“I have ate at Tom Yum Koong for quite some time, almost since the time I was 15 years old. I always grabbed a bite here after tutoring and extensive study hours.

After graduating, I am practically a regular now and have tried at least everything on the menu except for the chef's specials and several appetizers. I'm sure they are great too and worth sharing as a family.

For what it's worth, the owner, Anne is a wonderful person. She is enthusiastic about her culture, her dishes, and everything she provides to her customers is simply the best. Though, the food can be heavy and forced me to go into deep food comas at times! In fact, I was so hungry one time that I ordered a Pad Thai with extra noodles! It was crazy, but the consistency and use of aromatics, as well as sauce was amazing.

For starters of Thai cusine, I recommend anything from their lunch special. The salad, soup, and entree was worth it. I suppose that the portion is less than their dinners, but mind you, everything tasted delicious! However, the only thing I'd say is that the food has gotten expensive. It makes sense, so be very careful of ordering here like I did.

As for tipping, it is required here for sit-down and encouraged for takeout. I tend to eat here alone, and there's no shame in that, but I always tend to tip around $2-3. The restaurant does not do any Uber, Door dash, or anything of the like, so if you order, you'd need to pick it up yourself after calling the store, or wait until at least 5pm and call them for delivery. They accept either cash or card, but if it's card, you'd need to tell them your card information and the amount to tip.

Regardless, Tom Yum Koong is a great restaurant. Given how long I have been eating here, the owners treat me pretty much like family. I guess it's a good thing, but it's also probably because I always prefer eating here more than anywhere else!“

“Hasbrouck Heights pizza is an excellent place. Their pasta dishes are amazing as are their chicken and eggplant. Love the margarita pizza. Delivery is quick the people on the phone are nice. We order at least twice a week. I only have one comment that’s a little negative. I view times I ordered and didn’t receive the correct item I asked for. To mention a few: On one occasion I ordered Broccoli and pasta. I asked if I could have broccoli rabe instead and was told no problem. That didn’t happen. This happened twice. On another occasion I ordered eggplant Rolatini but received eggplant para. Not terrible but not the right order. Today 8/10 I ordered a Cold sandwich Roast Beef club with bacon and L/T. But I received a Hot roast beef sandwich instead which I don’t love. The person on the phone repeated to me what I ordered she said Roast Beef Club. I usually order late when I come home from work. So only a few times I called back to get the right order. I can’t wait another 45 minutes for the correct order. I don’t know if it’s the person taking the order pushing the wrong item or the people cooking not making the ordered items. My delivery bill says Hot Roast Beef which I would never order. Would never had mentioned.“

“Celebrated our 5 year anniversary here and it was intimate and so romantic! We sat in a private area with a little booth and fireplace. It was everything you need for a romantic dinner with your spouse. Food was amazing HIGHLY recommend the Bacon wrapped scallops and the Risotto! We also ordered the Ivy Inn specialty pie, So good! & for Dessert you want to try the Cheesake with Gelato! Delicious. We cant wait to come back to celebrate more milestones or just have a night out.“

“I am so so with Chinese food. Usually picky and really don't like many places. I LOVE their General Tso's chicken!! I mean LOVE it!! We now do a Chinese food night 1x a week just because I NEED this dish in my life!! Their pork fried rice is not greasy and soggy. Also their fried cheese wontons are awesome. “Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.“

“This was a fantastic experience! From the moment we stepped inside, the staff was courteous, engaging, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a party of 3, and ordered 6 dishes. Each dish came out as it was made and each dish was absolutely delicious. A person in our party had a gluten allergy which was no problem and accommodated with ease. “Went for an early dinner like 4:30 pm for a pizza, we were the only ones in there.

As expected service was super attentive and very friendly and kind.

I ordered the honey pepperoni pizza. I ate the whole thing minus a few crusts. The sauce was delicious.

