“Typical local Mexican restaurant & bar operated by a dominican staff. The bar service was great. The food was average at best. I ordered the steak tostadas, wings, and fries. The wings were fried too hard. The tostadas needed seasoning. Overall, I had a great time watching the Canelo fight.“

“Was in Printers Alley this weekend with my parents for the first time staying in a hotel nearby and found this place really nice and chill with good food, loads of TVs for games with a big NFL game on while we were in - We sat at the bar as a lot of the tables were reserved but Thomas was so nice and took great care of us while checking in regularly with us to make sure we were okay while also giving my parents a laugh and recommendations on what to do around the city. Can't fault this bar at all and will definitely be back next time in NYC!“

“The spicy chicken biscuit omg toooooo die for so my husband and I saw many people entering this spot plus it was our first time. We heard mac and cheese, greens, and fried chicken. So we got a bucket of mixed chicken, two sides of Mac and cheese, and some collard greens (they make them with black eyed peas and tomatoes; totally different from any kind of greens I ever had and I definitely was left craving more. “I’ve always been a fan of the Commodore so was delighted this opened up closer to me with the same menu. They make a perfect blended mint mojito, great queso, and have awesome atmosphere. There’s outdoor seating once it warms up so it’s a great place to drop by for a couple drinks and snacks! The bartenders are great and sociable and the bar has matchbooks. Don’t know what else you’d want!“

The host was pleasant, offered us cornbread and water while we waited. Our server was lack luster, she was so busy being busy she completely missed the mark at every opportunity. The food took a while to come out but it was good. Atmosphere comfortable. Would be willing to try again.“

“The popcorn soft serve is actually so good. I thought at first it was going to taste like pure butter, they’re is actually a nice balance of butter, salt, and a flavor that can only be described as butterscotch I suppose. They also stack this ice cream super high, so for the price you really get your money’s worth. I also got the bag of biscuits. They were buttery and tasted really homemade. I honestly ate the whole bag in a day because they were so good. The butter they came with was also really good. I can’t wait to come back here so I can try more!“

“The Honey Chicken Biscuit was good. Chicken was juicy and not overcooked. Fried to almost perfection. Biscuit was soft and well made…but a lil bland. Separate the chicken and biscuit are ok…together their better. The mac n cheese is by far the best i’ve had in The Time Out Market (sooo much better than bark barbecue)…everything is fresh and made to order.“

I got the chili chicken leg with fries combo, which was made to order. The dish was beautifully presented and the chicken was perfectly cooked. However, I thought that the seasoning was unexpectedly sweeter than I would have liked. I appreciate that gloves were offered.

Beware that if you dine in, there is only a portable AC that absolutely struggled to perform; I found the temperature inside unbearably hot. I felt bad for the staff, who were fantastic.

I'd come again to try something else, though maybe for takeout instead.“

“I finally came here after years of hearing about this place and trying many different options from places in New Rochelle all the way to Nyack. Although the atmosphere is minimal the food is delicious and plentiful. I felt as if I was picking up plates of soul food from my church ladies with the gospel music playing which I did not mind.

I ordered three dinners we tried the fried chicken, collards, yams and one order of mac and cheese that was a mistake we should have gotten more and order of peach cobbler. As my daughter described it she felt like eating this food was like getting a hug from a grandma! None of the food is overly seasoned which my husband and I prefer but seems to be the common mistake a lot of soul food locations are making.

There is a detour near the location which makes parking a little bit of a challenge however, that will not stop me from returning.“

Breakfast is always served fresh and made to order. The bacon and sausage are bursting with flavor. The omelettes and sunny side up eggs are also tasty. The portions are very filling, I usually have leftovers that warm up well for the next day. The staff are consistently professional. The food tastes like it's home cooked and saves me from cooking when I'm not up to it. I highly recommend for breakfast.“
