“So to be honest the food is so GOOOD LIKE AMAZING because the egg roll is so delicious and the fired chicken it so gooodd i would recommend the egg roll and fired chicken but the only that made me confused was the floor the floor was a mess and the wall is super dirty. And also is flys too and they prices are kinda high but overall they food is so amazing so I give it a 3.9 I just wouldn’t recommend dining in but overall they food is so amazing and delicious but the table was dirty so we had to clean it up but the food is good hot n fresh“

“Little disappointed at this place. Saw they had Crispy Beef with Fresh Honey Walnuts Beef with a bed of steamed broccoli in a sweet brown sauce topped with sugared walnuts. Not crispy as from can see in pic. Was this really beef also? Walnuts were plain as well.Steamed Spinach Dumplings were a bit dry . Hunan Dumplings Spinach and beef dumplings topped with spicy peanut sauce. Spicy. I got not spicy but were very good. Would I try again. Yes think I would.“

“Had an excellent dinner at Paper Lantern of Montclair. The short ribs were excellent for an appetizer, delicious sauce. Wonton soup and dumplings were perfect and the sesame chicken and spicy Szechuan chicken were also wonderful. All of the staff were nice and the restaurant is cute inside.“

“I sprained my ankle like a week ago, unable to really cook. I have been coming here for years on and off for probably close to 20 years. I was looking to feed the family and came across their family meal for 8 deal on their website. For the price you spend and for what you get it is amazing, truly. The food quality is easily the best in the area. ALL of the chinese restaurants are not great in the Haskell/Wanaque/Ringwood/Pompton Lakes area except for this one. Honestly the family meal for 8 could probably feed easily more hungry people. The food itself was well made, the egg rolls are good. Properly fried, no issues. The food came in custom bags that has the restaurant logo. I really hope they don't change this offer anytime soon as I will probably order every few weeks going forward for awhile. Also thing I want to note a lady called us (was etremely nice) asked us about the type of soup we wanted which by the way is a full size soup on the family meal for 8 and I'm sure they are full size on the others as well. I greatly appreciate the effort they put into the food and my family was happy to eat it. Will order again soon, thanks!“

“We have been ordering take out from China 23 since they opened and have always been satisfied with the quality of the food. My last order I mistakenly ordered "volcano" wonton instead of the regular. I didn't realize my goof until I got home and read the receipt. I called back and they told me they make me the wonton right away if I would come back to pick it up. When I returned, I was told no charge for the regular wonton. “Fairlawn's Hunan Wok is a fantastic restaurant. I've been going there for approximately 15 years, and I still really like the meal. Although their cuisine isn't as greasy as that of some Chinese restaurants, I would argue that their pricing are a little expensive! Anyone in the neighborhood searching for delicious Cantonese cuisine should definitely check it out, in my opinion. The proprietors are welcoming and will always make you feel welcome.“

“Honestly, this place ruined Chinese food for me anywhere else. The food is consistently insane. The boneless spare rib tips are hands down the best I’ve ever. The dumplings are incredible, and their Hot & Sour soup is on another level. I’ve tried countless Chinese spots over the years and nothing comes close to this place.

What really separates them is they don’t cheap out. They’re generous with the sauces, portions, and noodles — which is rare now. “Great old school neighborhood Chinese restaurant at low prices. Classic renditions of standards like wonton soup, fried rice, egg foo young, and shrimp with lobster sauce are all spot on. The servers work their tails off, and they’re lovely, but unfortunately they’re juggling dine-in and takeout and the latter is voluminous. “We are seriously SO impressed with Essex Chinese Kitchen. The food is amazing — everything tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and high quality. And on top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the portions you get.

We ordered the bubble teas (brown sugar milk tea and original milk tea), and they were SO good — perfectly balanced with that floral black tea flavor coming through. Not overly sweet, just smooth and refreshing.

I got the golden fried brown shrimp with fried rice and it was FIRE. Crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and broccoli, and they absolutely do NOT skimp on portions. The serving sizes were generous and so satisfying.

The staff were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

I had found one takeout place in Mendham that has done really well for years and when I work in that area I order it. On a whim I asked them how theirs was and said I would let her know. I stopped eating just to write how much I love this spot. I order almost once a week. The food never disappoints and I believe they truly deserve 5 stars. They have wonderful customer service, always pleasant when I call, speedy delivery, and quality food (and packaging) There is no other chinese food in bergen country i’ve found that I can say has all of these qualities about them. Tonight I ordered sweet and sour chicken with chicken lo mein. The lo mein is so good I would give it a 9/10. The sweet and sour chicken is my favorite. 10/10. “The Jersey City location of Wonder, has me in a chokehold. Karian made the entire atmosphere so welcoming, that from my experience working in food hospitality, her shod is the best shift. They communicated effectively and efficiently. They had fun while pushing out orders. I almost want to jump back there and help out just so I could feel like I was a part of the team and not a guest. Karian and BoH went above and beyond for my order, answering every question I had and even provided me tips on which is form of ordering is better. I love this place and the staff.