I appreciate Kimika’s creative menu with plenty of vegetarian options. Our waitress Kara/Cara was so friendly and helpful. I started with a Spritz that I think could’ve used some more bubbles, but the flavors were on point. The food was good but I felt like there could’ve been a bit more flavor. We tried the Truffle Carbonara, Soy Butter Bigoli, and Eggplant Katsu - I think the Bigoli was my favorite (think elevated lo mien). For dessert, we tried the lava cake, matcha French toast (would get it with ice cream if I were to over come again) and the Nutella Bombolocini (very creative - think mochi stuffed with Nutella).
Overall, I loved the concept of Kimika and the service, but I think there could’ve been just a tad more flavor in some of our dishes. Definitely a place to try once!“

“I went there with my boyfriend and his father during a trip in NYC and we weren’t disappointed. My boyfriend had the kofta kobab which had a very meaty texture. “I've eaten a LOT of pancakes over the years -- I think I lost count at the age of 5 or so. Some of those pancakes have been just OK, and some of them have been pretty good -- even great on occasion.

However, when my wife and I were in NYC a couple weekends ago to visit our daughter, I experienced something new:

The BEST pancake of my life.

I don't know exactly how Chloe figured out how to accomplish this feat -- especially for a vegan pancake -- and I don't really care. All I know is if I lived in NYC, I would be eating that stack of cinnamon swirl pancakes -- slathered in maple butter and syrup -- at least once EVERY weekend, maybe twice.

They are that good.

Chloe had an iced maple walnut coffee thing on the menu too, and it was amazing. Next trip to NYC, my wife and daughter and I will be setting up camp at Chloe. And if they're lucky, we might even invite some of our daughter's friends.“

“A fully vegan Korean restaurant situated right in the heart of Manhattan?! My west coast heart is pounding in jealousy and longing to return once again. It's often very hard to find restaurants that serve fully vegan Korean food so the fact that this exists is truly special. A lot of items will be vegetarian at best so to be able to have an extensive menu to order from is a treat. My friends and I came here for lunch and were seated fairly quickly in their hip restaurant. I ordered a couple of things: - Combination Pancakes consisting of sweet corn cilantro, scallion & spicy kimchi offerings. This was their take on traditional Korean jeon and I didn't realize they'd bring out so many small pieces for the table. My favorite was definitely the sweet corn cilantro. - Crispy Korean Chili Tofu Lunch Special, which included a soup and salad of the day as well as two additional banchan (including a pancake!) The tofu was fried to sweet perfection and the chili sauce was top notch. There ended up being more than enough food just from this alone. I hope this spot sticks around because I'll certainly be coming back to fill my Korean cravings without needing to play around with the menu at other restaurants. By any regular metric, this is a 5/5. Unfortunately, this is New York. More unfortunately, they have a Michelin star. Thus, they must be judged within the strata in which they belong.

The ingredients were FRESH. This is their calling card. The carrots, the squash, the beets, the buckwheat. Kudos to their souring.

The meal is an imbalanced (to me and my table). We were craving protein, and this place highlights the produce. I will say the tastiest dish was a non meat course (mushrooms in a dashi broth)

“Here's the review Spencer wrote for you: My family and I just visited to celebrate my grandsons birthday- we like to get a bunch of plates and share family style and this menu was perfect for that. You have to get mezze and extra bread (must try the kubane). We also ended up getting three orders of the shishbarak for the six of us, it is way too good! I got the salmon for my entree which was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. Spencer our server recommended the silan and the cheesecake for dessert so we shared those and boy were they something special- I can’t pick a favorite! “My friend had heard of this restaurant before and had never gone, so when we spontaneously came across it after a trip to McSorley’s, we had to experience this mushroom-inspired restaurant. We were a little nervous it would be TOO mushroomy, but it wasn’t at all and was a truly incredible experience. The ambiance is impeccable and the food was so innovative with many fun (but well-balanced) flavors. We had the ramen, millet feuille, and ravioli followed by the lava cake.
