service.Don't forget I was excited though as I'd never eaten soul food before. My waiter Sean helped fix my wobbly table with wads of napkin. I WAS LIKE AH, WOBBLY TABLES HUH....will the food be good....?I ordered mac and cheese, collard greens and smothered chicken. Sean told me 'nah, what you should try is the BBQ short rib'. I said yes you're the expert here.Best food ever or was I just hungry? Dunno, was an excellent meal !!Seeing how much I was enjoying myself. Sean then shouted me an Arnold Palmer, which I did not know off, to round out an excellent first soul food experience.Thank you Sean and thank you Sylvia's.“
“Had a great time with my family and that was in part to the staff. From the host that sat us , to the singing server, the barkeep, and others. Food was excellent. We went with a Tapas or strictly appetizer selection. Food was great tasting and eye opening. To my peaked curiosity, the reimagined Spring Rolls were Southern Comfort Food in crispy, fried Southern meets East , bites. The Calamari was fresh, not rubbery, wings on point and the handful was of catfish strip so hot and flavourful we ordered them twice.“
“This is one of the best sports bars I’ve been to in NYC. Met up for one of my friends birthdays and went bar hopping and ended up here. They have TV’s at every angle, and plenty of spacing for standing or seating. The have many options for drinks, and the food options are very strong as well. It was my first time here, but I’ll definitely be returning. I would recommend this to any group of friends looking to catch some games and enjoy and solid hue.“
“The food was great! We had chick&waffle and seafood jambalaya, they were both delicious. The staff was very kind and nice, they offer us high chair before we asked. The atmosphere was great and we love the decoration and the design of the store, very well curated! Highly recommend this restaurant and will be back soon! We didn’t make reservation in advance but I think for dinner hour you might need to do so, because it was almost full house during lunch hour in weekend today.Kid-friendliness: Staff was kind and offered us high chair before we asked!“
“I find myself loving this place more and more, not only is the food great but the owners are AMAZING!!! It’s black owned, and the love they put in their food just keeps me coming back everytime I’ve had to come to Harlem. The fried foods are made fresh to order which is what you would hope for, and everything else is on point. Exactly what I be hoping for when I crave soul food. Must try!!“
“Ordered via UberEats. I got the bodega & the ACP.Oh my god. Immediate eyes rolled to the back of my head at the first bite of the bodega biscuit. I got the maple cayenne butter also which I feel was a nice touch. The buttermilk biscuit is buttery, rich, soft, and so good!! Not dry at all!The ACP came with the gravy on the side, which I appreciated to avoid a soggy biscuit. Again, absolutely delicious although I will say it might’ve been a bit salty.. but regardless it was great! Savory and just *chef’s kiss* Worth every penny!I couldn’t even finish it. They are not skimpy with the portions at all! I only wish they had some lattes / tea. Will definitely be ordering again!Truly a neighborhood gem!“

“It was a good experience. most for the ambience and the place that seems to be a more local experience or conoceurs. I was happy at the beginning with the service, but later the waiter just forget about us and had to chase them for any additional thing like the check, sinc ethey didn't offer us to check desserts. The drinks were really good, the food was ok, but I was really expecting more since I've had better Eggplant parmegiano at other places.“
“I order from Javelina all the time and the food is always great. They are willling to modify my order without any issues and I am super appreciative. But this time they went even more over the top as I accidentally ordered pickup instead of selecting delivery. When I called to ask them to change my order they could not have been any more kind to me. (And they don’t know this but I am hurt and would not have been able to walk to pick my food up). So thank you Javelina. You guys rock.“
“Great spot for drinks and food with a chill atmosphere and the perfect music levels to enjoy a conversation. Pricing is right and portions are big. Southern inspired food and drinks and good service. Will definitely be coming back and would recommend anyone to try it. We came around 7 on a Friday no reservation was needed.“
