“Excellent beer on tap, incredible gator tots, well-cooked burgers and not-great service. In general, I would go here again but you can't be in a hurry or hope that sitting at the bar means you'll be served quickly or asked if you want anything else. Despite this, I have to give 4 stars for the quality of the tater tots alone. Like seriously good!!!“
“wanted to check out a speakeasy while in town and came across the newsroom on tiktok, due to their “stuff your own empanada experience”. nestled in a quiet area of queens, with easy access.lovely speakeasy ambiance with an aerialist performer & live vocal performances. the music they play is all jazzy covers of hit songs, so it fits the vibe so well.the empanadas and the filet mignon taquitos, were so tasteful and delicious.they give you a very decent amount of time to be there, in order to make room for more people. our server Alberto couldn’t have been kinder and more accommodating to our preferences & needs while there.would recommend this to anyone looking for a laid back speakeasy outside of the hustle and bustle of the major city or times square.“
“Everything was perfection - from their service, to their drinks, to their food. We got the escargot to start, followed by the steak frites, pappardelle, and scallops. Everything was very yummy but the scallops were my favorite, and I will be ordering them again the next time I come!“
“Great food and staff went above and beyond for a special request. We jokingly asked if they could make onion rings for a friend at our table. We had the best onion rings ever, along with my favorite pork dish in a LONG time. Great night, don’t sleep on Gus’s.“
“Visiting Çka Ka Qëllu was an amazing culinary journey. From traditional dishes to the warm hospitality of the staff, every aspect exuded authenticity. The ambiance transported me to the heart of Albania, making it a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend!"“
“Favorite restaurant, delicious food, sublime wine, amazing chefs Robbie & Sam , friendly and welcoming owners, Clement & Simone go above and beyond to make your experience of their gem of a restaurant simply the best! Love this treasure in our neighborhood, make your reservation and try as much as you can on the menu, every mouthful is just wonderful!!“
“Chito is our favorite & go-to spot in the city. My wife, friends, work associastes all love it.It’s always busy but has a table, the food is incredible, and so is the service.Best kept secret and may regret writing this review but Badri & team have created something special here.Must try to adjaruli khachapuri & khinkali!“
“Brazilian/Portuguese fine dining experience. I m glad I chose this place. It was magical. It was stunning. Amazing team work from top to bottom. It was open kitchen and that was something I really enjoyed. It was always interesting to witness everyone worked together as a team. Anyway I have to point it out that our server really listened. Navy terms, we call it "attention to details." Special occasion details were not provided when the reservation was made. Yet he figured out the special occasion and improvised accordingly. A surprising treat was served at the end of the dinner. It was like something you would see from a TV show. For the food, the tasting menu was a symphony. A roller coaster ? I would say. The transitions of the flavor from mild to strong and strong to mild were just beautiful. Bravo to the chef. Thoughtfulness was what it was. In my opinion, Some courses were Japanese culture influenced but reconstruted with Brazilian flavored and modern techniques. They were just amazing. Art within art. The collaboration with Toma-L, a renowned painter from France, was a brilliant ideal. It took the dining experience to a whole new level. It is subjective, but I think I had the best dining experience ever. I really enjoyed it.“
“If 10 stars were possible that’s what Reverence deserves. Reference surpassed all my culinary expectations! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and sophistication. The ambiance set the perfect tone for an unforgettable dining journey. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and artistry. The chef’s attention to detail and use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients truly shined through. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and added to the overall exceptional experience. I highly recommend Reference to anyone seeking a truly remarkable dining experience in the heart of the city.“
“5 Stars all around! The atmosphere was incredible, the food was delicious and the service even better. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and gave great recommendations, one of the greeters Inga was so kind and took some great photos for us on our way out.“
“I never had Albanian food before. My doorman is Albanian and told me about this place. This cozy restaurant didn’t disappoint me! I can’t tell it’s authentic or not since I’d never had, but everything we ordered was delicious especially Tave Elbasani, the lamb was so tender with flavorful yoghurt sauce. I must come back for other dishes to try soon!“
“Waffles all day, every day! The West Village’s best breakfast at any time—fabulous homemade waffles and the crispiest bacon ever with your choice of wines—served by friendly servers in covid-sensitive outdoor, light-filled cottage. Why we love Oscar’s Place—thanks Neal & staff!“
“Great food at a reasonable price, but the Belgian beer selection is second-to-none and the staff are super friendly couldn't have been more hospitable. I'd recommend going back over a few evenings to try their different beers, rather than trying to sample them all in one evening like I did though!“
