“I have resided in Harrison for the past 9 years, hopping from one apartment to another. The one place I constantly order from is Chinatown. The food is consistently great.

“The options for good and authentic Asian food in this area are limited. We have done Sakura for takeout a handful of times and they are pretty good for takeout/quick Asian food. The sushi is affordable and the fried rice portion sizes are huge. We have also tried a few of their appetizers including the seaweed salad and dumplings. All the food here tastes good and we have no complaints. Will order takeout from them again.“

“Got the $50 set menu, really good value. The 9 piece nigiri was really good. Miso black cod and coconut shrimp hand rolls also very good but logistically challenging. Korean chicken app was great, gyoza I didnt love. Place was clean and food was fast.“

“I got so lucky when I randomly stumbled upon this place while getting lunch at work. As someone who loves chicken teriyaki trust me when I say you must try theirs. I have been searching for the last few years all around the bergen county area for the best chicken teriyaki and I have found it here. This is my absolute favorite! I have tried probably 50+ restaurants and nothing can beat this. From the way they prepare chicken, to the homemade sauce they use, the perfectly cooked rice and the avocado, egg and dumplings they add on.... it is one of the greatest combinations i've ever tasted. On top of that, their sushi is always delicious and fresh. If thats not enough, they also have fantastic owners and workers there. I always get a warm greeting, and they're thankful for my patronage. Fantastic all around. I will be back soon... My favorite sushi spot!“

“Service was truly excellent and the food was really very special. Excellent and fresh, well prepared sushi dishes. The menu is tremendous.

Free food! Yes they give you things for free. Free platter of salted edamame. I took my leftovers home, because I couldn’t finish my huge lunch portions. They wrapped everything beautifully, included free miso soup and sweets in the bag. They also gave me extra soy sauce wasabi and dishes as well as utensils.

Free probiotic drink after your meal.

In the past during COVID they use to deliver. I am not sure if they do now. Absolutely, incredible! You can go for lunch and dinner if you want!“

We also had perfectly salty edamame and yummy mochi. They even gave us an extra one! If was a very calm place only sushi bar seating but YUM!“

“Service and every dishes other than sushi was great! However, I really have to give the sushi rice they used and sushi selection limitation a comment because the rice used is not for sushi. Fish is really fresh, but rice is hard to chew or swallow. And selection for sushi is quite limited. The old menu they have has scallop and squid, none of that is actually selling any more. There’s basic fish sushi and all types of rolls tho which is nice, but rice really makes me hard to enjoy them. Despite all that, ither food choice is various from cold dish to hot fried rice to fruits and dessert. In general it is worth to try“

“Absolutely stellar experience. From being beginning to end. From the warm greeting from Juan and Brian upon entering, to the cheeky banter from chef johan, to the warm smile from Kevin. It felt as though I was being welcomed into the home of an old friend who had particularly exceptional taste in music. All in all, a lovely experience that I would definitely recommend.“

“The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They did a nice job on the restoration after the fire, everything is now more modern and doesn't look like the outdated renovation that was done years ago looking like a 90s restaurant.

The sushi was very fresh and I like the big selection to choose from on the menu as well. They have a nice cooked section for those that don't do raw food.

Pricing was super reasonable for good sushi. They even have lunch specials, I'm going to stop by for lunch in the future. My wife had the sashimi, which is always her favorite. Kids had soda, and it was under $2? What? I got coke from another restaurant for $3.50 ridiculous.“

“Overall it was pretty good! Yamada is a cute little sushi spot in Rutherford with unique antique decor I would say. I’ve tried couple different things and it was good, I can test the freshness from all the dishes I’ve had. The service was great and the prices were affordable. Will be back again.“

“First time in this place. My boyfriend is very particular with the quality of tuna he’s getting from a sushi place, and Nigiri did not disappoint. I love my Salmon sashimi, too! The place is also well situated a few steps to Exchange Place, Waterfront which is a plus. Parking spot is a little hard to find but the food made it worth it.“

“By far one of the best Korean Japanese restaurants. I’ve been ordering from Sea Shai since 2021/22 & the consistency of the food and customer service is always amazing! The flavor of the food is spectacular. I travel to Sea Shai to pick up my order because it is several neighborhoods away, totally worth the drive. The food is priced fairly for the portion and flavors you are receiving. Highly recommend trying this restaurant out. I cannot get enough of the Bulgogi with white rice platter, A M A Z I N G!

“My husband and I have eaten in mikawa twice before, the food is delicious, the vegetables are very fresh so is the sushi , I had the soup with noodles with plenty chicken and vegetables in a big bowl. The service is very attentive and cordial. We are planing to go back this coming Wednesday with a group of four, they are looking forward to. We’re very surprised of their prices not expected to be so competitive you would not break the bank. We’re very thankful to have this restaurant in our neighborhood. “I had a great experience at Maki Sushi while I was in town for work and happened to stumble in for dinner. I sat at the sushi bar and ordered the Sushi Deluxe, which came with 10 pieces of chef’s-choice sushi and a roll — I went with salmon and avocado. Everything was fresh, well prepared, and thoughtfully put together.

Pete, who is both the sushi chef and the owner, was excellent. We struck up a genuinely good conversation while I was eating, and he was friendly, complimentary, and clearly takes pride in what he does. Sitting at the bar felt welcoming and relaxed — the kind of place where you actually enjoy talking to the person making your food.

One small but really impressive detail stood out: Pete noticed I like a little wasabi with my tuna and offered me fresh wasabi without me even asking. For a sushi spot of this size, having fresh wasabi on hand is always impressive — it’s a great little treat, and usually something you only get if you know to ask. That kind of attentiveness says a lot.

The quality of the fish here is excellent. My favorite bite of the night was the salmon belly — rich, buttery, and delicious. The sushi here is definitely geared toward a more classic and approachable palate. It’s simple, clean, and done well, and the quality of the fish and service really shine.

I’m really glad I found this place and will absolutely come back next time I’m in the area. Thanks for a great experience, Pete — maybe next time I’m in town you’ll have some toro on hand just for me.

Not only was our food vivacious, extraordinary, and a religious experience for the palate — our server, Sam, was nothing but helpful and attentive throughout our entire meal. He was incredibly inviting and warm (this guy should do stand up) and our experience would not have been the same without him. Now for the food. The flavors… where do I even begin? Rich. Luxurious. “I've been coming here on-off for about 3 years, I think? It's a lovely, quiet place. I'm rarely in the mood for sushi but from my occasional hunt, the bulgogi roll lured me here. And the simple atmosphere & excellent service made me come back again, and again. Although I don't have many pictures of my dining or pickups from here, I highly recommend the bulgogi or pink salmon special (seared roll)