“I was introduced to Jacob's Pickles recently when meeting a friend at the Moynihan Trail Hall. He insisted on finding food as soon as he arrived from Washington, D.C., refusing to venture outside the building. So, we headed to the food court and stumbled upon Jacob's Pickles. The enticing aroma from the kitchen beckoned us, especially with its unique southern-inspired menu, which particularly resonated with me being from the south. I opted for the barbecue chicken-loaded fries as a starter, which turned out to be a substantial meal in itself. The portion size was exceptionally generous, prompting me to take some home. It's rare to find such generous portions in New York City without breaking the bank. Additionally, I indulged in biscuits and gravy and mac-and-cheese with two friends. I recommend treating these dishes as a family-style dining experience due to their size. Although Jacob's Pickles in the train hall lacks a dedicated dining area, the hall provides a pleasant space to enjoy your meal, provided it's not too crowded. While the food was served in a reasonable amount of time, it did take a bit longer for the barbecue chicken-loaded fries. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Jacob's Pickles and look forward to returning when my friend visits again and inevitably demands immediate dining. It's safe to say where we'll be dining next time!“
“Vietnamese food is one of my favorite cuisines so I've had a lot of Viet food in my life. I've also been to Vietnam three times. So believe me when I say Saigon Bistro has really good Viet food! The grilled pork was delicious and juicy. Spring rolls were crispy and perfectly cooked. Summer rolls were also good. We also got the sweet corn pudding which we liked too. Oh service is great as well. We'll be back many times.“
“Being from the south Everything about this place is amazing. I was so hurt when I ate everything on my plate. The greens, I can't stop thinking about them. And the apple cobbler, I almost cried when I ate the last bite. I was curious about the crosstown drink and tried it. It did NOT disappoint. I found my new soul food place and can't wait to return.“
“Had the catfish poboy at uptown night Market! They told me 15 minutes was done in 15 minutes. It was a large fried catfish filet and it was perfectly crispy. I think the tartar sauce may have needed a little more salt but overall great experience. Reminded me of Louisiana“
“For Breakfast, I bought French Toast and an Omelet. Most bodegas in the area don't make French Toast (a few don't know what French Toast is), so I was fortunate to discover that this place makes French Toast. There isn't much room to eat inside the place, so I think it's mostly take out orders. My food was ready relatively quickly. Approximately 5 minutes and the food itself was fine in a basic way.“
“I’ve been wanting to come here for a while so today 03/14/2024 I decided to drive all the way from Queens and I wasn’t disappointed. The woman that took my order was very welcoming and polite but the only issue I had was it’s not really a sit down restaurant. More like an order to go place. Now there’s a small bench with three seats inside near the front window and I was lucky that 3 customers that was waiting for their food gave me the seats. I ordered the 3 piece Pan-Fried Chicken with Mac&Cheese and Yams which came with Cornbread. The food was AMAZING, SO AMAZING I ordered a plate to go(with a little guilt)! Food shouldn’t taste so good. They make it hard for me trying to stay healthy. I’m just happy they don’t have one in Queens near me! GREAT FOOD!“
“I BBQ and smoke meats at home but don't always feel like doing a 12hr brisket cook. Saw this place nearby and figured to give it a try. The Korean fixings on top of traditional BBQ went great. Got the brisket sandwich and it was delicious. Corn bread was really good too.Was expecting to order takeout but ended up sitting inside. They but had a decent amount of tables. It also had table service which was unexpected. Service was excellent and really appreciated the conversation and genuine help. Definitely will be going back.“
“The best restaurant of the entire trip to New York. We felt like we were at home eating dinner with our mothers. It filled the stomach and the soul. This is an obligatory stop to discover how well people eat in the United States. Great southern food.“
“SO next to our hotel was a nice food court and Bob White was one of my offerings. My son had recommended them based on a video he had seen and yep they were good. Chicken sando: Perfectly fired chicken with just the right amount o f mayo. The pickles added a salty sweet crunch and the acid hit helped balance the mayo Chicken Tenders: again perfectly battered and fried. The Bob White sauce (their house sauce) was very similar to Raising Cains just a bit more acid and a touch thinner. That and the he Blue cheese was excellent Caesar Salad: Nice greens with good tasting dressing. Service was friendly and on point.“
“Loved the vibes, menu was a bit limited but I would say decent varieties to choose from. Drinks were great, Churros were ok nothing special! Mexican rice was spicy so if you enjoy some spice definitely try that out. Fish tacos were delicious. Chicken quesadillas were amazing, probably my fav item on the menu balanced seasoning and great flavor.“