“My party of four, visiting from out of state, came and dined for a birthday. Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The hostesses, our server Oliver, the sommelier, and other team members made this a truly unforgettable experience. We started with a oyster course, which the three others in my party enjoyed, a soup/salad course, in which I got Lobster Soup, and I cannot recommend more. For an entrée, I had the Backhandel which is a traditional dish with a crispy chicken, lemon, and white asparagus. We were fortunate to be in the peak season of white asparagus and I wish I could have it again. Finally they gave us a pancake like dessert, which we ordered. and a free Apple Strudel for the birthday. Both desserts blew my socks off. For the drinks I had a cocktail and we ordered a bottle of white wine. The Level 3 sommelier that had in house recommended the most wonderful bottle of wine that was under $100. He truly amazed me as he wanted to emphasize good wine doesnt have to be expensive and he was not wrong. I can see why they had a michelin star from 2006 to 2022. I strongly believe they should have never lost it. If you get the chance to dine at Wallse you will not be disappointed. Getting to try Austrian fine dining was so different than the italian fine dining you see all over the city. Definitely should be on your list.“
“to start off the service is amazing . staff is super helpful and accommodating making sure customers are satisfied. they have a wide selection of food, so there is always something to order for everyone, even those who are more picky than others. they also have live music and restaurant is very spacious and great for a date night, family/friend get togethers. always down to go here and i’m not even from new jersey!“
“I loved this spot. Having visited Serbia last year, I was missing the food from the region - and Kafana delivered. It’s a got a small cozy vibe and the server was great. We started with some complimentary bread with some traditional red pepper paste which was excellent. For food, we started with cevapi - every country in the Balkans has their variation on these - and they were excellent. The star of the night though was the schnitzel - which was rolled veal with ham and cheese inside and a thin layer of bread, almost like a savory strudel. Delicious! We’d started with beers prior so continued with a local one here but they have a lengthy menu of regional wines which I look forward to exploring on a future visit.“
“Charley is hands down my favorite restaurant in the Harrison area. From the food, the vibes, to the great cocktails, whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong. Jay behind the bar and Sam on the floor really elevate the experience by providing quality service. 10/10 highly recommend.“
“One of my favorite wine bars on the UWS! Very cute and cozy interior without feeling too cramped. Good and reasonably priced glasses, one of my personal favorites is the dry riesling. Service is always great and the food options are fun and delicious.“
“These are the perogies I dream of. hand made generations old recipe both classic ingredients and newer flavors, vegan offerings too. BaBa’s is a must do for us every time we’re in NYC and recently we enjoyed the hand crafted delights at home when we received a bunch as a gift after having a baby for my postpartum nurturing. Just like the name every pierogis feels like a bit of love from grandmas kitchen straight to the heart ( by way of the tummy) We love you guys and we love babas!“
“In my opinion a hidden gem in east village! The restaurant is very intimate and perfect for any occasion. Service is amazing and friendly! Highly highly recommend coming for Thursday dinner where they have a 3 course meal with unlimited wine for $60 per person! Super worth and we loved the wine choices. Reservations definitely recommended!“
“I am a long-time guest of this wonderful restaurant, the cuisine is magical, I tried almost everything on the menu, but...today Olivier salad and herring Under a fur coat is just a bomb, happy upcoming friends, keep it up, you are super!!!!“
“We had an excellent meal at Sweet Spot Café on Coney Island Avenue. They provide good service with attentive staff speaking both Russian and English. They work with our pace, which was a relaxed time with family for a celebration. I had Chilean sea bass, which was outstanding. Each item on my plate was delicious: the fish, the vegetables and the mashed potatoes, which were very good. The sea bass was moist and scrumptious. My companions enjoyed their chicken and lamb kebabs. Note that kebabs here are thin slabs of meat, not the cubes you get elsewhere. People really like the octopus appetizer. Not a lot of octopus but tasty. Greek salad was good. Not an enormous portion but but tasty. Some people really like the calamari. I thought it was a less than generous portion. Overall we would have liked a little more volume to the appetizers. The entrees were just right. Some members of our party had soup, which came in good sized portions. One person had a Georgian beef soup that he liked. Two people had green borscht, a summer soup with tasty greens in it. We had rose wine, which I was not crazy about. Might be my taste and not the wine. You can bring your own wine. No corking fee. Note there is a $30 fee if you bring your own dessert. Nice basket of bread. I really appreciate the dish of soft butter that came with it. For five of us the bill for five entrees, three appetizers, two glass of wine and three bowls of soup came to $250 including tip for a very good meal which we were there for a few hours. Sweet Spot Cafe is a good place for a celebration.“
“Came by here for a light dinner and drinks Friday night. This is right by Wallsé, which is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The decor is really cute with din lighting and framed artwork all around. We ordered a few dishes to share and a cocktail each. I would say the dishes are maybe like 3/4 size of a normal entree so more of an appetizer or lounge. The food came by really quick. Some of my favorites:-krainerwurst: really meaty sausages with a great mustard to dip in, super great flavor-Apple strudel: the strudel was so crispy and flaky, there's a slight liquor undertone that balanced well with the sweetness of the apple-Pretzels: they have the best pretzels, it's so soft and the sauce it comes with is so good too!Had a lot of fun, would recommend this spot for a casual date night before dinner in downtown nyc.For a full video recap, check out my Insta: alice.likes.food“
“A lovely restaurant with a romantic patio, an interesting & inventive menu & an extensive wine list. Our food was delicious; service was attentive & prices comparable to other restaurants in the area. We had the pre-fixe Theatre menu and were very pleased with our selections. I highly recommend this restaurant for pre-or after theater, dinner, bites or just drinks at the bar.“
“Entering Mishka transports you into another realm. The densely packed knickknacks, chandeliers, velvet upholstery, and plants instantly notify you that you have not entered a restaurant, as you supposed, but an antique shop; or possibly your grandmother's apartment. The service is phenomenal. The food, abysmal. To be fair I'm not really an eastern European food enjoyer, but some dishes were definitely not supposed to be cold. It's all made up for by the mesmerizing display. An endless stream of gold bars, stacks of cash, money spitting out of printers, diamonds cascading into a pile, and on, and on.Please visit this establishment. You will not be disappointed.“
“Great food very well made and very nice owners. I’d say the chef is really passionate about his food.”. I don’t leave very close but I frequently find a way to stop by and enjoy their food and usually take some extra food away. The menu is definitely authentic Romanian, although there are a few Central European specialities and American style items as well for those interested.“
“We stopped in spur of the moment...., food was delicious, salads fresh, babaghanoush was awesome..ordered Dolmas 3 sisters but they were out already..so we got "Dolmas 4 brothers" a joke with Nemat, our fantastic waiter! Highly recommend. We will be back soon!“
“We love Georgian food so decided to try this spot while in the neighborhood yesterday and it was excellent, easily among the best Georgian restaurants I’ve tried in NYC. Nice and laid back, it’s byob but there’s a deli on the corner selling a good selection of cheap Eastern European beers on the corner. Their khatchapuri is amazing and I really liked the fact they whipped it up for you table side. So delicious. As a starter the dolma were also outstanding - nice sized grape leaves stuffed with meat. We also had the Georgian fried chicken with garlic sauce. This was a new dish for me but wow! The chicken was so tender and went so well with the garlic cream sauce! And their napoleon cake which they make in house was the perfect fonish. Just an awesome Georgian food experience that I’ll be returning for more of.“
“I was so impressed by Peacock Gourmet's delivery service and delicious food. The price is very reasonable and the meals we ordered were impressive. Very happy we tried them out. Was a nice and romantic treat having a small baby and not being able to leave in the evenings.“
“It's a cute cafe with a nice area to dine in. They have good hummus and falafels!! Loved the falafel bowl that came with hummus and pita, pita was so soft and so tasty. I also tried the chicken bowl, the rice was great and the chicken too but I liked the falafels way more than chicken and also their hummus more than the rice. Ended with their banana bread, and it was so yum. The pecan cake was also so good!!“
“I went to Beetle House with my son , his wife and their three kids. Ages 16, 10 and 7 years of age. May I say we all agreed that the food was excellent. The service was amazing. They had two actors who were so good. They went around each table and interacted with the customers. There was a magician who did a few tricks. All of us had so much fun. I highly recommend this place to everyone.“
“As the Gaby Brasserie Française was right next to our hotel, we decided to have breakfast there and didn't regret it for a second! The food was incredible and the service even more incredible which is why we decided to eat there for the rest of the days. Dhoz and Benny from the service put a smile on our faces every day. The breakfast and seeing them was our highlight of the day. Thank you so much for everything! such great food paired with this incredible service is very rare to find!“
“Isabella and Alfredo created a very unique establishment where its patrons will feel the vibe of visiting a friend's house for dinner rather than a restaurant. The ambiance is very eclectic, cozy and welcoming. You can tell the decor was hand picked by the owners and each individual piece tells a story, including the name which the owners were kind enough to share with us. Isabella's menu delivers Hungariarian flavor with a touch of Balkan spin, creating a rare feast for your tastebuds. The dishes are mouth watering, well cooked and flavorful. Many thanks to my fellow fine watch connoisseur, who's name I cant remember, my appologies. We really enjoyed our time there, the food and the friendliness of the owners are second to none!“
